Quiet.
I recently purchased this item to increase the flow of cold water from my tank to electric shower. It did exactly what I required. It’s located in the loft and compared to a Salamander pump I’ve had previously, this is very quiet. The pressure has increased as required, it’s good quality and great value for money

It works!!!!!
Just to start I have zero knowledge of hot water or pumps! Recently moved to a new house and had a brand new bathroom installed, how disappointed I was to find out that the hot water pressure is shocking and couldn’t use the shower due to trickling shower head! After doing some research I mentioned to my husband about a shower pump, ordered this one and we were dubious that this would work. Hubby installed it after having to buy new pipes due to those provided not being long enough, also our pipes are 22mm rather then the 15mm provided. He installed it without too much trouble. Wow to our amazement it worked! We can now have a shower! We live in a 3 story house and it has made only a little difference to the kitchen sink but that was not the intended purpose. It is a little noisy but we can live with that for a powerful shower!!!! Yay!!!

Back pressure
It works fine, but doesn't like too much back pressure. My hot had little pressure, so I installed the pump. My cold is mains fed. If you don't have the hot running fast, it shuts off.

Do not buy this shower pump
This pump was fitted for 6 weeks and totally failed. Amazon refer you to the manufacturer for any faults/warranty issues with it but Bristan do not want to know as it was not directly bought from them, even though it is sold by Bristan Store. To make the matter worse, Bristan in their warranty terms and conditions state that if the unit fails it must not be uninstalled until inspected. Now if like me, it is fitted to your only bath and shower it could be weeks before you can actually wash again..... Some of the worst customers service I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Minus 10 stars at best. Update - I have now read in detail their terms and conditions and what it actually states is '5.1.2 Should we so require, we must be given every opportunity to inspect and test the goods concerned, if at all possible in situ as first installed, and we will need to see our applicable batch and delivery note details'. Therefore they also lie on their email correspondence to try and squirm out of warranty claims. This is what was sent to me 'Unfortunately, as you have advised your pump is no longer installed, it is no longer covered under the manufacturer’s warranty for replacement parts. As per the terms and conditions of our warranty, which can be read using the link below, the product must be in situ for inspection if needed for testing or inspection for manufacture fault. As the pump has been uninstalled, we cannot carry out this diagnosis. If you would like to return the pump for a refund you will need to discuss with the retailer that you purchased the product from directly.'

Don't keep looking for others, just buy this one. Absolutely brilliant!
Easy to install, flexible pipes could be longer, but other than that it's brilliant! Trip to Screwfix for longer hoses and its working well. Don't look at others, buy this one. So quiet and has solved the low water pressure issues I had with the shower. Very happy customer 😀

A good pump
This pump sorted out the lack pressure in my hot water system. It was quick to install and quiet in operation. I note that one reviewer complains about the lack of filters. Filters are not needed in applications where the water is clean to start with, ie it comes from the water company mains albeit stored in a tank in the loft.
