Have used this product on multiple trips as an additional mosquito repellent and it has always seemed to work effectively with the number of bites on a night time droppings significantly after use, also the product has a nice citronella scent. Would buy again

It worked reasonably well, didn't prevent bites 100%, however it was low season, not sure how it would stand in high season. after the first bites, I also bought a repellant in a local store as a backup.

Highly recommend this for use as shampoo or body wash. I used this while camping in Mongolia for several weeks and this made all the difference. I only received about 4 bites in the entire time and there was plenty of mosquitoes and horse flies about which my fellow campers suffered from who didn't use this. If I'd used this body wash every day all over I think I would have had no bites (can be tricky when wild camping!). I used the insect repellent (same brand) in small amounts but wasn't really needed unless there were unusually high amounts of insects about. Also used when hiking in some remote parts of the Scottish highlands and did not get a single midge bite or tick in the 2 weeks. The usefulness aside, it functions perfectly well as a shower gel and smells ok. I'm very fussy about shampoo and was worried this would really dry my hair out. I paired it with a simple leave in conditioner and it worked perfectly fine and really stopped flies buzzing round my face even with the additional product added to my hair. This is a great product if you are travelling and even though its a little pricey it goes a long way.

I bought the Incognito Java Citronella Hair and Body Wash to take with me to Spain, planning to use it after showering at the pool. It has a nice, refreshing scent and feels good on the skin. While it does seem to help with insect repellent, I’m not completely sure how effective it is on its own for keeping bugs away. I’ve learned that you need a multi-faceted approach to tackle mosquitoes—like using a spray, burning citronella incense, and using mosquito plugs. My advice is not to rely solely on this product for mosquito protection. It’s a good addition to your defence, but you’ll need other methods to stay bug-free.
