A bit slow to warm up, but the long nozzle is excellent
This is a very good glue gun, and I am slightly embarrassed to admit I've bought 3 of them so far, for use with different types of glue stick. What I like:- The Long nozzle. Very often, I've struggled to use other glue guns because they don't allow me to place glue accurately into awkward areas. This glue gun solves that with a very useful long nozzle that allows you to place glue precisely in little nooks and crannies. Seriously, don't under-estimate how useful that is. The Trigger: The trigger action is smooth and allows a (user-dependent) consistent bead of glue to be applied. The Lead: The lead is a little over 2m long which is long enough to be useful without being a pain to store. What bothers me:- Slow Heat-up: The glue gun has quite a slow heat-up time, in my opinion. It's actually not that bad for a mains glue gun, but I also own Bosch's excellent cordless glue pen (for 7mm glue sticks) which heats up in 15 seconds and is very quick and convenient to use. Wasteful feed mechanism: This is why I own more than one of these guns. The feed mechanism pushes from the back, and so you have to feed a fair bit of a glue stick in before any glue comes out. Then if you want to change the type of glue stick, you have a fair bit of the existing glue stick to get through before the new colour/type of glue emerges. This is particularly annoying when you have to feed a new stick in to allow the gun to push through the first stick, and then the new stick can't be removed easily without risk of damaging the feed mechanism. This is more of a pain than it sounds, a decent glue sticks aren't that cheap and cheap glue sticks do not perform well. Hence, I ended up buying another couple of these guns when Amazon had a sale on. All in all, the ownership experience is pretty good. The glue-gun works well and if you register promptly after purchase, Bosch give you an extended 3-year warranty. Even at full price, they're fair value, given the usefulness of the long nozzle and that 3-year warranty, but keep an eye on the price, because they do drop under £20 fairly regularly (though not for long) and they're a bargain if you can grab one when they do. Do consider the Bosch Glue pen too though, as the rapid heat-up time and cordless convenience make a really appealing package.

Excellent Glue gun probably better than most
I have used this hot-glue gun for about a year now. I don't like reviewing after just one or two uses as I feel some things don't always show up straight away. Overall 4.5 stars (can't show half stars so it looks like a 5*) because it's pretty good but has a couple of small niggles. Would I buy again if it broke - Yes. Why? a) - it seems quite well made, robust and has thus far proved reliable. b) - because it puts out a relatively high volume of adhesive, quickly - meaning I can stick quite a lot of stuff, quickly, without waiting for glue to heat up. c) - it uses 11mm diameter sticks rather than the 7mm sticks (i.e. as found in 'toy' glue guns like the sub £5 model I replaced with this Bosch PKP 18E). That's more than twice the cross sectional area so more than twice the capacity output all other things being equal. d) - heater is greater wattage than many competitors (so quicker start and more volume all other things being equal). f) - access to longer sticks (in 11mm) so less time spent inserting new 'follow on' stick. g) - has a slim metal nozzle (easier to poke into narrow slots) which feels more durable than competitors using plastic. I did a fair bit of research before buying and concluded that this was one of better models available - notably the heater in this was bigger than most and it struck a reasonable balance between cost and likely performance. It's not perfect so half a star off for small niggles.... 1) won't easily stand up and often falls over - a bench stand or holster might help - but would add bulk and cost. 2) dribbles a small amount of glue from nozzle, when left standing - workaround is to switch off when not using, but this necessitates waiting up to a minute before one can re-use 3) won't easily store back in supplied box as power cord is a tad too stiff (needed to cover power use) and plus a bit big Overall niggles are minor and not 'show stoppers'. Overall this Bosch PKP 18ER is significantly better than my 'toy' 7mm stick gun it replaced. Because it works properly I find I use it a lot more often than ever I did my cheap/nasty 'toy' glue gun. Bottom line if you are serious about using hot-melt glue then get a serious industrial grade glue dispenser gun.

