Great service
Got sent the newer version with concentric circles embossed into the base. Tamp is spring loaded and self levelling.Tamp is very level as you can see from the photos. Fit with my flair 58 porta filter could be a little bit tighter but good enough. Service was excellent.

NEOUZA Espresso Tamper Spring Loaded for Coffee Machine Accessories
Although I returned this item, that was becuae I had purchased the wrong size. ThisTamper is as good as any other in this price range. The sprung loaded mechanism is essential if you want to make consistantly good coffee with an espresso machine as it tampers down the coffee grounds with a 90lb pressure. As you might note from my other reviews of coffee products that I have recently purchased, the correct tamper pressure is essentail for making good espresso.

Sage Barrista Pro
The tamper standard head depth is the same as the Sage razor which means that when you first place it on the portafilter it compresses the coffee gently to the razor depth. A gentle press then tamps the coffee which means that the coffee is lower than scraping with the razor. I have however had better results using this than with the sage tamp and razor - its heavy and easy to use

Great tamper
Has a really nice weight to it. Very solid. The rim allows you to get a level tamp every time, which is essential for a good extraction and crema. Much better then the one that comes with the machine

A great upgrade from the one out of the box with sage
Firstly you’ll notice the weight of the tamper is a lot more than the stock one from sage which is in itself a nice thingI ordered a 53mm for the 54mm portafilter which is found on most sage espresso machinesI still used the standard basketBut this tamper makes worlds of difference from when I was making to what I’m making now in regards to espressoI recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap but well valued upgrade to making good espressoYes there are other more expensive options but this is a good price point to try it out before joining the bigger boys

Excelente tamper
Gostei desse tamper, pois evita 100% uma prensagem inclinada, o bolo do café fica homogêneo e linear

Elegante y robusto.

Sturdy , effective
Am using it all the time and I’m satisfied . My Lattes are getting very consistent . It’s helps in the consistency. One must get the grind proper of course .

Calibrated? Who cares!
Honestly, there's no real reason to worry about how hard you're tamping. There's no real difference between a 15 lb, 30 lb, or 50 lb tamp. Standard brewing pressures from your espresso machine will end up compacting the puck much more than that. As long as your espresso puck is tamped flat and reasonably compact, everything will work out fine. That said, the one great feature of this tamper is that there is a bit of a lip around the edge to help ensure that your tamp is level to the rim of the basket - and that's all I'm looking for. In fact, I ended up removing the spring, as it can be a bit difficult to clean the tamper when coffee gets trapped in the middle. It's worked fine for my stock 54mm Breville unpressurized basket, as well as my 14-16g IMS basket. The fit is 99% spot on - maybe a tiny bit of grounds might get untamped at the basket edges, but it's definitely a better fit compared to the stock tamper.
