I found it especially helpful for travel-related words.- **Both Spanish-English and English-Spanish Sections:** Having both sections in one place is a great convenience, allowing me to switch back and forth easily as I learn.**Cons:**- **Limited for Advanced Learners:** While it’s great for beginners, advanced speakers might find the vocabulary a bit basic.- **Small Print:** The compact size means the text is smaller, which might be challenging for some readers.**Overall Impression:**The Oxford Essential Spanish Dictionary is a fantastic tool for beginners, students, or travelers. Good dictionary but not keen on the multilingual approach
There are plenty of words and it's a good base if you are learning Spanish, but I should have taken more notice of that "multilingual" description. You do have to beware of the different verb and noun usages in European and South American Spanish. My Spanish teacher pointed out recently that a verb I used in an essay doesn't work in Spain. I will probably buy another dictionary for travel in Spain. As others have pointed out, the quality of the paper is quite poor - almost jotter quality - and I expected better for the price.

Spanish Dictionary
This is a present for my grandaughter, she loves the language so I thought it would be a great stocking filler @ christmas. She has been to Spain many times on holiday with family & also with school. It's great.

Mediocre paper and spine quality for the price
Does what it says on the tin, but the quality is very low. The oxford school spanish dictionary, which is around the same price feels way higher quality. You can open it wider without creasing the spine, the pages are smoother and coloured. The overall quality is better. This essential spanish dictionary on the other hand feels very cheap, spine creases really easily, and the pages are very rough. I believe it does contain more words, though, and also includes some extra definitions when the word means something different in latin american spanish, which is useful.
