Edit:3 years on and its still going! I added 10 metres of cable to mount the solar panel in full sun and it works great!Works great but only in full sun. If it’s cloudy it doesn’t work. You have to remember it’s a solar pump “solar” being the key word.In full sun it can reach a height of about 1 metre, it is quite powerful.Also do you have a position in your garden with at least 180 degree sun through the day. Otherwise any shade from trees buildings etc will stop it Working.The solar panel will either need to be laid flat or rotated to follow the movement of the sun.Build quality is very good not a cheap product.Overall I am happy with the function of this product and would recommend it.Sadly stopped working one month after first use.I contacted seller who were very helpful, we tried a few thing to get it working which sadly it didn’t.Seller sent out a complete replacement which is now happily working.Excellent seller great customer service!Highly recommended!

Great little item. Like it says it doesn't work if there is cloud but even when the cloud just thins it starts to work but when the sun comes out... wow it is a lovely fountain with 3 pray patterns to select from. Good height too I would say so far (and its a fairly cloudy day but we have seen it reach a meter high. We just wanted to make a small feature in the garden without hooking up to the electricity supply. Delighted with it and the seller was unbelievable - it arrived here less than 24 hours from purchase. I bought at 6pm and it arrived around 1pm the next day. Could not be more impressed with the product or the seller/delivery. So many other items are about 1/2 the price but only boast 30-50cm spray height. This however is a bigger panel... nicely finished and not at all unattractive. Good lenngth of wire on it too so i can have the feature under the shade of a tree and the panel in the full sun light... the pump comes with 3 lengths of tube so you can stack the height of the head to what is suitable for your installation from fa few mm above the pump to about 6-7 inches above the pump making it rather versatile. The 4 little succours under the pump make it very stable even when all the tubes are in use to full height. The motor makes a noise when in the open air but runs silently once submerged. Really good bit of kit for the money,. Delighted.

quicker delivery than I expected since it's come from oversea.It works as expected, pumping water when the sun's out. however, it's very sensitive, a little shade will affect it's performance greatly. I am using it to pump water to my little plant pot with any excess water drain back to the pond. so it's great for I want.I won't recommend it if you want it as some kind of water feature, ok when there is full sun, ok when there no sun (since it just won't pump) but it would look really sad when it's a bit shady.

Unfortunately I find this fountine useless it only works in direct sun light so if it's cloudy or a little shaded the pump won't work. Witch living in Britain makes this pump useless very dispointed for the money I paid I expected a bit more from it.But it was fast delivery and was packed well. And was easy to set up.

I have to admit when I first opened the box I thought I'd only been sent the solar panel and not the pump as well - it is so small, barely the size of a box of matches, that I didn't see it! However, you should never judge something by its size; it is a great little pump.Whilst it does need a fair amount of direct sunlight on the solar panel to work properly it has kept my pond nicely aerated. If you use the supplied power cable the panel must be placed in a location that gets full sun for as much time as possible. I couldn't find that spot with the cable supplied so I did extend the power cable several meters so I could fit the solar panel on the roof of my shed. This gives the panel the maximum amount of light throughout the day.If it had a small battery backup in its setup it would be a perfect product for someone not wanting a complicated electrical wiring task for their pond.

Had this a year now.. Left it out all winter in the snow.. my thought was to just replace it as it will never make it through a UK winter.. BUT its working fine.. still going strong. amazing bit of kit for the money.. makes a lovely little water feature. .. very happy with this purchase..

Good pump, surprisingly powerful, come on sometimes in cloudy conditions, will take it out of pond during winter as not sure how it will fair with ice cold water.overall after 3 months of use, excellent product.***update - the pump has now stopped working and is broken. It worked perfectly for around 4 months - for that price I knew it was too good to be true.

I've set mine up as a mini waterfall, so the pump has a lot to do. Bought a bit of clear pipe in my local fish equipment shop. I didn't expect a deluge - so a reasonable trickle met my expectations. It's basically assembled when you open the box. Easy. After half an hour of moving rocks around it was up and running. I put it in the foot of an old pair of tights to keep the gunge out.With any solar device it's worth carefully considering the panel itself though.First, it isn't a thing of beauty, and the cable isn't long enough to put it far from your pond or on a tall pole.Second, it won't give any power if it isn't in direct sunshine. Any obstruction - branch, leaf, or bird poo will disproportionately affect its performance. So I had to clip back my hedge out of the way. On dull days it gives barely a trickle.All that said, I give it five stars. I knew all this before I ordered it.
