From Disappointment to a Total Fly Massacre in One Day.
Right, let’s talk about summer. Supposedly a time for relaxing in the garden, having a cold drink, and enjoying the nice weather. Except in our area, summer means one thing: an absolute plague of flies. They drive me completely bonkers. You can’t open the back door for two seconds without twenty of the buzzing little nuisances storming the house like a SWAT team. Eventually, I cracked. At first, I tried making some home concoctions I found online. Yeast, sugar, old fruit—the lot. It didn't work. The flies actively ignored my traps and seemed to mock me while doing laps around the kitchen light. So, I admitted defeat and bought this Zero In Outdoor Fly Trap twin pack. When I first hung them out in the garden, I stood there expecting instant results. I thought the flies would immediately dive-bomb the thing like a scene out of an action film. Instead? Nothing. Not a single fly cared. I went to bed feeling proper disappointed, thinking I’d been conned by a piece of green plastic. The next morning, I threw my hands up and headed off to work, leaving the traps to their own devices. When I got home later that evening, I walked into the garden and looked inside the trap. It was an absolute fly massacre. I don't know what kind of dark magic they put in that "non-toxic" bait, but it had worked a treat. It was like a tiny, liquid nightclub for insects, and none of them were checking out. The sheer volume of flies that had been lured to their doom was both deeply satisfying and slightly horrifying to look at. The packet says it lasts up to 2–3 weeks. I can tell you right now, judging by the body count in my garden, they might run out of room before the three weeks are up. It doesn't look particularly beautiful hanging on the fence, and you probably don't want to get too close to it once it's full, but it does exactly what it says on the tin. My sanity has been restored. Barney's Verdict: BUY It requires a little bit of patience at first, but once it gets going, it turns your garden into a no-fly zone. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. If you are sick of being pestered in your own garden, buy these. Just walk away and let them do their job.

Smells awful but house and bottle flies love it
Smells like a corpse but very effective. I put it in the shared bin store in our flat and it was full within a couple of days. Once there is a thick layer of flies on the surface it become less effective so does need to be changed out. Make sure you double bag the waste, you definitely do not want it leaking! Would recommend for use in bin stores.

Brilliant!
Im absolutely buzzing! This is super effective and actually starts working sooner than predicted. It exceeds expectations. I’ve never seen or used anything as effective at catching flies. Not for the squeamish, my daughter isn’t a fan but I am. It even stopped a wasp getting into my porch yesterday, that was a bonus. It provides a little morbid entertainment, a bit like a poor man’s aquarium! I bought one over three weeks ago which was almost full and the liquid had evaporated having been out in the sun for days. So I moved it out to my bins but it’s still working! The new ones are by my front door to keep out as many flies as I can this summer. Good size and build quality. Easy to set up. Safe and very effective. Good value. It suggests hanging it it but I just sit them outside on my walk now ledge and they work perfectly.

Does the job but horrid to look at!
I’ve only given 4 stars on this as, although it’s brilliant, it seems to me that it actually encourages them. Before we bought these fly traps yes we had flies outside our patio doors - possibly six at a time, and occasionally two might come indoors where they were duly zapped! These things get filled up in a couple of days - and I mean filled up!!! Horrible to look at and even worse to smell, I’ve taken the latest one down today and will see if we suddenly get an influx of flies indoors. Whatever the stuff inside these traps is, it certainly sends signals to the fly population!

Disgusting, but works well
This is one of the most disgusting things I've ever used but it works. In a village overrun by flies, to the point where they are the main topic of the local FB page, something had to be done. The initial trap has only been in the garden for three four four days and as you can see it is working very well. It is 99% flies with the odd wasp. It has been hung in the soniest spot of the garden and only moved for the photograph. It absolutely stinks which is presumably why the flies like it so much. I'm very much not looking forward to emptying it! However there has been a noticeable decrease of flies in the garden over the last couple of days. I will definitely be buying the refills although I might put those in old pop bottles so that I can dispose of the thing in its entirety without having to tip it down a drain or into a bin bag.

So amazing - the flys are queuing to get in!!
Wow! These are amazing!! Thanks to the genius who came up with food waste bins and despite my best endeavours to ensure the lid was closed (being airtight would have been a bonus), flys and maggots invasion occurred. In the garage I found these which I had bought last year and didn’t use. They are amazing! 2 days and they are so full. Still another 2 days until the food waste bin is collected so I’ve ordered more of these!! I have also learnt that salt in the bin deals with the maggots. Clearly my food waste disposal skills need improving, or perhaps having kids that eat more would be another option or maybe even accepting I don’t need to feed the entire street and have less waste would be better, but neither of these affect the wonder of these fly catchers - just my own faults! They are easy to used pour in contents and add water - simple! They are queueing to get in😂😂

Very effective but the smell and disposal a problem
Very effective, but the smell and disposal are a problem I can’t fault this fly catcher for doing its job — it is extremely efficient and within a couple of weeks it had caught an enormous number of flies. Unfortunately, that is also where the problem starts! After just two weeks the contents are absolutely disgusting. It smells so bad that I’ve had to move it further up the garden, and it is now full of maggots with flies constantly swarming around it. The instructions suggest burying the contents, but I really don’t want to bury that in my garden. I also don’t want to put it in the household bin, as I’m concerned it will simply attract more flies and create even more maggots. So although the product definitely works, I now feel a bit stuck with what to actually do with the full trap. I bought the pack of two but have only used one, and I’m reluctant to put the second one out for the same reason. Very effective at catching flies, but the disposal of the full trap needs more thought.

It works brilliantly!
We are surrounded by fields, so we get our fair share of flies. Over the weekend, we had a BBQ and we had so many flies it was disgusting. We hung one of the fly catchers up 24 hours ago and it’s at least 4 flies deep already. The solution draws flies to it, so we’ve definitely got more in there than we’d usually see flying around the garden. You absolutely need to keep it well away from eating/seating areas as the flies just keep coming! It does exactly as it states, good value, good size, reusable and extremely durable. The video was 11am today and the photo was taken 7.40pm today. As you can see, the solution draws them to fly straight down into the bottle. Edited: so whilst this works amazingly, after 48 hours the bottle was full, which means, every 48 hours we’d have to empty the bottle and that would be costly. When we took it down the small was horrendous, we just threw the whole thing away instead of emptying it and refilling! The product works, but a little too well. It literally calls every fly to it, and I mean every fly. I don’t think our neighbours had a fly near their homes for the 48 hours we had it up! We’ve decided to use the next one when we have our bbq in a few weeks time, but we will locate the bottle to the furthest part of the garden, well away from the house. The product is amazing, but I think it works a little too well!!! So I’m dropping a star 4/5⭐️

Super effective and fast acting!
These things are so amazingly effective. I will be buying more in bulk as we are having a bad fly season in West Australia. Thanks!

Estremamente efficace.

Wow!
Holy Smokes Batman..... this killed everything in sight! It’s like the Avengers in a bottle, minus the capes. Would buy again, just for the sheer joy of watching flies vanish in a puff of justice! Five stars.
