Breville Sandwich/Panini Press & Toastie Maker | 4-Slice | Non-stick-coated aluminium plates | Stainless Steel [VST026] [Energy Class A]

This has a good size plate, easily accommodating four paninis or three to four sandwiches (depending on bread size), yet the item doesn't take up a lot of workspace when in use. It has a locking mechanism when not in use which allows for the product to be safely moved, and stored. I have put two hooks up on the side of my cupboard and hang the sandwiche press on them - making it easily accessible and convenient. The press heats up very rapidly and toasts the sandwiches/paninis very evenly and quite quickly, 5 minutes or so. It is easy to clean - just wipe over with a damp cloth while the plates are still warm; Don't leave until the press has totally cooled as this makes it harder to wipe off any filling that may have leaked from the sandwiches.The press is very easy and comfortable to use, which I Iike, and its chrome look finish is very smart. I have only been using this product for a few weeks, but as yet I can't fault it. It is constant use and performs well each time. I think that this is good value for money and would recommend it to anyone not wanting to invest in the more commercial ones.

This is a high value product for its price tag. It is simple but very effective. If you want a sandwich press then you should definitely consider this. I haven't tried to cook steaks or meat in it but I do not think it is designed for such task. It comes to temperature quite fast for its size and you will have cooked ready two sandwiches in about 8 minutes. I use mostly toast bread slices. It can accommodate easily four sandwiches and I think it can take also four of the baguette style sandwiches. The revolving upper plate is a massive plus if you want proper results. I was wondering at first about the flat cooking surface but it has proven to be the best in cooking efficiency against the ribbed surface. It is also much easier to clean. This is the reason why the plates are not removable (probably). The nonstick coating is very thick, hard and effective. It looks high quality but only time can tell. Till now it shows no signs of wear after almost 4 months use. I use dump kitchen paper right after to clean the plates (just be careful not to burn your fingers) and they are like new. Over all good quality for the price, very good function, very satisfied. It was exactly what I wanted.

As expected from Amazon delivery spot on, ordered week before chrsitmas, arrived in a few days. Been using it for a week now, no problems, works really well. Made paninis normal toaties etc. No temp control, but it is thermostatically controlled and appears to be the correct heat for everything I have tried so far. One review complained that it squashes the sandwich, if you only put one sandwich as opposed to four which it is designed for it will compress the sandwich more than normal, its all to do with load (i.e. weight of the lid) and surface area (how many slices of bread you have on it). Unfortunately there is no 'Stop' to stop the lid from compressing more than necessary, but someone in the reviews did mention their old model did have a stop or adjustment of some kind. Seems to be okay with 2 sandwiches. My solution.....make yourself 2 sandwiches not 1 and enjoy the benefit. Also I suspect the type of bread you use could have a significant effect on how much the sandwich would compress, so keeping a look out for the perfect toastie bread.Anyhow to conclude, well made, seems robust, easy to use and super easy to clean (just wipe around with kitchen roll whilst still warm) accomodates thick or thin toasties, not too heavy, easy to store. Would buy another, a bargain at £35.

I bought this thinking it might not be very good as the price was so low ( I paid £30.44), how wrong was I. It's brilliant.It easily fits in four regular sliced toasted sandwiches, or four paninis.My main concern before buying this was how long it takes to heat up as a few other reviewers had said it takes a while, it doesn't, I timed it and it's 2 mins, toasted sandwiches take about 2-3 mins, so all in all a very quick sandwich.Okay it doesn't have a temperature control but it has a thermostat that keeps it at the perfect temperature, my toasties were perfectly cooked, nice and even. I tried one buttered and one not, and although both came out fine, the buttered one looked nicer,more shiney like a toastie whereas the other one looked just more like toast on the outside.This was really easy to clean,just a quick wipe, it's got a lip all the way round the bottom which is good as it holds any melted cheese in, I would of given this 5 stars had the grill plates been removable.My only other slight gripe would be that it does squash the toasties quite a bit so go for thick sliced,the thicker the better.All in all a very impressive sandwich toaster,perfect for a family, yes it's a bit bigger than some others but not so much as to put you off.Buy this, you won't be disappointed!UPDATE- 3 Months later...I want to up my star rating to 5 stars from 4!I still love this product, even more so as time has gone on, and the fact the grill plates are not removable does not matter as it's been so easy to keep clean.I love this product so much I've bought one to use in my tea garden (to replace an expensive Dualit product i ws using )and it has been a godsend, the toasted sandwiches are so quick and when 4 are done together the toasties don't get squashed at all.

Really works and looks great. Sent back a Sage sandwich maker that was double the price after 24 hours. This machine is great quality and really easy to operate.It takes less than 3 minutes to hit the right temperature and it makes a wonderful panini in 5 minutes. Also tried toasted tea cakes and they also grilled well.

Très content de cet achat, premièrement le produit semble solide, métal partout et il dégage une impression de solidité. La montée en température est ultra rapide, la chauffe uniforme et les résultats sont parfaits. Le système de verrouillage est parfait pour le rangement, même ça semble solide. Il est vrai que la température n'est pas réglable mais au final la simplicité est une bonne chose à mon sens. Le fait que les plaques ne soient pas démontables n'est pas un défaut à mon sens car je ne compte pas du tout y faire griller de viande ou poisson. Je pense que si vous comptez faire ça ce sera un cauchemar à nettoyer mais ce n'est pas un modèle pensé pour ça. Résultats parfaits pour tout ce qui est pain, paninis etc... L'absence de rainures rend la cuisson uniforme et le nettoyage ultra facile. Pour ce genre d'utilisation je recommande à 300% largement supérieur à tous les modèles dans la même gamme de prix. Excellent produit *****

It is illegal under Australian law to sell any item within Australia that does not have an Australian plug - adaptors do not count even if supplied. Item received had English plug. Amazon like all Americans treat all Australians like playthings. Serves us right.
