Liquitex Professional Acrylic Medium for Arcylic Paint, Gloss Gel, 237 ml

Really great results achieved for impasto art. I loved it and would definitely buy again. It mixes well with all acrylic brands and increases the volume of paint by 50% so it also makes your paints stretch that much further saving you money. I love the fact that all my brush and knife strokes stay show the canvas. It dries to a soft sheen. Nothing too garish or super shiny. I like the fact it’s in a screw top tub with a sliver foil seal and I can scoop up a little product with a wood stick and apply to my palette how much I need without waste. Wonderful quality- Liquitex is fast becoming a favourite brand.

This was perfect for what i was doing and is of great quality compared to other gels and its for this reason that i highly reccomend it. Easy to wash off hands, clothes not so much but as of so far i have had no issues relating to the product at all. Must buy!!

I'm an electronics designer and when I make a custom bit of kit I always had a problem with make the end product look professional. I now have been using this gel to mount paper printouts from a colour laser printer that represent a control panel (a bit like a hi-fi or DVD player with graphics and text) to the back of an arcylic/perspex sheet. This gel gives excellent transparent properties when dry and looks great. Just make sure you get the air bubbles out. This is a better option than screen printing or other forms of back printing. Well it is for me anyway.

I have Been using this product for Doll repaints - Comes in great for the lips and glossing the eyes also ive used it stick things to her. Works great for what i use it for. Also it can be mixed with pigment and paint. There was no strong cent or odor to the Liquitex drys clear and it will leave imprints or drips if not taken out before drying starts. Great for Building up a surface to create textures to paint over.

It's a very glossy gel-like medium that allows you to add colour in a translucent layer when mixed with paint. That's not what I used it for. I used it as a clear layer on top of acrylic pour art, prior to varnishing with gloss, to make the colours appear more 3D and really make them pop, which it did. However, applying the stuff is a hassle.It's quite thick, and it's best applied with a palette knife. Like all higher-end art materials, the makers assume that you know how to apply it and all the possible uses for it, which is extremely snobby. It's designed to be used in a buildable way, but due to its consistency, which is a thick gel that doesn't pour, getting it to apply evenly is like trying to sandpaper a mountain until it's level with the ground. My work has all these lines on it from the palette knife that are visible even when it doesn't catch the light, and that's underneath two coats of varnish that you would expect to fill the gaps and even out the ridges.The manufacturer also doesn't state how thick is too thick, so I had to wait weeks for my last gel layer to dry because I had a line of 'white' unset gel that refused to dry to clear. I ended up scoring it with a knife to get some air in and force it to dry, which risked slicing through my artwork.I'm sure that these issues are less noticeable when you use it for building layers of translucent colour rather than keeping it transparent. It does dry fully within a couple of days usually. It also remains gel-like if you open the container and then reseal it, so it's not a single-use product, which is good. And to be clear, I'm still going to use it, I just wish it had a better consistency.

I have recently learned about using gel medium. It works great for collage work I have done and as a top cost in a cross-hatch pattern over acrylic paint - then topped it off with varnish for several of my pieces. Adding gel on top of your paintings give them a deep richness. easy to usem high quality, you will love this so buy more than you think you need. 5-stars.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto dopo aver visto su qualche video in internet la fantastica tecnica di trasferimento su legno. Sinceramente non posso comparare questo prodotto con altri come il mod-podge, ne posso raccontare dell'esperienza di trasferimento su altro materiale come ceramica o stoffa. Quello che posso dire è però la mia esperienza super positiva nel trasferimento su legno. Ho scelto questa marca perché ho letto vari pareri e mi sono convinto essere la più professionale. Non so le altre, ma i risultati sono eccezionali sia in bianco e nero che a colori. Dopo una stampa fatta mediante stampante laser, propedeuticamente "specchiata" con gimp, ho applicato uno strato di prodotto su una tavoletta di compensato. Lo strato non era molto spesso, perché tanto poi l'operazione di "appiattimento" toglie tutto il superfluo. Io ho usato un normale pennello per l'applicazione del medium, e poi un tarocco da cucina in gomma per appiattire bene il tutto. Ho fatto asciugare per una notte e poi con l'acqua e le dita ho eliminato tutta la carta. L'effetto è già spettacolare, ma ho finito il mio quadretto rifinendo i bordi con un tocco di nero per dare un effetto bruciato, applicando la vernice con una spugna che mi ha permesso di conferire un tocco di "porosità" al colore, facendolo sembrare davvero bruciato con una fiamma. Il nero si adattava perfettamente alle mie esigenze, visto che la foto aveva già un effetto anticato di colore giallo ocra. Alla fine per lucidare non ho usato lo sesso medium, perché non mi dava l'effetto voluto: ho usato proprio il flatting che si usa per la lucidatura delle barche o dei mobili. É molto più trasparente e lucido, ed inoltre essendo molto denso mi ha permesso di evidenziare ancora di più le "pennellate", aumentando l'effetto desiderato. La spedizione è stata veloce. Il prezzo secondo me è alto, ma per un prodotto professionale vale la pena spenderli. Sicuramente la quantità è sufficiente a fare molti lavori, quindi potrete fare tutte le prove che desiderate.

Medium gel di ottima qualità, facile da stendere e con una finitura lucida molto bella. Non altera i colori e asciuga bene. Ideale per lavori artistici e pittorici.
