Cuisinart BFP-703CH SmartPower Duet Blender and Food Processor, Chrome DISCONTINUED BY MANUFACTURER

This is my 3rd Cusinart duet and I am hoping it lasts longer than the other two, both of which had motors that stopped. Even so, while they worked, they were great. I could not find another brand that had the blender and processor for a logical price and of a convenient size. Wish me luck!

We were in the market for a new blender, but once we saw this product with a larger food processor that would be convenient, we were sold. The product is well made and relatively easy to clean. When we first received it, my wife took everything apart and washed the parts in the dish washer. When we first used the product, it was somewhat difficult to get all the parts back together properly. I'd suggest doing the blender and food processor separately to avoid having to figure out what goes where. The product performs as advertised. Like that the electrical cord can be shortened easily (stows in base). We are very happy thus far. Little concerned with some of the other reviews that state that the link between the motor base and the blender is weak, but this product has been on the market for 5+ years and I think this area has been made more durable.

This has to be one of my best buys of the year. I looked around at several different models of food processors and this one fared well in reviews and options.We needed something compact, to fit into our small space, and we didn't want to trade power for size.The size is perfect for cooking for two to four adults. My wife uses it to make a variety of sauces and chopping ingredients for dishes. It's relatively quiet (compared to our other kitchen appliances) and reliable. It's easy to use and it's compact so it's easy to store and retrieve. In fact, we store it in an overhead cupboard.The dual use is brilliant. We can switch out when we need (but we mostly use the food processor). The blender glass is great for both hot and cold food. It's fast. I got to use it the other day for grinding hazelnuts and I had hazelnut gruel in moments.A bonus for us is the chrome finish matches our other kitchen appliances.I still use my immersion blender for smoothies in the morning because I can make them in the same container I drink them from and I do the dishes.

I have been using this blender every day for the past 8 months or so and it's going strong. I love it. It chops quite nicely and blends my fruit smoothies quite well. I don't put ice in mine, so i can't attest to how it chops that up. I'd say my only complaint about it is how loud it is! But if you can live with that for a few seconds while it blends, it's a great blender. Looks nice, cleans easily. Thick, sturdy glass jar.One warning: this is my second one. I had to return the first one I bought from Costco because at one point the bottom was screwed on so tight, there was no way it was coming off. This made it impossible to disassemble and clean properly. This happened after a few weeks so it maybe it was defective. I haven't had that issue with this one and like I said I've had it for 8 months.

I benefited from this reading this forum before I bought my duet blender. Since others had said that the plastic base was the problem, I carefully examined it when it arrived. It had a hairline crack that I never would have noticed if I had not been alerted to the problem. I sent it back and got a new one without the problem. My has been working fine for well over a year. We use the blender 1-3 a day. It does a good job on ice and fruit. It is loud, but not too bad. The food processer I use about once very two weeks. It is VERY loud. I have to warn others and concentrate at not listening or it hurts my ears. I would use it more often if was not so loud.

Very happy to get this as mine motor went my fault tried grinding coffee beans in it. As its now being discontinued was thrilled to get it. Very pleased and happy , just as the original one I had.

I have the white version of this item for 7 years! I received it as a wedding gift. Yes it is very loud, but it's the first item like this I've ever owned, so I didn't have much to compare it to. But it's easy to clean, works fantastically, and has nice design. It has worked great until about a month ago when a friend was using the food processor at a party, to chop something. We heard this awful grinding noise and smoke started coming out! The black part between the base and the attachment shattered and melted all over the place.I am not so disappointed, as I got 7 years out of this appliance, but it seems most people experience this problem much sooner.

I did not want to purchase an Oyster Kitchen Center again so I am happy with the dual purpose blender/processor. Less items to dig out and easy cleaning. Great to have so many choices for speed.
