MasterClass Stoneware and Brass-Effect Sugar Container with Airtight Bamboo Lid, 1 L (1.75 pt) – Black

Oh dear. This could have been a lovely item, but it is so poorly made that it is a disaster.Firstly. the lid does not sit dead centre on top, it overlaps one side and falls short on the other. This on its own makes the item look cheap and nasty.Secondly, the label is stuck on so badly that it is completely surrounded in glue which is also smeared over the surrounding area. The label itself isn't curved, but is straight, with great blobs of glue underneath holding it to the curved container.Thirdly, the overall finish is dreadful. There are nicks and scratches all over it, which are showing through white and are therefore very visible and noticeableFourthly, it isn't truly black but a faded 'charcoal' grey. It is very noticeable next to other truly black items on my worktop. In order to produce a true black, items have to be painted more than once. It is clear to me that this item has been given the once over and then shipped. The nicks and scratches themselves are a giveaway to that, as well as the fact that it is not truly black but a dark grey.Lastly, there is a hairline crack running through the one I received from top to bottom which is visible on both the inside and outside of the jar. It doesn't take a genius to work out that this jar isn't going to hold together very long, and if I am foolish enough to fill it with sugar, I will one day return to find a whole load of sugar dumped on my worktop when the crack finally gives way.Maybe I just received a bad one, I don't know, but whatever the case, this should never have been sent out and sold to a customer.

Very good quality however the “tea” sign fell off within 2 months and had to be glued back in. Would not expect this for the price!

Pros:Looks greatSeals properlyCons:I decided to give these a quick rinse before putting anything in them and the "Sugar" label instantly fell off without any force i.e. glue they use to adhere the label onto the surface of the jar can't resist a splash.The bamboo tops are sealed with a flatter / wider rubber than a lot of these kinds of jars which flexes too much, so they don't fit snuggly into the hole and this leaves a bit of play in the position of the lid. Fairly minor point though as the seal is still provided.

I read a fair bit of negative reviews for these which I think is unjust, they look very elegant, they feel very nice and have had no issues with the plate falling off and they are air tight. very pleased with them

Metal label fell off after first wash on one of the tins. Otherwise great items

Very high quality canister, in a lovely matte finish and embossed gold label.

I love these storage jars. They are sophisticated, good quality and arrive really well packed. I am about to order another one for my different tea varieties.
