Absorption Corp Carefresh Natural Bedding 6 liters expands to 14 liters

I rarely write reviews, but I really recommend this bedding if, like me, you have three naturally stinky young male rats! My rats live in the room that doubles up as my home office/study, and with their old, recycled-card bedding, the smell could get really bad after just a couple of days. Not so with this bedding. They are due their weekly clean and I can still use the room without being offended by the smell. So it's much better for me, but more importantly, it seems to be better for them, too. One of my rats had just started to develop a wheeze, and was due to go the vet's. This has totally cleared up since using this new bedding, as it must keep the ammonia down. So, happier human, healthier rats. Miracle! The drawback?......the price. On a bale this size, I only get two changes of bedding. So it works out about 6 times more expensive than my old bedding. It does not "expand" as described. But I'm still going to buy more as it just makes for happier, healthier rats and a much more pleasant study environment!

Absolutely love this product! I’ve always used dust extracted shavings for my rabbits but a friend recommended CareFresh to me, I did some research and decided to give it a go!LOVE IT! I have used it for a large indoor cage while my bunny was receiving vet care and it controls any odours perfectly, so much so, what odours?! Super absorbent and is nice and soft to.Will be buying more as I am changing over to CareFresh full time for my huge outdoor hutches, it is slightly pricer but the benefits outweigh that, love the range of colours it comes in also even though I went for the ‘natural colour’! .... Helps having the bunnies litter trained to as reduces the waste HUGELY!Super quick delivery but the size of the pack was smaller than I expected at first glance however it does expand and ‘fluff up’ once scattered about ... great feature as the unopened ones don’t take up much storage space!

Two things about this product:1. I have an Omlet Qute Hamster cage which is designed to look like a piece of furniture and is standing in my living room - so I most definitely DO NOT want odours from my super cute hammie. This product WORKS. Yes, it's expensive. One 6L pack does one bedding change every 2 weeks. So it costs me £7.43 a fortnight (no postage as I have Prime). I don't think that's excessive - 2 cups of Costa coffee - I think my hamsters worth it!2. BE CARFEUL WHEN YOU'RE ORDERING IT!!! I find the labelling on the bags INCREDIBLY confusing as they have the compressed quantity and the expanded quantity values side by side - obviously the compressed value is the only one you need when you're buying. Also the prices vary massively. After researching sellers I've found that the one labelled '6.0L expands to 14L' which costs £7.43 is good value.

Nice and soft for guinea pigs, also fresh smelling for long enough. However, far too pricey to be used to cover the full cage. I use fleece liners and add Carefresh in main toilet/ hideout areas. Hasn't quite relieved me of as much cage cleaning to keep the smell down indoors I had hoped so will continue to experiment with bedding.

This stuff is brilliant. We use it for our gerbil tank. One of these goes in the tank along with cardboard tubes / egg boxes, etc. Initially it doesn’t look like enough but as soon as the gerbils get into it making tunnels etc it soon fills the space.This never appears wet & doesn’t smell. It’s expensive but requires changing a lot less than if you used shredded paper / sawdust. I certainly think this is healthier for the gerbils & us humans. No dust with it, no rough edges. We’ve used this for 9 months & I won’t be changing to anything else.

This stuff seems to have changed lately in that the odour control is not as good as it used to be. That said its head and shoulders above shavings and paper litter so although it's expensive I do buy as my Guinea pigs are kept in the house. This size pack does 4 complete changes if a 100cm cage

This product is okay, nothing more than that though. It's lumpy, hard and doesn't really soak up any odours. It also doesn't look very nice - I know bedding isn't a decoration but even sawdust looks and smells a lot better, plus, my guinea pigs much prefer the latter than this carefresh stuff.It's not soft enough in texture to be used. For me, this product personally didn't work. For you, it might, each to their own, but I went back to sawdust pretty much after using this product once. Not a five start product unfortunately.

Have bought this product before and found it just right for my ratties who are notorious for having respiratory problems. This product is very natural looking and practically dust free. The package advertised however was a lot bigger than the one that arrived....
