The Croods [DVD] [2013]

Good story line and excellent graphics

We had this previously & the one we had was well used. Needed to get another copy for our rainy days in our motorhome. Love the movie.

I missed this one at the cinema but was looking forward to finally seeing it when my Blu-ray arrived, this was a pretty long wait though as for some unknown reason, the release date kept being put back. When it did finally arrive, just in time to wrap it up for my son for Christmas, I wasn't so excited to see it.Today my son and I were ill and he picked this one out to watch and I have to say I was totally surprised at how much I loved it.As the credits rolled I had a huge smile on my face and tears in my eyes, I will definitely be giving it a second viewing very soon.The animation of The Croods is beautiful, I only wish we had seen it in 3D as I'm sure it would look amazing. The story is good, although it takes a few ideas from Ice Age, I didn't know how it would all end and it had us both glued to the screen. The characters were all great as were the voices but I particularly liked Grug (voiced by Nicolas Cage), Guy voiced by Ryan Reynolds,the cute and funny 'Belt' and Eep (voiced by Emma Stone).I love Dreamworks films and it's hard to criticize any of their work in my opinion, there are some stand out films such as Shrek and of course Madagascar but they always seem to get it right, this film proves that further, it is one of the best animated pictures I have seen in a while, kids and grown ups are sure to love it.

On Saturdays I like to settle down with my kids and watch a movie together.I've often seen adverts for the Croods and thought mmhh my daughter isn't gonna like this, but maybe my son will, as he likes Dinosaurs and things. So decided to take the plunge and buy this as I had a few pounds credit on my Amazon account :)Well I have to say it was kind of fun to watch with the kids, though I think I've seen better CGI type movies, and there are many TV programs to watch that are good quality CGI, it wasn't too bad at all. So I would say if you have exhausted many other options to watch, the Croods is quite good, but not as good as films like the Ice Age films where the characters are simply adorable.

We buy 3D movies, but aren't very discriminating as we tend to buy them because they are 3D rather than whether we would normally purchase based upon a review, personal taste etc. The Croods was a purchase that didn't really figure on our 'must have list' but it was reasonably priced so we thought we'd give it a try.Well, I have to say that the movie was a total delight! From the start to the end it amused and absorbed us with its slick animation and likeable characters. The 3D was very nicely used... not too gimicky but very obvious in places. The various scenery creations were frankly superb, colourful and wide-ranging. Visually I think this movie is one of the best 3D films we have watched. The soundtrack was also nicely handled with pleasant music and well recorded voices etc.The characters also very quickly become quite surprisingly real, a trifle corny maybe, but a delight. There's an underlying message in the story that gives it some weight. I think it could appeal to children and adults — with both getting a lot of fun out of the antics on screen.The animation is smooth and wonderfully drawn (obviously created on computers rather than actually drawn!) and in the fast-paced sections the animation is some of the best I have seen.I can't understand why this movie hasn't received more attention and it's definitely one of our favourite 3D movies. I haven't written many reviews about movies, but I did feel compelled to jot down my thoughts about "The Croods". It's a jolly good example of this type of genre (i.e. modern animated 3D).

Allah Almighty has created all human being free and equal. We should not have to act or imitate to make a living in the society. If somebody does not appreciate our truthfulness, honesty, straightforwardness, boldness, and decency then we should reject them before they reject us. A girl should not require a "Guy" to guide her to the stars like a saint. Every girl in the world just like the "guys" should have the required freedom of mind to rise to the stars on her own without any expectation from a "guy" taking care of her. We cannot allow ourselves to be contained by fear, just as we cannot allow ourselves to be driven by fear. We got to have a mind free of all fear, greed, lust, or hatred; and try and reach out to the stars ourselves. We need to leave everybody alone to be whatever they want to be, just as we should ensure that others leave us alone to be whatever we want to be. Freedom of mind is a prerequisite to protection of honour, dignity, self-respect, and pride that define us as a human being as well as defines our boundaries and arms us with the required modesty that protects us from abuse and exploitation. A childish concept, but it is only meant for children in any case. Otherwise very interesting and eye-catching.

excellent divertissement petit et grand

Excelente presentación en caja metálica con magneto removible lenticular, el único inconveniente se presenta en la versión en 3D ya que esta no cuenta con la opción de español ni tampoco con subtítulos, solo lo encuentras en la versión en 2D. Pero la pieza en su conjunto vale la pena la inversión

The media could not be loaded.  Heartwarming movie about family, especially one about needing and caring for one another in situations for survival. It has good animation, HD, sound, and an amazing voice cast that makes the story fun. Special Features are also ok.

Dessin animé sur une famille pendant la Préhistoire. Drôle, décalé, plaît beaucoup à ma fille de 3 ans et demi et son frère de 5 ans et demi. Le père ne veut pas quitter sa caverne alors que sa fille ne songe qu'à la vie au grand air et va entraîner sa famille dans un périple pour la sauver. Une aventure divertissante!