The current cream of glue guns !
I have had numerous glue guns and had lost faith in them due to buying glue guns that "looked the part" but ended up being of poor build quality and ineffective in the delivery of glue. Still holding boxes of glue sticks acquired over the years I kept hunting because the principle is good and very useful. Because the design of the Bosch glue gun, against some of it's competitors, did not inspire me, I had passed it bye until I recently noted the good reviews for this product on Amazon.....so I took a chance. Result!....this has been a very good "best buy" for me and I am confident will be for you. The metal delivery nozzle is approx. 25mm long by 3mm dia...which has a nice soft black silicon shroud as it joins the main body This nozzle design allows you to see exactly where you are placing the glue accurately and can also be used to remelt glue just applied. Once the glue gun is up to it's very hot temperature a gentle squeeze of the trigger allows the glue to flow smoothly and stop on release of the trigger.Importantly constant operating temperature is maintained whilst switched on, by the guns circuitry,..it is always ready and a dream to use! On top of every thing else it also has a good quality 2 metre butyl rubber/silicon mains lead. After switching it off from the mains supply you can even continue to use the glue gun for a while afterwards....fantastic! To sum up..... this tool is one of those that, "if I broke or lost it, I would replace it", without hesitation. If there was a case of "looks can be deceiving" this is one....it may look dated but boy does it do the job well! ....and ladies, this is one of those "boys toys"...penknife,torch,trainset, glue gun!

An Essential Tool for DIY Enthusiasts
As an avid DIY enthusiast in the UK, I recently purchased the Bosch Home and Garden Glue Gun PKP 18 E, and it has become an indispensable tool in my projects. I primarily use it for crafts, home repairs, and minor woodworking tasks. What I absolutely love about this glue gun is its quick heating time, allowing me to get started on my projects almost instantly. The ergonomic design and comfortable grip make it easy to handle for extended periods without any discomfort. The precision nozzle ensures precise application, enabling me to achieve clean and professional-looking results. However, there are a couple of aspects I found slightly disappointing. Firstly, the glue sticks tend to run out quite quickly, requiring frequent replacements, which can be a bit frustrating. Additionally, the power cord could be longer as it sometimes restricts my movement, especially when working on larger projects. Overall, the Bosch Home and Garden Glue Gun PKP 18 E has been a reliable and efficient tool that has greatly enhanced my DIY experience. Its impressive heating time, comfortable grip, and precise application make it a valuable addition to any DIY enthusiast's toolbox. Despite the minor drawbacks, I highly recommend this glue gun for its performance and versatility.

Brilliant. Buy one.
If you're looking for a great quality glue gun then this is it. I've had mine 2 years andit's s still going strong. Ought it to do one or two jobs however its been used for all sorts of glueing , daughters art projects. And in moulds to make things too. It's very useful. Built in stand a great idea, it's robust and gets quickly up to temperature. It doesn't drip except if left on, on the stand for quite a while and never in use the trigger action is very precise and s neat nozzle produces a nice round bead of glue. It's great value and if it gives up I'd buy another as this on has had a loit of use and just as good as it was on day 1. The only variable are the glue sticks. Great bit of kit. Reccomend.

Still the best.
My old glue gun finally went up in a puff of smoke after years of service. Having tried quite a few other makes and returned them because of various issues and poor quality, finally settled on Bosch. Can’t think how I ever managed without one, in all my years of crafting. Ok so it doesn’t have a temperature control nor an on/off switch, but then neither did my old one. The extra length nozzle is what makes this tool so much better for crafting as it becomes a kind of shaping tool as well as an applicator. You can buy extra nozzles but the downside is that the gun has to be warm enough before you can switch them over - a poor safety factor in my opinion. Mine doesn’t drip glue all over the craft area when put aside. However the trick is to learn how to control the flow of glue before putting it down. After a few weeks I decided to try another make as I needed a second gun. It smoked the place out and it definitely wasn’t steam from the glue stick. I wanted another one for colour glue sticks. In the end I just purchased another Bosch and I confess that later on I will probably buy a third to hold a different nozzle. Personally speaking the pros far outweigh the cons and as a crafter of over 40 years the Bosch glue gun comes highly recommended as a “no bells or whistles” straight forward glue gun.

Great corded glue gun, very versatile
This corded glue gun is excellent and I have tried many before as I'm a florist. It heats up quickly and is easy to use with a trigger plus has a pointed long nozzle to get in to small gaps. It has a stand or just as easy to lie flat on an old heat resistant chopping board. Stand can be removed. Only comes with 1 glue stick, but I purchased a box of Bosch sticks and they last a very long time. I am really pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this glue gun not only for floristry but it's very useful to glue things in general.
