Philips HP6379/00 Rechargeable Bikini Trimmer

Philips does not disappoint the expectations.Excellent deal of Amazon, nearly half the price and with free shipping to Italy. I just had to buy an adapter for UK plug to Eu but is worth it and it works great.I have already bought 8 years ago Satin Ice optima of the same brand and it never gave problems but I wanted something specific for the bikini area and Philips HP6379 was really an excellent purchase.To the begin you must learn to distinguish and experiment the four heads, but then it's very esay to get a really professional epilation, better than a beauty salon.Despite the long hair I used the epilating head on the groin and upper area without feeling any ill and the result is a super smooth skin. In the lower area I used a Precision trimmer head,and immediately after the microshaver head for a perfect result! Being cordless is a great convenience. On first use you must charge it for 10 hours, then charging is quite fast, in about one hour and half. You can use for 1 hour.The kit includes also plastic stencils for original cuts. The only thing that disappointed me is the bag, very poor.In conclusion: I am fully satisfied with this purchase and I recommend it.

Although described as a WET & DRY on Philips website and packaging - manual implies it can't be used wet. Spoke to Philips to clarify - got a series of confusing/contradictory answers but upshot is you can use it in shower but not bath - AND EPILATING HEAD CANNOT BE GOT WET. Annoying as I bought this because of all advice that epilating in bath reduced pain.Given lack of choice on bikini area, cordless epilators I persevered and just epilated immediately after warm bath. Being cordless at least you can stand/sit in empty bath to use it an avoid making a mess with trimmings and pluckings elsewhere in the house - the other big reason I wanted something cordless.PERFORMANCE? - Epilator head doesn't brilliant pick up. Just to do the 'top of thight/knicker elastic area' took about 10-15mins. Went over same few hairs over and over and just wouldn't get them. No hope of picking up hairs by moving epil head across skin - had to use a sort of dabbing motion which, although I didn't catch my skin, still seems a bit risky! I had these probs with hair that was 3-4mm long- worried I'll need quite a bit of regrowth before I can epilate again. Had hoped epilating would have advantage over waxing on this but maybe not. First time epilating - poss I was expecting too much?Trimmer was fine. Not used precision heads.PAIN? - not bad - first time epilating and I didn't have to pause, wince or take deep breaths. I found it way less painful than waxing by a long way and no discomfort afterwards.RESULTS? - 2 days on and I don't seem to be getting the lumps and spots that I do with waxing - so that is better.VERDICT? - I'll give it a few weeks more use - but suspect I will invest in a model that is better at picking up the hair so I can get it shorter and quicker. As none of the 'bikini' models seem to have a spec above this I expect I will be compromising with a larger head and being careful!

V poor quality, within 3 months the rechargeable batteries do not retain ANY charge...... V v disappointed with the purchase.

Good, does the job and is speedy to shave

As much as I love this product, I do feel as though I'm pruning hedges it makes so much noise!A bit of experimentation is required with the different settings, as it shaves much closer than I thought it would but it is very efficient. The epilator - very surprisingly - also doesn't hurt and is effective. I have always been disappointed by epilators, as they seem to break the hair in half as opposed to pull it out cleanly. I have, however, had no problem with this one.The product comes with a little bag and little accessories (the stencils make the mind boggle - why would you want these?!) and overall, is a very fair price.I recommend that you buy some clipper oil such as that made by Wahl to keep them in tip-top condition.UPDATE: THIS GAVE UP ON ME AFTER ONLY SIX MONTHS!

I love this little bikin trimmer - my first one died after years of good service. I think the battery died.I tried to find another one, a better one..one with more bells and whistles. But after much research ended up with the same one just a newer model. Its great. I only use the one trimmer and I'm happy with that. It came with a few stencils which are just not something I would use :) Easy to clean, works well and lasts years.

Works excellent after long time of use!

Bit dissapointed after having used it for a couple of times with all its accesories. It doesn't leave you with a -so to say- 5 years' old child bikini area. Must have very clearly what do you want this item for. If you're looking for a perfect intimate shaving gadget, go and try to find something more specific. It'll cost twice more but you'll be receiving that what you've been waiting for and having your intimate area really clean and smooth.
