Interesting
Great gift for my science-mad son. You get a clear image on the screen and he finds it very interesting.

Great quality
Nice clear 1080p picture. I've modded using a flexi arm so the microscope is even better now than using the stand it comes with

Great bit of kit but build quality could be better improved
The media could not be loaded. My review comes from the point of view of someone who uses this to repair and replace parts on electronic devices. So I've wanted one of these types of microscopes for a while as i've gotten into repairing video game consoles with various issues and a magnify glass or the cheap USB Microscope cameras ain't cutting it and have become a frustration to use. Obviously because i'm not a professional and not making a living from it i'm not going to drop at least a £500 to £1000 pounds on this type of equipment at a hobbyist level. So it was packed great and had plenty of material and instructions as well as plenty of configuration choices. I think the only thing i didn't realise was that from the packaging this was mostly aimed at kids, but for what i need it for it will do and exceed.I followed the instructions and found the quality of everything apart from the screen and lens to be quite poor. The base is quite solid and even, the main support arm that contains the USB Lamps and holds the main metal pole to be ok. The most awkward part I found was the USB Lamps that plug into the side, they were quite hard to plug in, either they are a female USB Connector that works both ways or it's a poor fitment into the part, so be warned if you read this and then assemble it. The main parts that holds the screen and camera i have found to be the most poor quality of the entire thing. Although it's made out of a good metal material it fits quite poorly into the main plastic body of the equipment. There's this awful amount of small travel if you are repairing something and slightly knock it when you are repairing something which doe's become frustrating. I Have tried a different and longer screw to hopefully get it into a better locked position and will try some plumbers tape to keep in more solid in place, but might as well consider maybe looking for an arm replacement of some type instead? The best part and the worthwhile cost of getting one of these has been the screen and the camera, i absolutely can not argue that this gives of a fantastic and clear image when working on anything especially with the USB Lights that are supplied. I would highly recommend this to my fellow amatuer repairers who need something affordable and easy to use. But i would definitly consider modifying this to suit my needs better for what i do (longer and wider base, a new arm of some type)

Andonstar: just doesn't work!
I bought this for my wife as a Christmas gift: she's vert keen on learning to identify lichen. We've assembled the microscope with care (even though the instruction are sketchy in places), and switched on. We can get an imagre on the digital screen, and then it freezes. Every time! There is a re-set process to follow, and I've done that several times, but we cannnot get beyond this stage. We've found a telephone number for Andonstar (one of your reviews suggests that they are very quick to respond), but we can't get an answer. Seriously disappointed!

Great picture quality, shame about the build
The picture on the monitor is very good and the range of adjustments is good, very good quality screen. Saying that, the specimen stage is very flimsy with a lot of unwanted play. When your trying to adjust the focus the item your viewing completely goes out of view. Overall, once it's focused, it's a good quality picture and the image detail is fantastic but the the experience of adjusting it is exstremly frustrating and takes all the pleasure out of it. Really not worth the money paid.

Really impressive for the money
Very pleased with this digital microscope. Yes, at higher magnifications it's a challenge to focus but patience will be rewarded with excellent results. Don't forget you're up against the physics of light diffraction so up to and beyond 2,000x magnification you're not going to see any improvement. Linked to a bigger HDMI monitor makes its use relaxing. The remote prevents any shake when capturing an image. I bought a couple of higher quality objectives and they made some difference but only for pixel peepers. The JPEG's produced are impressive and can be further processed (including AI - Topaz for example) to yield some very high quality results. I'm using this with biological slides rather than top lit options. Worth the effort to use.

Rather nice little digital microscope
Bought for PCB , small electronics hobby purposesIt looks niceMetal in places where cheaper ones have plasticsThe higher end units in the range are out of reach but this is a good compromiseThe picture is clear and bright
