Celestron 44410 Prepared Microscope Slides, Pack of 25

These are good: I used to work as a scientist and bought a cheap microscope to get my kids interested in science. This set of slides contain a variety of specimens that have been well prepared and stained. The list supplied has some incorrect spellings which could lead to confusion, but apart from that, a good buy - arrived quickly and in a nice box which should protect the slides from damage

There is a good mix here. A little mor documentation of each slide would be nice. Took me a little while to decode LS and CS (unexplained on the piece pf paper that lists the various slides. CS = Cross Section, LS= Longitudinal Section. Is WS Wet Mount? Stains used would also be nice.

Excellent selection of material for the prepared slides. I have children whose ages range from 6 to 14 and there are slides to interest all of them, as well as for those taking biology more seriously past the age of 16. And never mind children, there is material of interest to anyone who wants to get to know microbiology.The slides themselves are generally of very good quality. Here are photographs of mosquito mouthparts and a Y chromosome.

I bought this for my science mad 10 year old daughter and we love it ... would highly recommend

A lovely collection and very nicely presented. This was bought as a xmas present for my son to go with his microscope was a great addition to the microscope basic kit. A fun way to talk about science. Good fun for adults too!

Excellent set. Enhance any microscope collection. Very good n clear.

The slides are dotted with dust particles which are removed by blowing air. Since they were examined under x1000 magnification with oil, some oil micro droplets were left on the cover glasses. The micro droplets are removed by carfully cleaning with tissue wetted with ethanol or detergent for cleaning glasses. The preparations are diverse, rich and very beautiful.

There were a couple of duplicates hence the 4 out of 5. Very well packed and well prepared slides. My 12yr old daughter then went online to find labelled diagrams of the samples so she knew what she was looking at.
