Rubbish kit.
Not a good piece of kit. Initially it wouldn't work, then it did for a bit.Put it away and just tried again and totally u.s.Would not advise to buy not worth the money.

Great price, no problems after months of use
Great price, no problems after months of use, much much faster for downloading RAW files from my Canon dslr than plugging into the camera.

It works
It works but feels a whole lot cheaper than it looks.

Works fine, looks fine
This card reader is reasonably fast and accepts a whole host of cards. I use it with a CF 800x card and got pretty reasonable transfer speeds out of it, nothing to worry about at least. It's nice looking but kinda cheap feeling at the same time, I'm not too fussed. Its a nice slim size so transport is fine. The usb cable that came with it is a nice length and is a burly cable. Overall I'm happy. It does what it says on the tin.

Might be more expensive, but is still as useless as the dirt cheap ones!
Went for this to avoid the issues with the many less expensive "too cheap to be true" alternatives, yet the product wouldn't work in any of my computers as it was faulty (according to Windows)

Card reader
Having installed window 10 on my laptop I found I could not download any photos. I bought this on the advice of my son and it works very well.

Corrupted SD card twice in a row - avoid if you like to keep your files!
Absolutely bloody awful device. First time it worked OK, second time it corrupted the SD card and I had to use file recover tools on another PC that had an inbuilt SD slot to recover the pics. I thought it must have been bad luck or something so I tried it again after I'd taken a few more shots and it done the same thing and I had to recover them again and then the light went out on it and now it doesn't even get picked up by the PC. I got this cos it is hard to find a multi card reader that still has an XD slot (for an old underwater camera of mine though I mainly use the SD slot) that isn't in black (I wanted silver or white) and this appeared to fit the bill but it is a total waste of money. Lesson learned - avoid eKit!

Super-fast speeds but a bit on the pricey side...
As a fellow tech-head, i've always got things connected to my PC. Whether its my video camera, mobile phone or USB data stick. I am constantly transferring data, and as you can imagine, this takes time. Especially when you can't find what cable goes with what device. A friend suggested that to fix my frustration, I should invest in a multi-card reader as this would eliminate piles of cables as I could just plug in the memory cards from the devices directly into the reader. So I did a little bit of searching for not only a basic card reader, but one with super fast transfer speeds as with my video camera, I do transfer some big files.A few days later, the card reader arrived in a white branded box not much bigger than a double CD case. The box contained the card reader which was secured nicely in a clear plastic cut-out, the USB 3.0 connection cable and a basic user manual. The card reader certainly looks the part with its shiny brushed metal finish. I picked it up to discover that it was incredibly light. Alarm bells started to ring as I thought, oh crap, i've bought some cheap rubbish as good quality products never tend to be this light.I plugged it in and started transferring my data to find that the card reader does infact transfer very quickly, and as an added bonus, you can transfer more than one thing at a time to or from the card reader as it has a fancy thing called: 'unidirectional data paths'. Another really nice thing about this product is that it does not require external power. It runs entirely on your PC/Laptop's power.NOTE: You must have both a compatible USB 3.0 PC/Laptop and memory cards to achieve optimum speeds. Also, this is not compatible with Apple products.
