Samsung Xpress M2026W A4 Mono Wireless, Black & White Laser Printer (20 ppm)

If you are a person like me who needs to print quite rarely (every few months). Its best to ditch one of those inkjet printers and switch to this black and white laser. You won't have the issue of going to a local store to get colour ink just because your printer wont let you print black and white without a coloured ink cartridge.Being a wireless printer it does really add to being a convenient printer for home use. I'm a bit of a tech guy but it did take me a while trying to understand how i can link to the printer from my phone. Certain apps don't connect to the printer for remote printing. I landed a hit after using Cloud Print (android) and i was able to set the remote printer up. This was pretty easy to set up when i downloaded the app.Print quality:General documents, notes, personal use. Its perfect - I've used it for a few months now and it has been fine.Easy to Install:Its pretty much a plug and play device - my only gripe is the difficulty to try set up remote printing. (note this is slightly different from wireless printing which is included in the instructions)Easy to use:When its set up you press the power and send a document through. Just wait a few minutes for the printer to heat up and the documents print almost instantly.Would recommend to anyone for home use as one of the affordable best printers to purchase.

This is my first laser printer, having previously suffered the pitfalls and expense of running inkjets for too many years. A friend recommended I try this as he has an older model Samsung and was very impressed with its performance and low running costs. The price was very attractive and encouraged by the many other good reviews plus the fact that I almost never need to print in colour, I decided to take the plunge. The printer arrived the very next day, even though I opted for the 3-5 day free delivery - that was very impressive! I've only had it a few days but I am certainly glad I bought it. Everything about this printer works well. Setup was easy - both USB and wireless - and in just a few minutes I was up and running and able to print from my Mac, iPhone and iPad. Perfect! I'm not sure why other reviewers are having problems with wireless pairing as mine continues to work even after all devices have been turned off for the night and restarted. The speed at which the pages are printed is staggeringly fast, compared with inkjet types and the quality is very impressive, being totally even and extremely sharp text - and that was on the very first print too! No more wasting gallons of ink on endless head-cleaning and alignment prints - this thing just works!

Firstly, this is amazing value - a laser printer for £60! I remember when they cost thousands. Lasers beat inkjets on print quality, plus the toner doesn't dry out when you are not using it. Printed text looks great, as is the speed, and it's a nice compact machine.If you are connecting via USB cable, it's a breeze to set up - plug it in and you are pretty much there. If that's you, you can stop reading now!However, setting up the wifi was another story altogether...I've been working in IT for nearly 40 years and this one almost had me defeated, and it took me half a day to find out the solution. Even the Samsung technical support couldn't help and told me to return it as DOA.The problem was that the setup program 'Samsung Easy Wireless Setup' didn't work for me - although it sees my printer via USB and finds my wifi SSID, it was not able to configure my router settings in the printer, despite me trying with WEP, WPA, WPA2. This was using either of the two setup connection options, USB or Wifi Direct. Every time, it just said 'Connecting Failure - Invalid Network Security', even though I was 100% certain my settings were correct. Also, using the routers WPS push button facility didn't work for me. Finally, I tried AirPrint from my iPhone - didn't find the printer - and nor did the Samsung Mobile Print phone app. I was about to give up. I'm using an iMac with macOs Sierra, by the way.First thing to bear in mind: this printer only works with B, G or N wifi on 2.4 GHz band, so if you only have the more modern 'AC' 5GHz band wifi on a new router, you might need to consider enabling the older 2.4 GHz band (my TP Link Archer C9 router is dual band hence this is possible).After some searching it seems that the way to get the wifi settings to work with a router is to disable the Wifi Direct Print feature in the printer. (Wifi Direct Print is when you want your computer to talk directly to the printer without going via your router. I wanted to connect the printer to my router wifi). To do this, download and install the Samsung 'Samsung Easy Printer Manager'. Next, go into the Advanced mode, Network Settings, and find the options for Wifi Direct. This is ON by default, and you need to switch it off and save your settings. If you are connecting the printer to your router's wifi, you don't need Wifi Direct Print and won't miss it.Once you do this, as if by magic, you are now able to configure your printer for your router wifi using the 'Samsung Easy Wireless Setup' program, and then you can unplug the USB cable and chuck it in a cupboard, and connect from your computers using wifi. Hooray!Although I'm still feeling smug for getting it working, this was ridiculously frustrating and beyond most peoples ability or patience and Samsung really need to deal with this problem. The printer firmware is the latest v3.00.01.23 and network version v6.01.00. Samsung Easy Wireless Setup version was v1.4.25, January 2019

Having read reviewers had problems setting up wifi printing I was prepared for the worst. I have a Mac Mini with OSX Serria and a Bootcamp partition running Windows 10. I plugged in the usb lead (supplied in the box) and switched it on, loaded the cd software cable and it set itself up with very few questions. It even found my BT router wifi key from somewhere without promping. It found and added the iPad without problem.It then responded to test prints fairly... quickly from both Windows and iPad. Printing was fast and the print quality clear and sharp although slightly lighter and thinner than ink jet and office lasers. That said it is on the 'eco' setting so expected. Not the quietest of printers but acceptable.I then set it up on the Mac over the wifi and again, no difficulty.I read one review that stated you cannot cancel a print run. I mistakenly printed a large log file and held down the only button which stopped it printing and cleared the printer queue. I do turn it off overnight and it remebers all settings each day.Unable to comment on toner replacement, etc., but will add to review if it is unreasonable.
