Fabulous quality
This a serious piece of kit. Really well made. Solid but not overly heavy. After a short time our Dobermann was going up and down without issue. We use it mainly for her to get in and out the house.

Great Device
This ramp arrived very quickly and will be a great aid for our German Shepard and our old girl a Golden retriever. It is very sturdy and not that heavy surprisingly. We use it against a Land Rover Defender which is quite high up off the ground and I would say the angle is fine although I should have perhaps bought the longer one. However, on the first couple of uses our German Shephard was trying to claw his way up and slipped a little but now he's is more confident and goes up without the clawing. I just stand behind him and to the side, just in case he needs a gentle push but this has made getting him in and out of the can so much easier as he is around 38kilo and it hurt him when he was lifted in. So a great big thank you to the Deluxe Telescopic Dog Ramp.

Great ramp but quite big!
The solvit ramp has lots of positives and a couple of negatives but overall it is a very good ramp and so much better than the plastic folding ramp we had previously. First the positives: It's sturdy, strong and doesn't wobble. It's not too heavy (for me a 40yr old shortish woman) and the telescopic action is smooth. The non slip, sandpaper like coating makes it easy for our Labrador to get a good grip (unlike the plastic model) and it is long enough when fully extended so that the ramp is not too steep for her to get into our car (a Nissan Qashquai). She seems much happier to use it and unlike the slippier plastic ramp, doesn't have to do a run up to get up it! Now the negatives... It's telescopic, so only retracts to half its length (rather than folding) so it is quite long and does take up quite a bit of space. With the dog and dog bed in the boot, there's really not enough space for the ramp to go in there as well (unless I put the single back seat down so I can lay it flat) and this is in an SUV with a decent size boot. In theory I could put it on the back seat (not great once it's muddy) or work out a way to stand it up across the back of the car but I'd need to secure it or it would fall on the dog. The second negative is not a deal breaker but could be improved. The the design is not very intuitive when it comes to extending it as the bit you naturally grab onto is the section that doesn't pull out. Everytime I go to pull it out I have to do an awkward shuffle to move my hands into the right position whilst yelling at the dog not to jump out. In summary, an excellent quality, strong and stable (Teresa May?) ramp but just be aware it is quite big. Maybe check the unextended measurements first.

Great product
I got this ramp because my dog strained some muscles in his back and could no longer jump in and out of the car. Fully extended, it provides a gentle slope up to a 4x4, so is ideal for old or injured dogs. Though light, it's sturdy enough to easily sustain my 150lb Great Dane, and looks like it'll last. The walking surface is the texture of course sandpaper which provides a good non-slip grip, though I haven't yet tried it in the rain. It folds up neatly and is easy to carry/stash. The dog worked out how to use it in a few minutes. NB: V quick delivery - the product arrived two days after I ordered it.

Fantastic dog ramp!
This ramp is amazing! I researched a lot before selecting the Solvit ramp and am delighted with the product. Easy to carry one handed. My gigantic 5 month old German Shepherd puppy gets in and out of my Mitsubishi Shogun, as does our 11 month old labrador who has just been diagnosed with elbow displasia.I am under 5ft tall and there is no way I could lift those two great big lumps in and out of the car several times a day! The ramp unfolds so easily, it just slides open. There is a useful clip to hold it in place, but to be honest I don't find the need to use this. The manufacturers recommend placing it on the back of the car and opening it out, but I have found it easier to hold it upright in the middle and let it slide open, then place it on the back of the car. It fits slid into the boot at the side of a Mitsubishi, being held nicely in place by the wings of the rear passenger seat and then held in place by the seatbelts at the very back. As suggested, the dogs spent a couple of minutes walking on it flat on the ground, then I raised it on to a step or two into my house, then placed it higher into the car and neither of them were at all phased by the process. Now it is second nature for them. I would say this ramp is the best thing I have bought for my dogs, I cannot fault the product in any way. WELL DONE SOLVIT!

Dog Ramp
I bought this after looking at many reviews for my retriever as she is struggling getting in and out of the car. The ramp arrived quickly, its sturdy and well built. The downside is I have nearly sliced my fingers off a couple of times with it and my dog hates it. its not easy to store in the car as its so big. Back to the drawing board to find something more compact with less chance of inury!

Pups New Toy
Very sceptical about buying this as had brought a wooden one a couple of years ago for another dog and looked homemade so was returned. Now we have a large Golden retriever puppy who is getting heavier every day, I have a VW Tiguan quite high and will be some time before he can jump into it, and then when gets older he wont anyway. Looked at all the reviews and this was the best. This is well made very professional looking and solid easy to open and the right length. I tried as the instructions suggest putting it on a flat surface to start ,that was a total waste of time so did not use it for a couple of weeks .My wife was bored 1 night put the ramp up against a large chair ,and what do you know Puppy loves it more than his toys ,goes up and down it in the car no problem, storage in the car slight issue but PUUPY LOVES IT AND IT SAVES MY BACK ,BRILLANT RECOMENDED ******

Well made and Steady
I have 2 dogs and a Nissan Qashqai that has a 31" high boot floor. The first dog, an ageing German Shepherd, walked straight up the ramp and into the car as soon as I asked, and out again, no problems. She just needed a little guidance with her collar to gain confidence. The ramp is totally stable, well made and easy to use. The rubber pads at the top enable it to be positioned perfectly so as to clear the rear bumper and the slope is not too steep. It telescopes smoothly and fits easily onto the back seat when the dogs are in, or into the boot while they're out. However, my other dog, a 35kg Labrador cross, refuses to go near it. It is the top surface which worries him I think, which is like a very coarse sandpaper. He won't step on it voluntarily, even with bribery (sausages!) The two times he actually got up it, he scrabbled away with his claws so much that he tore the sandpaper surface to shreds. I'm still hoping he'll use it eventually, as the boot is too high for him to jump in and out and he's a bit heavy to keep lifting. What I'm planning is to glue rubber backed door rugs to it, which I think he will accept. All in all though, I think this ramp is as good as you will find for the money, just the top surface lets it down, which will need to be modified.
