Review: Lovely book - Really lovely book. I only know the octonauts from the TV series, and understand the original meomi books are a bit more quirky, and possible darker themed than the TV version. This book, recently written so ties in a little more with the TV show, sets the Octonauts on an adventure to uncover the mystery of the Vegimals original habitat. Beautifully illustrated, as stated there is a fold out double page illustration of the Octopod with notes, and this theme continues throughout with little descriptions and titles pointing out various parts of some of the Gup vehicles etc.. Packed full of detail and with an endearing story conclusion that perhaps it doesn't matter where you're from but being content where you are, that counts. The double page "glow in the dark" feature of the very Deep sea is brilliant. My daughter and I love turning off the lights for that one, to watch for the glowing pages as we open the book. Like the Tv show, this book still teaches about marine biology and marine life, but in a magical way. The only slightly dark side I can think of in this one is the page where they visit the Swamp/Bayou with New Orleans/Louisiana connotations. Under the swampy waters they find a Mardis Gras taking place and some of the fish/creatures are drawn as Zombies taking part in the parade, Not horrific or anything, the usual quirky Meomi style, a bit green looking with scars on their faces but still my 3 year old, who has a mortal fear of monsters at the moment, points them out asking a bit worried "whats that". :o) Still can recommend this, it is a beautiful childrens book. Review: One of our faves - All the Octonauts books are really good but this one is our favourite. The illustrations are beautiful and really in so much detail, my daughter loves the glow in the dark page especially. The story is brilliant finding out where the vegimals came from, another favourite bit of my daughters is the kelp cake flavours she loves choosing who would have what. If your child likes octonauts this is a must have you will not be disappointed.

Lovely book for Octonaut fans
Bought for my 5 year old who has been watching Octonaut episodes back to back. The book is beautifully illustrated on good quality paper. My son loves looking at the fold out picture of the Octopod and he’s at the right age to read some of the descriptions too although it’s not one to read independently yet. The story is about the Vegimals wondering where they came from and so the mission is visiting different parts of the ocean to try and find out. Quite a simple storyline but I’d say the book has plenty of visuals and information to absorb too. I placed the page which has the glow-in-the-dark pictures on my windowsill to absorb some light so that by bedtime, the pictures glowed in the dark very clearly - which of course my son was enthralled with.

Nice book for Octonauts fans
This is a lovely book that my 4 year old son loves us to read to him. It arrived in excellent condition. Glow in the dark wasn't working but I left the pages open by a window and it seems to have "charged" it. Good book for any Octonauts fan. Your child won't learn much about sea creatures from this book, except what a habitat is but there are other books that can provide this. It's a simple, nice, story and there's some words that could expand your child's vocabulary if the words are explained to them.

Meomi - the original and still the best!
Meomi have done it again. Whilst the family have all enjoyed the spin off television books the original Meomi books remain the firm favorites and this one will be no exception. Little One and I are HUGE Vegimal fans and this book is all about how Shellington discovered them and how the Octonauts go on an adventure to show Tunip and his friends their natural habitat. The illustrations are wonderfully detailed, particularly the opened-out Octopod (Fisher Price take note!) and have the soul and character that the TV books sadly lack. Not sure whether this gem is going to stay hidden until Christmas - I think a half term treat is in order here! With more Vegimals than you can shake a stick at, this Meomi book is a must for your Octonauts library, and I look forward to the next Meomi Octonauts book.

So much to explore
This book is great - there’s so much to explore with all the side stories and games that they can play whilst reading. Also very good for educational purposes and teaching children about marine biology.
