Excellent
Just about every review for this lens has been good - tack sharp and good colour rendition and tonal range, like most of the Fujinon glass. It's not inexpensive, but the quality shines out. I have added a couple of test shots, taken at either end of the focal range and at minimum apertures in each case. I cropped the 55mm shot, but it is sharp at f4.5 and with more dof that I thought it would have. At 200mm, f6.5 it is still extremely sharp, with nicely out of focus background and just going out of focus foreground. Of course, sharpness isn't everything and I would say that with portraiture at say, 100mm, you will need to choose your background carefully to ensure that it is out of focus and not distracting, but then, this is not really a portraiture lens, but you could make it work as such with a bit of effort. It is a bit of a compromise, from this point of view, naturally so - compare it with the f4 50-140mm at twice the price and the 90mm and you realise that you are buying a non-specialist lens, but one that is good for a lot of stuff where sharpness is important from landscapes to still life and product type shots. The lens-hood feels a tad flimsy, but fits well and should do its job. The lens construct feels first class and although the f4.5/6.3 is not the fastest in class, I am not in the least bothers since I expect to shoot around f8/11 most of the time. I haven't tested it on shots a 100 metres away which will be another test and one affected by the sort of day it is and atmospheric conditions, because I don't expect to use it for that type of shot, but I might do on holiday or such like, but then the weather is likely to be good. I do want to try out some landscapes though, so this is a test to come: for now, I find this lens nothing less than excellent.

Great stuff!!
Switched to Fuji from Canon kit. Have to say the quality of the images are excellent, auto-focus is fast and the lens feels super solid and well built.Upgraded the Camera (X-T10) and Lens firmware after purchase and I have not suffered any of the auto-focus related issues others mention. I note most of the auto-focus related posts are a few years old 2013 etc. so something positive seems to have changed in that time.Agreed that the plastic lens hood feels a bit cheap and that the lens covers from Fuji are a nightmare especially, i.e. they fall off a the least touch if you have a UV filter screwed in but all that aside I still have to give it 5 because of the images, construction and usability.

Outstanding :Sharp as a tack, great separation on depth of field, greta image quality
Purchased along with 16-55 prior to two week holiday in Tuscany to attend Palio horse race in Siena and take some fast moving images.Swithered between Fuxi XF 50-140, 2.8 and this lens for my Xt-1Read reviews about sharpness and opted for this due to extra 60 mm length and lightness not to mention much cheaper with cash back on two lens purchase.Outstanding clarity images , sharp as a tack ,and great depth of field separation to rival full frame zoomsSo glad I went for this.Slightly stiff zoom (cf other Fuji zooms ) slows action a little but consequently no zoom creep and easy to adjustIt may be lightweight but not in terms of sharpness, I could pick out faces/expressions on very fast moving horse riders and in a crowd of thousands at 300 metres !Balances well with grip on Fuji Xt-1Add it to your lens collection, you won't be disappointed but cannot guarantee you won't want to add the 50-140 also !

Fantastic OIS and great colour contrast
I also have the XC50-230mm which i also think is very good but this lens has far better OIS making for a much higher percentage of keeper photos. The other improvement is in the colour and contrast, it can be subtle but they are both definitely improved (trees can look surprisingly more lifelike). Lastly the focusing is better probably due to being a brighter lens. Value wise I think the XC50-230mm is 'maybe' better but I am actually happy with them both. The only downside of the XF55-200mm is its weight - it is not quite so grab and go on a whim as the lighter XC version.

Great lens at a decent price
For me, this lens hits the sweet spot between picture quality, build quality, price, and portability. Images are excellent and the product has a solid, quality feel. Cost is modest (especially if you can take advantage of one of the promotional offers Fujifilm run quite often), and last but not least the lens feels very comfortable to carry on my X-T2 with Fujifilm Vertical Power Booster Grip. (I highly recommend the latter for all X-T2 users anyway.)

Fab lens
Used this lens for a couple of years now. Love it. I have always found it reliable, tough (I often take it up hills/mountains and it copes brilliantly in all kinds of weather) and the images are sharp and crisp, even at 200mm. AF can be a bit slow and frustrating at times but I can easily cope with this, I got plenty of great action shots at my son's school sports day for example. Brilliant lens and at a decent price... relatively.

good
good quality, fairly bright lens, image stabilisation works fine, but the lens is hefty and feels unbalance on smaller bodies like X-M1

Shoddy packaging and no accessories
An expensive lens was sent in a bag! All of the accessories were missing and my only option is to return everything.

Ottima fattura

Excelente lente precio - calidad
