I've got to admit it starts very slowly an you are wondering what the hell is all the fuss about but bang it is a album that takes you to funk heaven really enjoyed playing...... The art work for the sleeve is absolutely loony but it's a loony album...... Please buy an enjoy the funky weed pills poping 1970s

Well worth getting if only for the title track
Heard the title track during an drama episode on TV, can't believe I had not heard of Funkadelic before. The guitar work on the title track is sheer brilliance, haunting and extremely well played. The other tracks on this album don't disappoint either, not perhaps what I would normally listen to but very happy that I got this great album.

Psychedelic Funk
Great pressing, nice shade of vinyl and just a classic album from this iconic band.George Clinton and his crack troop of stoner musicians that were “too white for black folks and too black for white folks”Part of a run of albums that embraced Acid Rock Music & Funk in the late 60’s to mid to late 70’s .Time to put some pep in your step, some glide in your stride and get this in your record collection.

Great album, but misleading colour
5* album and a must have for funk and rock fans.Whilst the record plays perfectly, this is a 3* review because the disc is neither orange like it says in the description or bright orange like in the images. I was expecting the disc to be a similar colour to the font on the album cover, but it’s actually a sandy beige colour. The sleeve also had some minor damage to it despite being a brand new copy (my guess is that this was Amazon’s fault for shipping it in a box twice the size of the record, rather than a specially made record shipping box, leaving plenty of room to slide around inside).

too mixed to be a masterpiece
i am glad i bought this; Funkadelic have produced some remarkably good funk-rock, and there are a few gems here that are a must have; top of the list is the somewhat repetitive and seemingly limited "hit it and quit it", but after a few listens, it became for me one of the greatest hard driven funk-rock tunes i ve ever heard, and it gets me going every time; "super stupid" is similarly full-on, and for a soul track that must surely rate as one of the most soulful ever, "I miss my baby" is a classic (and i am NOT A FAN OF SOUL; give me bad-ass funk over soul any day). the title track "maggot brain"; (Eddie Hazels signature tune) for me is misplaced as an opener; its plodding and morose musical lead in (understandable given the motivation he was sent into the recording studio with) could have been better sequenced in elsewhere once the album had kicked off to a more upbeat start; however George Clintons vocal intro (if indeed it is part of Maggot brian- the track) could have been problematic in this regard; now onto the remastered version of the track maggot brain; to me the original is best; certain elements were brought forward in the remastering that frankly should have been left well in the background, especially some of the less than impressive percussion in particular, which only serve to detract from Hazels already fine work.to conclude; this is a very mixed album, dont expect to like every track, but if you like Funkadelic at all, you will find some really pleasing stuff here, just give it a chance.

A fantastic musical journey of true funk
This is a great album. A lot of hype around it. But this is not a out and out wacca wacca funk album. What it is, is a album that starts out on side 1 building and laying down the foundations for side 2, which then provides all the funk and solid wonderful music you are looking for. It's an 'album' in the classic sense. Start at the beginning and let it captivate you and take you on a journey to the end. Enjoy!

Y’all have knocked her up!
Great album. A real classic. A pity the vinyl didn’t come with a download card or an Autorip option so I can’t listen to it on the go, only at home in front of the turntable giving it my full attention. The reproduction artwork is a bit ‘copy of a copy’-Ian and has lost some definition but it’s a great album and every home should have one

Dont Buy This Version
Cover - Clearly a reprint rather than an original cover, made of thinner material that had ripped before it had been receivedRecord – No evidence of warping however crackles heard throughout the record that didn’t improve much with attempts to cleanMusic – Classic album that most people buying will already have heard. Title track clearly the greatest draw.Overall – don’t buy as this is a poor quality production of a great LP
