Surpassed my expectations.
I'm only taking into account how this product performs for what I expected. This computer is super fast and well worth what I bought for it. I haven't used the bag yet but I know it'll come in handy later. The mouse is super comfortable, especially for a lefty like me and it runs games so-so-so-so-so-so well. The core i7 and the gtx 1050 are close to top tier for a gaming experience.I love the red backlit keyboard. The surface behind the screen is super cool too.The SSD allows the computer to boot up and run very quickly and smoothly. The 1TB hard drive gives me plenty of memory for all the worksheets, projects and games I use.My only hitch is the fan let's out all the heat out of the left side of the fan, but I guess that's what I get for bring born left handed. I'd usually prefer the heat to be vented out the back of the fan. But it doesn't bother me that much.If you're looking to play triple A titles with decent frames and have some handy peripherals added on this is the PC for you and well worth what I paid for.I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Budget Gaming Laptop (but short battery life)
Have been a casual desktop gamer for many years and this is my first gaming laptop mainly due to the big bargain price (25% off) here. This laptop is definitely not the top spec machine but it handles all the demanding games on the market. An excellent choice for a first gaming laptop. The SSD + HDD combo hit the budget/speed/storage balance right on. The 17.3 inch screen looks great for gaming, the keyboard is responsive and the speakers are loud and clear. The only complaint I have is the short battery life, the quoted 3 hrs was for reference only and under high stress 3D games, very lucky to get 1.5 hrs out of it (minus 1 star here).

Awesome performance - weak screen/battery
PROS:Great laptop for the money - I got it for £750 including a backpack and "gaming" mouse (a normal wired mouse with some lights in).Performance is fantastic from the OS being installed on the SSD not HDD, so boot time from fully off to usable is around 10-12 seconds.Handles the games I have thrown at it very well.ASUS Command Centre is a fun little gimmick which is actually quite helpful to be able to adjust various settings and features.CONS:I read a lot about the screen before I bought it, had I seen it in a shop first it *might* have been enough to put me off. Fine if you're looking directly at it, but viewing angles are terrible. Colour reproduction could also be much better.Battery life is very poor (often no more than 90mins) which isn't purely down to size and spec (my work laptop will last 9hrs albeit without a big dedicated GFX card to keep powered up).Fan can get quite loud for no obvious reason (I.e. just using a web browser and word processor together etc, no games or anything too demanding).

Good purchase
Got this laptop about a week ago, works perfect. SSD does a great job, windows starts in a few seconds. Decent battery life as well.

solid investment
really fast with boot up, switch on to chrome in 10 seconds.runs games fairly well, though not gonna run AAA at 60fps at 1080p max, probably medium for most AAA games like Overwatch and Guild Wars 2.screen is really good, and the mouse has a plethora of settings with ROG armoury. the bag is pretty big so its good to use as a conventional rucksack.Overall i would say this laptop is solid. I got it for 999.99, which is a little steep, but definitely a worthy investment if youre a student who like to play video games

Not working on arrival just like the other reviews
Simular to other reviews, laptop was dead on arrival with a disk error. After going through steps suggested by asus to repair it it was suggested I return it. I have submitted for a replacement but heared nothing about it since. After seeing the other reviews I plan to ask for a refund and buy something else.

Brilliant when working, not very durable
Laptop was super fast turning on and off. Worked great for photo editing which is what I got it for. Was also fairly lightweight for its size which was good as used it for mapping my car.Worked faultlessly for 8 months, then one day the screen decided not to work. It operated fine on an external display. It had been sent off to asus for repair, was returned with no network cards working, sent off again and returned with a faulty HDD. They seem unable to repair it properly so the durability isn’t great, even with the manufacture having issues. I am currently looking for a new laptop after asus bought this back off me.

Good laptop when it was working, but false advertising by ASUS
Laptop was misadvertised as having a two year warranty. The graphics card failed after a year and ASUS would not accept a warranty repair even though the website states two year warranty. The actual manufacturer warranty is one year, which is awful for the amount of money spent for this laptop. Thankfully amazons great customer service helped me out and offered me a full refund.
