Excellent game, the gasp as I opened the box ...
Excellent game, the gasp as I opened the box from my 11 year old son was almost worth the price alone. Played one game through and already want to play again. Loads of content, quick learning curve. Good balance between luck and strategy. great play board and nice mini's the main characters are very good the other pawns are a little less quality but would still look great if painted. Lots of scope for replays as 6 main characters plus different scenarios in the instructions. Already looking for expansions for this fab game. At this price £13.98 very very good value when compared to other board games like Wrath of Ashardalon. The latter as good as it is, it has more minis of better quality and thicker game tiles but its 3 times the price but its not 3x more fun!!If you like fantasy board games put this on your shopping list now :)

Great stock of mini's for D&D
BUY IT NOW!35 unique sculpt mini’s for £8.50?5 with spell effects?Even if you aren’t going to play the game itself, of the three Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers sets, this is the best price for the number of mini’s you get. And there’s quite a variety.5 Prepainted minis with spell effects:Chandra Nalaar – Good for a fire focused caster.Liliana Vess – Necromancer, Death Cleric, any sort of dark themed caster.Jace Beleren – Any caster.Gideon Jura – Maybe a Bard, Cleric. If you’re crafty, give him a weapon instead of the spell effect and he’d make a decent fighter model.Nissa Revane – Very fitting for a Druid. Repaint for another caster type.30 unpainted, unique sculpt mini’s:3 Elven Archers3 Earth Elemental / Treants3 Zombie Warriors – Armoured and armed with axes. Could be used for non zombies.3 Blighted Reavers – Larger, unarmed / armoured zombies. Possible ogres or larger creature.3 Fire Cats – Repaint for any cat type creature or keep them as fire elemental types.3 Phoenix’ – Same as above3 Leyline Phantoms – Clear blue, four armed creatures3 Illusionary Projections – Mirror image, invisibility or paint for more caster minis.3 Kor Hookmasters – Good for Rogues or maybe even Monks3 Rhox Veterans – Rhino Folk. The cardboard ruins and hexgrid map are decent enough for some variety in your maps and scenery if you want. It’s a great price for what you’re getting.Buy it for the mini’s, if not for the game.

Value for money!
I ordered this game as I am a huge fan of the Magic the Gathering universe and have played the card game for many years. I read several reviews that rated the game as average but decided to take the plunge because of its prince. After unboxing and just being pleased with the components (any Dungeons and Dragons fan should grab this for some value minis!) Me and a friend gave the rulebook a read took the game for a spin. We were pleasantly surprised that it was really quite fun! Is it the best game you have ever played? No. Is it a good fun game that will occasionally be pulled out for a laugh? Most definitely. If you can get this for £10 like I did, I highly recommend the purchase, it is definitely top value.

So much fun!
My partner and I are huge Magic the Gathering fans so had to purchase this for last Christmas for him and it has been one of the best received gifts as we play it almost once a week! The quality is top notch, I love the figures and the booklet that comes with it. It is easy to read and understand and you don't have to be a Magic fan to get into this! I love that the playing cards look like Magic deck cards which is a lovely touch! fantastic buy and already looking into into purchasing the expansion.

Great board game, miniatures, spells and strategy with the "Magic the Gathering" feeling intact.
This board game is simply amazing! I really like magic the gathering but I gave up playing ages ago because I was not happy with the business model and I found myself spending too much money on it. This game however, combines pretty well some of the strategies of spell casting with miniatures to have all the magic the gathering feeling in a self contained board game. It is also a quick game, you can play a game 1vs1 in less than an hour even on your first time. More players will take a bit more of time but you sure will play a few games in an afternoon and that is a plus for me. Thanks to that even my non-geek girlfriend loves it. It is true the material of the miniatures is not the best but the price is so I can leave with it.As a final comment: There is also an expansion pack (shadows of Innistrand) but can be played as an stand alone game. They also added a few additional nice features such as pylons and they revisited the rulebook and made more useful comments (this one was a bit unclear some times). The best thing you can do is buy both as they can be combined or start with the other if you prefer. Anyway you will not regret it.

Something's missing.
It's an interesting concept but in my opinion it's not played out perfectly. it's similar to a watered down Warhammer but ready to play, the miniatures are nice. the game feels a bit lacking with this base set but for a decent price(I paid about 15) it's not a terrible game just missing something. The rules are a bit tricky to understand I ended up on YouTube trying to understand a couple of the rules.

GREAT BOARD GAME!!
Good value for money. I have the feeling that rules and play system could be improved. Good thing, you can improvise and adapt them a bit. The manual is not the best, they could work a bit more on it to make it more understandable (with examples of different situations) and so on. Overall is a good game for what I pay for it. I do recommend it although I think there should be better options around (I am not an expert at all in boardgames) . Is a good try anyway, once I play a bit more I will consider getting expansions. After a few plays I added a new star. Great fun for two player game and loads of strategy with characters (planeswalkers), cards, and army cards. Sometimes rules can be a bit confusing as I said before. Recommendable

Great game but chintzy on the extras....still 5 stars for how fun it is.
Pros: This is a very good miniatures game based on the heroscape rules and compatible w/ all the pieces. Lots of versatility when you add house rules. I use this game and its expansions for social groups that I organize for teens. The kids love the game and frankly so do I. If you can find extra copies on sale, I suggest buying another copy, if only to get more of the tiles and map pieces. If you go on Amazon and looks for compatible Heroscape parts, it will cost you a lot more than this game on sale. You will enjoy having the extra parts and find your games will get a lot more creative.Cons: No crossover w/ Magic the Gathering card game. This is only MTG in name, it is not compatible w/ any of your MTG cards. It looks like Hasbro gave up on this series w/ only 2 expansions. So much potential here if they would only sell extra heroes and tiles. Very cheap on the included extras. Hasbro only included a few tiles and no other landscape items....in Heroscape you can build forts, forests, jungles etc etc. There is room for a lot of creativity and in Arena of the planeswalkers, you get the bare minimum of parts thus my suggestion of loading up on the base game with expansions and an extra base game if it is on sale. Your maps will become larger and battles legendary!

Muy buen valor por el precio
Lo compré principalmente por la cantidad de miniaturas que vienen con el juego, pero además la cuadrícula y el juego de mesa en si son espectaculares, sobretodo por el precio.
