I was probably disappointed with this book initially when first flicking through it, as I was looking for a book with folkart motifs in it which I could add to a poject. However, I quickly changed my mind once I actually started reading it. You are encouraged to create your own motifs ( guidance examples given) & there are a number of projects in the book to recreate yourself. A valuable addition to my collection.

Excellent book with beautiful illustrations

I am reviewing this book for Flora Waycott et al, Quarto Publishers and NetGalley who gave me a copy of their book for an honest review.The beginning of the book deals with the best basic supplies required and then leads straight into drawing.I loved the simplicity of the book – you start with a simple drawing and then add designs to it to make it more ‘involved’. Anyone would get something out of the book.I like how it is split into chapters written by different designers focusing on flowers, animals and lettering and on different makes e.g. gift tags, mood boards.

Really lovely publication. Nice and doable ideas, inspiring. Good format. It seems a little short, one more artist and their ideas would make it a perfect length.

The book is nice

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves folk art and wants to be inspired by new ideas. There are lots of projects by 4 different folk artists so you get a good variety of styles. I painted the 'Carpe Diem" sign as my first project and I love it. What I like most about this book is that it gives you a new modern way to approach folk art painting while maintaining the essential charm or "hygge!" Also, it arrived before the time expected!

I am huge fan of Flora Waycott’s work and this book did not disappoint. I also discovered some amazing new artists through book. I bought this book to reignite my creativity on days that I feel stuck or just want to do something for a fun and relaxing evening. This book is perfect for this purpose.
