Hello, ideal world is from 300W to 650W. It also works with less (never less than 250W) or more power (800W) but our recommendation is from 350 to 600. Then you need to experiment with "High Speed" vs "Normal or Low Speed". We recomend second one. Can you do soya milk with this?

Yes, but as with any other method, the beans need to be soaked for 24 hours then boiled before you can use them to make milk. And you need a stick blender or high speed blender as well. Having said that, this bit of kit helps you make wonderful milk and their recipe pdf is full of brilliant recipes and ideas for using up residue. Worth every penny. I use it almost every day.

Is the soya mik it makes suitable for frothing (for coffee)? I've made soya milk by hand from soya beans and it doesn't froth.

Sorry, I don't know. I use it for oat, almond, nuts .... When I use the hand mixer it makes some foam but it doesn't last long.

What is the benefit of the wooden mortar over the plastic?

There are some comments that the plastic eventually cracks and get milk trapped in it that doesn’t come out when washing. I think in the long term, I would prefer wood for both hygiene and environment.
