Great buy.
An excellent book, but I find that many books repeat themselves, however this is written by Ms Moura who is from a family of witches practising the Brazilian way and she is so incredibly informative. Well worth a look.

What it is to be not just a Green Witch but a Hereditary one
Ann Moura (Aoumiel) takes us into both the world of Green Witchcraft (a specific nature-based study) and skims through what its like to be a hereditary witch as well, using quotes from both her mother and grandmother. She offers information and advice in an easily read format, covering green practices to comparisons of other religions, and finally skims over her hereditary practice. This is the part that interested me the most but unfortunately was the least of her information. The book would have been much better if she's retained or retold more of the info regarding her mother and grandmother.A book for intermediate as well as beginners, `Green Witchcraft' is filled with interesting folklore, which I always enjoy reading about. What makes a witch a green witch? How does this differ from a ritualistic witch or a coven witch? Why are green witches mostly solitary practitioners? How will you know if you are a hereditary witch? After many interesting and well thought out topics, Ms Moura closes the book with some sample Esbat and Sabbat spells and rituals that are friendly to both solitary and coven practices. Going beyond "nature based", Moura speaks directly of the oldest of the Old Religions, "Green Magic", the base of all types of different witchcrafts out there. Down to the bare bones, so to speak. If you practice another form of the craft, are just looking at the craft, or want to expand your knowledge of the subject, this book is definitely a must read to delve the depths of `Green Magic' and dissolve some of the mysteries and rumors that abound over witchcraft being anti spiritual or even dangerous. Do yourself a favor and pick up this very interesting and well written book on the oldest practices of the craft. Look for more of Moura's books after this one too, but `Green Witchcraft' is an excellent place to start. If nothing else, read it for the folklore and you'll be hooked. Enjoy!

I highly recommend this book , for who ever would like to start the craft . i like to get familiar with what i read and then , i read a second time and it when i start to take my notes to get familiar and be well grounded with it before start to the practical . For me i already work with stones and crystals , cardsI just love it .

I am A beginner and this was VERY informative for me.
This material is very informative. I had epiphany after epiphany while reading this book. Ann Moura starts from scratch which I am so thankful for. The bottom up so to speak. I like how she explains everything without being redundant. She explains the how and the why while still encouraging her readers to change it up a bit to make it our own. No strict formula to follow. I learned so much. This definitely can be read as a stand alone, although it is also used as the textbook to the companion book, Green Witchcraft 3 (the manual) that I am about to start. I have Green Witchcraft 2 (the supplemental text) as well though I am skipping to the Manual (book3) and referencing book 2 as needed. I am eager to start this course! Chapter 7 "Green Rituals" was probably the best for me personally. Among actual rituals given, the different names of the Gods and Goddesses were given and explained. Finally! Also explained in this chapter was the use of Green Witchcraft as a magical practice versus a religion as well as combining the two. Everything I can think of is covered in this book. From Sabbats, Esbats and how to participate in them, The basics of the craft, Tarot and some layouts, Craft holidays (from Samhain to Yule), Different rituals and how to set up Alters, to all the different herbs and why they are used. Seriously informative not just fluff!
