Be wary of the bit that attaches to your lead
I really like this bungey, as it gives enough for a little bit of give but doesn't spring the dog back like an accordion. I love that it also adds extra length to his lead. The only thing I'm wary of now is the attachment on the end that goes onto your lead. It's wearing away after a few months and I can see that popping out any time soon. Its a shame, as they should have used the same metal as the bit that is on the clip part of the lead. That part is nice and sturdy. I'm in 2 minds if I'll replace it once this snaps off.

Much kinder on dog and owner. Highly recommend.
I use this for my beagle mix who has only two speeds - stop and full throttle. I have to keep him on a lead in busy places like the beach as his recall suffers immensely when there's so many distractions, but I like him to be able to have a bit of freedom so I either use a long line or one of the retractable leads. We are lucky enough to live right on the coast so it seemed a shame to avoid the beach altogether. It was becoming a real pain with him running off whenever he saw another dog, only to reach the end of the lead and have all that force stop on his neck, sometimes he would actually do flips from the jolt on the collar, it was really horrible to watch and can't be nice for him (they don't seem to learn though, eh?!). Not only this but also the force on my elbow, and shoulders. A few times I'd sprain a muscle and end up with a sore arm for a few days.I went looking for this after I saw another dog with a little metal spring on its collar. I wasn't too fond of that type as it seems more liable to break and would mean he'd have a bit of metal clanging on his tags all the time. The bungee has been fantastic since arriving. It is really well made and I have total faith that it wont snap off during a walk. The metal fittings are of good quality and the clip is strong but moves smoothly and is easy to take on and off the collar. It's great for long line work, but I certainly wouldn't use it for close control or training. You need a good contact between you and your dog in order to have control and be responsive to the dog's movements. I tend to walk the dog on a short, normal lead to the beach then swap leads when I arrive. It's a little bit annoying having to carry an additional lead but I wouldn't like leading my dog along the busy road with a bungee lead. It's lost a star simply because this isn't really a "one size fits all" item. The bungee is a little too stiff for my liking, and whilst that would be great for a large or stronger dog like Labrador or GSD, for smaller dogs it would be nice to have a slightly more elasticated and perhaps shorter version for dogs who don't make full use of the stretchy ability.Overall though, it's a fab product and is a must for anybody who uses a long line or retractable lead.

Takes the jerk out of the lead
Cannot really say to much as it is just an elastic cushion between dog and lead when it is on full stretch but it does the job very well

Good
Was going to use for the cat, but a little too heavy. Perfect for my large dog. Good quality and does as expected

In use for two years, fantastic
I've had this in daily use for two years until my dog unfortunately died and I've only just remembered to review. My dog was a large Flat Coated Retriever who was incredibly stubborn and terrible at recall. I had him on an old Flexi Giant extendable lead on his walks in the woods but found that when he was charging around, he was liable to choke himself as the lead suddenly ran out. No amount of me gently teasing him some extra lead little by little stopped it so I bought this.In two years of heavy daily use, this never once snapped or gave up. My dog was 38kg of pure bulk and liked to run. This gave him a little bit of extra freedom and saved both his neck and my shoulder from the snap of the lead running out. This meant I could stop worrying about how much lead he had left and start enjoying walks again.I also picked up another one in a shop and used it to clip his harness to his collar. He didn't wear his harness often (only when someone else walked him) and he had a habit of slipping out of it. This meant we still had hold of him if he escaped his harness as it was attached to his collar, while we didn't have to worry about him getting suddenly snagged on something due to the bungee effect. It had enough give in it for me to go and rescue him from whatever tree or shrub he'd got himself caught on without any worries. It didn't really stop him pulling when he spotted something he wanted, but was ideal for softening the lunges which is exactly what I bought it for.Overall, a great buy and I've put it away for the day we eventually get another dog.

Highly recommend this in 3's
Although one maybe considered good enough for a large doggo. My doggo is considered to me as medium which opposes most peoples opinions which they consider my doggo either large or extra large. Now this bungee shock cord is really good however my doggo is extremely strong and could escape pretty much anything and break things that are supposedly durable or considered unbreakable to a doggo of my caliber.i would recommend buying 1 for a small doggo, 2 for a medium, 3 for a large and 4/5 for an xtra large. Now i know not all doggos of one size can have the same strength and speed as all in its own weight category however my doggo is exceptionally special in his size, speed and strength. So i literally bought 3 of these and i do not regret doing so however i may end up having to buy a 4th one shortly just to test.i do indeed highly recommend this and it has stopped my doggo from pulling to the point he bounces somewhat back. it's exceptionally a great combination with the Ancol Steel Shock Absorber! So check that out also.
