A Quality product that's smooth to use.....
I was after a new trimmer for grooming as my old ceramic blade trimmer had given up the ghost after about 7 years. After reading quite a few negative comments I was a little dubious as to purchase one or not, but as it was on offer for just shy of £40 I thought I'd give it a punt.As others have said the laser guide is a little gimmicky and I haven't used it to this day. also some have said that the guards are a little flimsy but I have had no problems with them at all. But saying that I only use them on really short hair of less than 1-2mm.I have also found that the rounded off tips of the cutting blades help reduce the amount of nicks you can get with conventional clippers in lets say some of the more sensitive areas on your body and I do like the smaller head for getting into harder to reach areas.I would say that if this product lasts me more than 5 years and is still available I would definitely purchase another in a heart beat.

nice upgrade from my last one (Babyliss)
Lovely shaver, nice upgrade from my last one (Babyliss). The laser is a nice idea but it doesn't replace practice. It does help though. I have quite thick hair so the blades find it a bit difficult to take off the hair cleanly (especially as this is a shaver designed for detailing). It gives a nice even trim though so your beard is left looking really tidy, and the detailing blade is a nice addition for the awkward places around the jaw and spaces below the lip. I would give it five stars if it was around 50 quid, as it's the shave I'd expect from a trimmer of that price, so I think four is fair. If you're considering it, go for it!

Good shaver; the laser is useless
Anyone out there considering to buy this because of the 'amazing laser' should know that it is absolutely useless. Tried using the laser once and haven't since then! I see no purpose of it apart from being 'cool'.Other than that, it is a pretty handy shaver that does the job. It is waterproof so cleaning is easy. The two combs have very different separate roles so do not mix them up, otherwise, you'll definitely cut shorter than desired.

If I want just some stubble I will just take off all the attachments but also works perfectly great with the desired length
I have now given up shaving completely now and just use this. If I want just some stubble I will just take off all the attachments but also works perfectly great with the desired length. The laser guiding is a bit of a gimmick that I don't really use however it is fun to mess around with time to time. The charge lasts for ages and only charge it every 2 weeks. Quite expensive for what it is but it works great for me.

A gimmick
No, not impressed. The plastic cover which dictates the cutting height sits behind the metal Cutting blades.Meaning if you twist it to trim your beard it cuts shorter than you want meaning you have to trim the whole thing. The more I look at it the stupider the design is.There is nothing covering the cutting blade, this is a first class gimmick. The cutting action the blades the charge are all first classBut this is sold as a variable height trimmer and it's not that, it's a piece of tat that doesn't do what it says. It's got all these flash gimmicks like a dial that can deselect a cutting length down to .4 of a mm, then you can scroll incrementally. But none of this is worth a damn when it can be over ridden depending on the angle you hold your hand.A beard is lots of angles so it doesn't do its first jobMy advice- look at the plane / straight line between the cutting teeth and the plastic cover- it's obvious it won't workDisappointed in Londonš¢

Grooming made easy.
I've had varying lengths of facial hair since I was a teen and in the past ten years have experimented with shavers without much success.Enter the Philips Laser Guided Shaver. This shaver beats all others I've used so far hands down. The two sides rotating had is genius. With a quick spin I can go from moustache to beard trimming and back again. The adjustable head provides trimming for lengths up ro 7mm and clearly shows what setting you have selected. The laser guide just makes styling easy. No more dodgy beard lines! The battery life is great too and it charges from empty in about an hour. All in all this is a brilliant product!

beard trimmer with laser line, spin heigh adjuster
Positives: laser line helpful in dim light height adjuster a positive. Height adjuster a positiveTalking point is plastic combs - 1 of which i think impractical - my concern is they will break and then as i know from a previous model hard and costly to replace (however i not that a norm now for most manufacturers). also negative is height adjuster not super fine/close.overall happy with.

Brilliant
Brilliant and simple to use. Self sharpening blades so able to get long use out of them. The battery also lasts for a very long time in between charge, so even if your travelling and you forget the charger you should be alright. Not really used the laser guide as had no use for it, which is the only reason I've not given 5 stars.
