Read Me and Laugh: A funny poem for every day of the year chosen by

AN OUTSTANDING 'LAUGH-ATHON'
I have quite a considerable collection of wit and 'funny' quotations books, and comic verse collated by the likes of Rosemarie Jarski, Des MacHale, Geoff Tidballs, Roger McGough, Ned Sherrin and quite a few others, most of which have given a great deal of amusement and the odd 'out-loud' laugh, but nothing has caused more loud guffawing from me than this book of collected funny poems chosen by Gaby Morgan.Don't assume that is for just children. Whilst it is suitable for kids it is perhaps more appreciated by adults of all ages who will instantly relate situations defined in the poetry to life experiences of their own, albeit not quite so exaggerated nor slapstick, and it will induce laughter. Nothing can be guaranteed in life but it would take a really dull, hapless individual not to find this book eminently funny.I have read this tome whilst contemplating life in our en-suite facilities, and each night on exiting my wife having heard my laughter is eagerly anticipating hearing that session's readings. So then ensues the only poetry readings that I have ever been asked in nearly 70 years, to perform! My best value 'laugh-machine' ever.

... a book from school which she already knew and loved (pure fluke on my part
Very well received by 7 year old niece who was very impressed her aunty had gifted her a copy of a book from school which she already knew and loved (pure fluke on my part!) Great fun to check out the poems for everyone's birthday and other "notable" dates ( start of school term, date granny would be visiting etc) and much discussion on the which poem was best!! A nice mix of long and short, well known and not so well known poems.

Not remotely funny
I bought this as a gift, but after a quick flick through the pages, I couldn't find ANYTHING to laugh at.It's not an amusing book. Not even darkly amusing.Best avoided.

Poems for everyone
My little boy (9) is mostly interested in maths and science and pokemon... I want to encourage him to broaden his reading a bit, and these poems are perfect, short and funny, and one for each day so he can fit it into his routine around school. He has really liked coming and reading a poem out if it is particularly comical, or has a funny bit of wordplay. I think this was a successful present for him.

Laugh out loud
I bought this as a gift for my Dad but have found myself reading it and laughing out loud. For lovers of nonsense this is a great gift.

I didn't laugh
Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find the poems in this book very funny, some of the poetry is very dark humour, which didn't cheer me up at all.

Happy little book
A gift for my daughter - and she's really enjoying it. I think she actually reads more than one a day, but who cares. Puts you in a good mood.
