Remarkably funny, probably overpriced, did the job and didn’t irritate
As always, I wish that any skin care product would produce a full list of ingredients on the product page when selling online. It doesn’t seem good enough to only provide (as must happen) ingredients on the pack itself if you want to sell on-line. So, for the benefit of those who would need to know here are the ingredients of this exfoliate and bubble cleanseAqua, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Polyacrylate, 1-2-Hexanediol, Hexylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum. Chamomilla Recutita (Matricria) Flower Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Parfum (Fragrance) Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Oreganum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Salix Alba Bark Extract, Lactobacillus Soybean Ferment Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, LimoneneNow I must be honest and say that I wouldn’t have requested this given that it has a lot of synthesised chemistry, which is something I choose to avoid where I can, but there are also a couple of botanicals I might have a little wariness of too – certainly for anyone prone to skin sensitivity. Oregano (as an essential oil) and Cassia (as an essential oil) are both high in compounds which can be problematic. To be fair, this does not say how the Oregano Leaf and the Cassia Bark Extracts are obtained, - are they steepings, tinctures (so not so concentrated and not so potentially problematic) or are they essential oilsAs a vegetarian I would have needed to know if the Glycerin was from animal or vegetable extractionOkay – the stuff above may not be what everyone is interested in or wants to know – did it workYes, it exfoliated in its bubblingness without me having to do the exfoliation myself. I think it has undoubted novelty value and may be best enjoyed on a girls’ night in. Or boys’ night in for all I know. You massage the little pouch to start activating what will later bubble, and spread it over the mask.Helpful tip – before tearing open the pouch make sure you have pushed what is clearly the content well below the tear line, to make sure you don’t have any part of the mask itself trapped there. Tear open, carefully unfold your bank robber style mask and once sure you have it completely unpicked lay it across your face. Don’t stay looking in the mirror admiring your new Halloween criminal look for too long as the liquid will start to drip down, dragging the mask with it.Lie down for 10-15 minutes and enjoy the strange sensation of bubbling from up and under. Providing there is no feeling of irritation I don’t think you need to worry that your skin is melting. Even if it does feel a little as if small creatures are running round your face (think lying in a bubble bath and the feeling of the bubbles popping on your skin) Get up, look in mirror, have a good laugh at how curious you look. Remove, rinse well with warm water, enjoy the feel of your smooth, soft, exfoliated skinA fun present I think for a teenager who doesn’t have sensitive skinFor me, I shall stay with more natural products which use traditional exfoliating material like ground almond are much more modestly priced, and come in a tube or pot, with sufficient for several uses, and are, moreover, much quicker - wash and go!

Hydrates well but is a little creepy looking
Whilst I knew that this face mask came in two parts it still managed to comfuse me. The top section covers your forehead down to your nose, and the bottom section covers your cheeks to chin. The mask is very wet, and I mean very wet. It was perfect to use during the hot summer as it cooled me down but in the winter time, I'm not sure it would be very relaxing. I left it on for longer than stated just to allow my skin to absorb as much as possible and it did feel softer and more hydrated afterwards. There was a slight tingling sensation after a while but not in an unpleasant way, more in a slight skin tightening way. However, the mask is pretty creepy. Think 'Jason' or 'The Skin I live in' and you're pretty much on point, a good look for halloween but it may scare off your kids and animals. Overall it was effective but very fussy and slimey to apply.

Pleasant, unexpected - but pricey
This definitely wasn't anything like I expected a bubble clay sheet mask to be. I envisioned a much thicker clay-based product, akin to traditional face masks that would bubble on contact with skin. On first opening the packet, the sheet mask itself feels exactly like many hydrating sheet masks I've used. This mask is black, which makes it a little more difficult - particularly in yellowish artificial evening light - to find the edges and open the mask out without damaging it. I also had a little difficulty applying this, as the formula kept making bubbles over the eye holes, and an exfoliant definitely doesn't seem like something you'd want to apply to your eyes.Once I I did get this safely applied, I settled back to let it do its work. One thing that may be worth noting is that the website description refers to using this for 10-20 minutes, whereas the packaging is very clear that it should stay on for 10 minutes, but must be removed after 15. Since this was a new product to me, and exfoliants can be quite strong, I decided to err on the side of caution and set my timer for 10 minutes. I only just managed to keep it on for this long. Not because it was in any way uncomfortable or unpleasant, but because the mask produced so much fine, bubbling foam that it had started slipping. I was surprised after the black colour of the sheet mask, to find that the foam it produces is a starkly contrasting white. I was also surprised by the texture of the foam when I removed the sheet wash it off. The foam wasn't as thin and light as I'd anticipated - only the very surface of it was light, below it had become quite thick and creamy.Immediately after I washed this off, my skin felt a little bit stripped, but after an hour and with no other chemicals going near it, my skin both looked and felt really good - cleansed, softened and glowing. I liked the effect. I'm not hugely keen on the single use nature of the product, and with an RRP in excess of £7 find it definitely on the expensive side for a 10-minute home-use treatment.
