This hoe is great in the autumn, digging down when the soil is slightly damp. It digs up roots and cuts off weeds really quickly. A dutch hoe keeps the area weed free, but doesn't go down into the soil, like this tool can. You can draw it over the soil, and go a little deeper for the roots and to break up the soil and get some air through it. I've also used it to drag grass cuttings over the soil for mulching. Or use it to mix compost into the topsoil, to add some body to weak soil.The smaller 10 cm hoe is ideal between plants and rockies, and also works on larger pots and containers at the end of the season to break up compacted soil.

This small garden hoe is excellent for hoeing between plants. It is extremely well made and should last a lifetime. The fact that it can be change from a short handle to a long handle is very useful. I am very pleased with this purchase. I highly recommend this hoe and the seller deserves high praise for stocking this item. In my opinion it really is the best of the best.

The onion hoe is really nice and sturdy, but I am not using it as intended by the manufacturer. I am an archaeologist and I use it to clean in planum by scraping off layers of various soils. As stated, the item is sturdy, but the metal blade is not as good as it could be and there is no ready available replacements. What I've been able to track down are priced 5-6 pounds per item!

I like the hoe in general but wish the blade was a bit deeper like its 15cm counterpart.
