E5577 White 4G Low-cost Travel Wi-Fi, Super-Fast Portable Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot – Long-lasting Battery

This was bought for using at home for my broadband instead of the usual telephone plus broadband service. It was not the easiest thing to set up, the instructions were not good. But I find that anything that comes from China is the same. But now I have got it working properly it works great. The speed is good, and I can watch catch up TV on the internet without a problem. The only issue is the battery. I bought this as it said it lasted 6 hours. But I was finding that this depends on your usage. If you set your programs to update automatically it runs the battery down, even if you are not using it. Also, it was set up to switch off when it was not being used for any length of time. I had to disable this function as I had to keep switching it on when I did want to use it. This was a pain. I can understand why it was set up this way. But it was no good for my type of usage. I found an updated app and downloaded it. I could set it up better using this. I have got it plugged into the USB point permanently to keep the battery at 100%.

easy to change the sim if traveling abroad, easy and practical for all those times when you want your own wifi, or can't get onto anyone else's.(and I had those times when free wifi just wasn't accessible). if there is a signal then a hotspot is the way to go! And this device has been reliable and simple to use. And not ridiculously expensive either.

Returned because it is not dual band as stated in the product listing. It is single band 2.4Ghz. Found out only after I got it and couldn’t change to 5Ghz. Couldn’t increase the wifi speed no matter how much I toyed with the settings (was on 4G Three network through Smarty), limited channels available (6-11), would only ever get an average 7-8Mbps down but a whopping 20Mbps up. Not adequate speeds for home use - I suggest you shell out a extra £50 and get yourself a proper Cat 7 Huawei dual band router which is what I did and now my Internet speeds are up to 30Mbps download. Despite all that, it worked well for what it is made for (ie. cheap internet on the go shared between multiple devices) and actual device was good to use with respect to ease in setting up, easy to change settings Huawei AI life app, digital screen tells you how many devices connected and how much data has passed through and can display QR code for easy connection to the wifi device. For that I’ll leave review at 4 stars even though it didn’t suit my needs.

This little dongle saved my life on the Isle of Wight holiday last month . I bought a 50 gb pre loaded data only card from three , also from Amazon and it loaded with no worries . Take a picture of the little data sticker before you put in the battery and card . Easy to link to . I didn’t bother with all the changing the password palaver . It worked faultlessly. My 13 year old Daughter was able to access the net which kept her very happy lol … me too . 50gb lasted from Sat afternoon to Thursday evening then ran out . Recommended

Read all the reviews and expected it to be straightforward. It was not easy to use... First: the seal on the box was broken and dirty so I guess I got one already returned. The screen is tiny and hard to read, as are the very basic instruction. There are 3 password on the basic screen. You need the second bit nothing told is that. You have to download an app that my phone blocked as suspicious & dangerous. 4 frustrating hours later we had exhausted all possible solutions. It would not pair with the sim we put in it nor our phones. We returned it and got a refund. Not able to comment on coverage or speed as it never worked I bought a different model from Argos the same day and it paired with the sun cards on second. No app needed

3 stars because I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but this came in a plain brown box, not a branded one. A big problem is the fact that there were no instructions with it. After looking at the description, I see it says it should include 1x quick start. I eventually figured it out and then I noticed a pdf in the item description page. This does not help much though because it appears to be the instructions for a different model.

Works well in a low signal area. Came with no instructions, so I had to work it out for myself, quite basic to work. Press the main button on the front, then press the small button on the top to get the menu and settings. It's a good idea to contact Huawei and ask for an instruction book/manual. As I sometimes point out, I'm a 78-year-old woman if I can do it the clever young geeks can.

Used in our van while travelling. Proved very effective on the European continent providing a strong and consistent connection. However, from our experience Europe has better data connections than the UK. Even in mountainous areas of Norway we had a good signal.

Ein großartiger mobiler Router. Hat mir in Südkorea mit der entsprechenden Sim-Card zuverlässige Dienste geleistet. Die Verbindungen waren stabil, zuverlässig und schnell. Es konnten mehrere Geräte gleichzeitig genutzt werden, was super praktisch war. Die Akkulaufzeit betrug ca. 6h, was etwas knapp war über den Tag. Ich hatte mir angewöhnt das Gerät halt bei Nichtbenutzung auszuschalten. Angeschaltet war es innerhalb von einer Minute. So ist man locker einen ganzen Tag durch gekommen. Platziert hatte ich es im Rucksack, was keinerlei Probleme machte, da es kompakt und leicht ist. Im Betrieb wird das Gerät zwar spürbar und deutlich warm, jedoch habe ich keine Nachteile dadurch erfahren. Das allgemeine Handling war sehr einfach und mit der Anleitung sehr schnell eingerichtet. Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut, klare Empfehlung !

Travelled around British Columbia in a camper van for 3 Months this summer from Vancouver Island to the Rocky Mountains. The provider was Rogers. Lots of time spent in the Back country wilderness. Generally 2-Bars or more got me a good fast connection. Excellent product .
