Plastic Treasure Map

I got this for my little pirate for his birthday (which is soon). I know he will love it! I think the map is sturdy for little pirates! I however have got it to be put in a frame to go on his wall with the rest of his pirate themed bedroom. I may just buy another one that he can play with as it is excellent value for money.

I have a 3 year old nephew who loves pirates, so I ordered some pirate dress up stuff and accessories as a surprise for him. Planned to take him to the park and let him "follow" this map to some treasure hidden beneath a bush in my local park. The map I received is smaller than the measurements given in the item description, it is A4 brown card with a greyscale map. I admit I didn't read the product reviews on this before buying as I assumed with a map you get what you see, not like I needed to check it's safety or sturdiness right? I saw a bright, colourful, fun looking map with authentic looking worn/dyed edges and thought "There's no way I could print one that good, I'll spend a couple of pounds on it." Complete waste of money. I'll spend tomorrow rubbing a wet tea bag over a sheet of paper and making a map for him, in fact I may as well make it a craft project to do with him. It will be more fun, and even if I let him roll with it and do it all by himself the end product will be of far superior quality than this piece of junk. Make your own people, this really, really isn't worth it.

This should have been our path to great wealth and riches. However be aware that very little instructions come with this map so it is really hard the determine where to start. On several occasions we thought landmarks matched the map. And we have dug many deep holes at the supposed x-marked spots. All in vein so far. The only thing I got out of it so far are blisters on my hands and severe backache. But we will keep trying. The map is sturdy so it can be taken on many missions under different conditions. And it is colourful with a clear print. The printed compass marks are helpful, but I just wish Amazon was a bit more forthcoming with directions and hints. Why would they sell treasure maps for treasures that are impossible to find??

Ok first off the map itself is a bit rubbish and of lower quality than I expected, plus it looks much worse than the photo. Why 5 stars? because my daughter and nephew absolutely LOVED it and spent an astonishing amount of time playing with the map as a focus. I wouldn't normally give a product I think as inferior to what it is described as 5 stars, but it deserves it purely for the amount of great play it help produce.

Not that good quality picture shows it being light when I got it its actually so dark cant really see it not worth the money to be honest.

Absolutely rubbish, looks like a photo copy. Not a plastic front or a felt back and didn’t come in the packaging as advertised. Very disappointed as was my young grandson 🤬

My 4 year old boy loves all things Pirate. We bought him a Captain Hook costume for Christmas and at the eleventh hour he declared he'd like a treasure map from Santa. Quick search on computer and bingo - found this map at great price and previous review of durability. Delivered very quickly considering December weather and Jnr loves it.

Bought this for my 5 year old son, I'd written a 'note' from Captain Hook asking my son to look after it for him as he was being chased by a crocodile! He loves it! It's durable material like waxy paper. Well worth the few pounds and arrived really quickly. A must for all pirate lovers. ARRRRRRRR!

Arrr, maties... Legend be havin' it that before Redbeard set sail for Tuna Island, he raided a galleon of all it's doubloons! With the Commodore hot on his tail, he sought out a place to bury his booty before scuttlin' off to rest his booty! Harr harr harrrrrrrrrrr! That be a little pirate joke! After buryin' his treasure, he dipped the tip of his hook in ink and began to scrawl this map. Once in port, he murdered his crew so them scalawags could never return to Sigmoid Island and molest his booty! What he wasn't knowin' was that me great great great grand pappy was in his crew and escaped the massacarrrrrrrrrr... My great great great grand pappy ran and hid under a pile of bloomers that had been left by a few wenches that were brought along to service the crew at a port they penetrated in a storm! Once Redbeard was off the ship, great great great grand pappy broke into Redbeard's cabin and stole the map along with some rum and a few ledgers that actually turned out to be books full of naughty drawings of various cabin boys in compromisin' positions (usually beneath Redbeard himself whose carpet really did match the drapes)! But anyway, havin' salt in me veins and a hunger for buried treasure, I went to searchin' every low-budget diner and fillin' out every kids' menu with crayons when I finally rediscovered this map! Fer bein' a old treasure map, it's very sturdy and fun ta work with! After findin' me treasure, I use it to hide treasures for me little ankle biters and draw landmarks on this here map so they can run around and hunt their own treasures! This here map... It be fun a kitschy for the childrens! It ain't got many uses but as a toy and a placemat, but it still be fun! An' best you be rememberin', X marks the spot... It be an X, not a staaarrrrrrrrrrr....

Compré este mapa para la fiesta de mi bebé, resultó muy útil porque la impresión es buena y es como plástico, entonces se manchó del betún del pastel, lo lavamos y quedó como si nada, sin dudas a mi bb le gustará jugar con él cuando esté mas grande y nos servirá como accesorio para alguna otra fiesta pirata. La verdad si es algo pequeño pero vale la pena.

Bon produit, idéal pour une chasse au trésor.

Had I known this would be the only gift my 4 year old needed, I could have held off on the other birthday presents! This has been hours of fun for our kids who use it at home, in the yard and in the park, to find treasure and avoid pirates. The quality is better than I anticipated, hard to rip and water-repellant.
