The thickness is not only perfect for yoga and other floor work
I have done T25, Insanity, P90X and P90X3, initially using the square interlocking floor mats in my garage, which still made my knees ache a bit despite landing on the balls of my feet and touching down the way Shaun and Tony advised. Now, when I bought this Beachbody jump mat, it was to support me working out indoors on tiled and laminate floors during the winter season (too cold in the garage). I was, at first, sceptical as the jump mat is much thinner than the half-inch thick foam mats, so I presumed that this would give less absorption for plyo jumps. How wrong was I! The thickness is not only perfect for yoga and other floor work, but it makes my previous interlocking floor feel like jumping on sponge (not good) and - BIG NEWS - I have no more aching knees at all. Since last October, when I bought this plyo mat, I have followed the advice of another review on here and bought a second one in a half-price sale, so I now have doube the floor area for both vertical and horizontal manoeuvres. As a 41-year-old who has lost over two-and-a-half stone in weight thanks to the support of this Beachbody mat, my advice to those who are looking for a mat to work out on TILED OR LAMINATE FLOORING (not sure this will grip as effectively on garage concrete or carpet - but, then, what does?) is: 'Do not waste your time with anything else. This has saved my knees and is an expense worth paying for. There is no substitute on the market.' My second advice is: get two.

Excellent Mat but expensive at full price
I love this Jump Mat! In fact, I've had my eye on it for months but at £65 its was way too expensive! Fortunately for me, it was recently on offer as part of the limited summer Beachbody sale for £25 - bargain! I snapped one up.The Mat is great. Seriously good. Its made from a decent strong, dense rubber that works exceptionally well for everything I throw at it. Insanity, P90X3, Max:30, 21DFX, Yoga etc. I use it over a wooden floor and it sticks really well, no sliding about and provides an additional level of comfort/safety for Plyo exercise and also floor based stuff like abs, yoga, push-ups, planks, mountain climbers etc .I can even drop weights on it where previously I would have been stressing about damaging my lovely new floor! I'm 6'2" and this mat is easily big enough for me stretched out. It also catches my sweat and tears whilst working out which must be better than spreading around home furnishing. A quick wipe down and it rolls up easily and lives in the handy slimline cardboard box that was supplied with it and stored away neatly under my stairs. My wife is secretly very jealous of my mat, she continues on with her Tesco yoga mat as even at £25 sale price she thought it was too much for a mat. I can assure you it wasn't and I know she will probably end getting one at some point too!In summary - an excellent all round mat, exceptional quality that will stand the test of time no matter what you throw at it but expensive at £65. If price bothers you like me, wait for the Beachbody sale which I'm sure will come around again before long. At roughly a 1/3rd of the original rrp its a bargain!

Great for knees but EXPENSIVE for the size
I think the mat is great and I certainly feel more confident doing the workouts P90X and T25 (I do both programmes together). My knees and ankles are better protected and the comfort and grip of the mat means I can workout barefoot which adds a more organic element to the muscle mind connection. I do think that just about anyone should buy this mat before doing high impact workouts - how much are good knees worth? The noise proofing is useful for neighbour issues if you do, as most people do, early morning/late night workouts. On the down side I do think Beachbody products in Europe are too expensive. I recognise that their primary market is the US but there is definitely potential to expand in the EU and UK, due to Beachbody on Demand, something they also need to improve and ensure works over the electricity oscillation issue (50/60 hz)! I would hope that Beachbody read this review, and others from Amazon UK, and consider price. I think a reasonable price would be 40 pounds. Another alternative would be to offer a free CD of bonus workouts from T25 or P90+, for example. Another alternative would be to offer a bigger mat as I now have to workout sideways to the TV for lateral moves or constantly change the mat's orientation, which defeats the object of not stopping for 25 mins!I do think Beachbody need to treat us in Euroope like they treat their US customers. That aside, good product, albeit hefty investment!!

Perfect for Insanity workouts
This is exactly what I had been looking for! I have spent quite a lot of money on different mats in an effort to find one that stays put during workouts in my living room. I've tried different types of yoga mats and interlocking tile mats but all of them moved too much or flew out from beneath me which is dangerous. After starting Insanity Max:30, I desperately needed a mat that would hold through fast-paced burpees and jumping in different directions and comfortable enough for floor work.I thought this mat seemed quite expensive but as it is a BeachBody product and Insanity is a BeachBody programme, I decided to risk it. And the risk paid off! Considering how much I have spent trying to find a mat like this, it is more than worth the money and I wish I'd had it during Jillian Michael's Body Revolution! This mat is heavier than it looks and weighs a lot more than any of my other yoga mats. One side is quite smooth and the other side is textured to keep it in place on the floor. It is also larger than any of my yoga mats. I am more than happy with the size of it but I am only 5'1" tall.I work out on solid oak flooring and this mat is perfect!! It stays put through all of the intense Insanity Max:30 workouts which involve a lot of jumping around. There was some very slight movement during heavily plyometric circuits but only a centimetre or so.One very happy customer!
