Product Description Imagine fresh herbs and vegetables grown in your home, all year round. With the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Harvest you can grow fresh herbs, vegetables, salad leaves, flowers and more! This smart indoor garden uses water and patented nutrients to naturally grow plants… no herbicides, no pesticides, non-GMO. It’s natural goodness right at your fingertips. AeroGardens are the world’s leading indoor gardening systems. You can grow up to 6 plants in this garden and they’ll love the 20 watts of high performance, energy efficient LED lighting. The LED lights are tuned to the specific spectrum that allows plants to maximize photosynthesis, resulting in rapid, natural growth and abundant harvests. The LED lights concentrate daylight white LEDs for fast growth, blue LEDs for bigger yields, and red LEDs for more flowers and fruit. With ideal lighting and optimally balanced levels of water and nutrients, plants grow up to 5 times faster than when grown in soil. The AeroGarden Harvest’s easy-to-use control panel utilises simple prompts to guide you from setup to harvest. It also creates optimal conditions for your plants by automatically turning the lights on and off and reminding you when to add water and nutrients. The AeroGarden Harvest sets up in minutes without tools. Just insert the Seed Pods in your garden, add water and nutrients, and then watch it grow! Everything you need to start growing is included. Box Contains 1 x Includes the AeroGarden Harvest and a 6-Pod Gourmet Herbs Seed Pod Kit that contains: Genovese Basil, Thai Basil, Thyme, Curly Parsley, Dill and Mint, as well as our patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients

Non-Green Fingers
I have avoided comments until my first crop of herbs had matured(or otherwise) :now, as a non-gardener, I am enjoying flavourful fresh herbs in abundance. There is just no comparison with shop bought herbs, so much more zing in my Aerogrow selection.Few points, it's easy to put together, sturdily made and compact despite it's growing power. Do make sure that the small electrical connection between the tank and the base is connected from the off as this powers the recirculating pump(just saying!!!) otherwise germination is hampered.Using the herbs seed pack, I now have an abundance of varied herbs and as a consequence use herbs in everything. All grow well-the dill is like Jacks beanstalk and would overshadow the others were it not for constant pruning. Do follow the instructions including shaking the liquid fertiliser VERY vigorously, as it has a lot of small solids which quickly settle out to the base of the bottle. Also be aware of an ever increasing need for water top-ups as the plants develop.Summary:brilliant for the non-gardener- with no garden, but do RTFM(as my flying instructor said loudly many times)Verdict:excellent piece of kit.

Surprisingly good
So I bought this for my mother. She has an allotment and grows a lot of vegetables and herbs. I’ve had this a while now. I first though this product was a bit gimmicky growing stuff. So we got it installed it and put in the seeds. The first thing I would say because the LED turn on at night the lettuce grew very quick I would say 2 week. After 3 weeks they were fully grown and we were taking them off and it was re-growing in good time. You do have to make sure you have enough water in the tank. I check it in the morning. Once stuff are fully grown what you will find you will need to top up water more often. It actually handy if there are two people in the household you can easily grown stuff for sandwiches. It just convenient you can buy standard plant food that will work. One thing I would say I had to buy the seed kit separately which I think isn’t really great I would expect this product to come with a starter kit inside the box. The build quality is fair everything made out of plastic which is suitable. The LED light is very bright so I would be careful if you have children around looking directly at the light can kind of blind you.

Just some advice to other purchasers
*UPDATE* December 2019The unit appears to work quite well apart from the problem I had, which is detailed below. However, there's another problem, which kinda dispels the notion that you can grow 'anything' in it. You can't. Why? Because a lot of things outgrow the height of the light, even when extended to it's maximum height. Basil seems to thrive in it, but even that grows too tall...I tried to grow some chilli plants in it. They did grow fine, but soon became too tall for the unit, and I had to remove them from the miracle grow unit and plant them in pots and put them outside. I did get quite a few chillies from them but that was while they were outside. So the upshot of all this, is that if a plant grows much taller than about 12" then it won't fit under the light any more, and of course overshadows anything else growing that's not so tall. The pods that you can buy are by no means cheap, and I've had quite a few failures, where the seeds don't germinate. It's a novelty having this unit and seeing how fast the plants grow, but you are very limited as to exactly what you 'can' grow in there. I've stopped using the unit now as I'm a bit overrun with 'basil'.I had previously bought the 'Bounty' version of the Aerogarden. This completely broke down after 68 days. The LCD display malfunctioned. I was refunded and decided to buy the less technical version. It works fine, although when growing Basil, the basil tends to overshadow the other plants which consequently don't grow too well. However after taking countless harvests of the herbs being grown (mostly basil), a loud clicking noise developed. It was impossible to live with, so I was forced to switch it off, resigned to the fact I would have to send this unit back as also being faulty. When I got around to removing the plants, I discovered a very large 'ball' of Basil roots (as big as my clenched fist) completely covering and encircling the pump mechanism. It was so dense I had to cut it away with scissors. Guess what? It cured the problem! So the advice is to check the root system and make sure it's not strangling the pump mechanism. If it does, it will malfunction.

Love my Aerogarden
I love my Aerogarden and have grown Jalepeno peppers, lettuce, basil, and loads more. Its extremely therapeutic to wake each day and see how much your seeds then plants have come on. For the lettuce it seems to grow quicker than we can eat it. I hadn't really much interest in gardening before as the critters seemed to munch most of my attempts as soon as they appeared but this is great. Have even let the herbs go to seed so we can use the seeds for new plants. Was lucky enough to get this when it was on offer and we are now considering adding a sister unit in another room - this time going for a bigger unit! Self seed pods are great and we use our own medium for new pods. Took me a while to learn the trick is to pinch out plants to ensure they get bushy rather than too tall.
