I heard a lot of good things about the SheaMoisture brand and also about this product in particular. I typically use the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In as my deep conditioner and I love it but I was running low and thought I'd give this a try and it was well worth the money!It smells AMAZING. It smells like peppermint and shea so even though it says castor oil don't worry about an unappealing scent. Coconut Oil is the third ingredient which is nice because a lot of products say they contain this and that but it's usually low on the ingredients list which indicates not a lot of it is actually in the product. It also has shea butter, avocado oil, mango seed butter, olive fruit oil, peppermint leaf extract and castor seed oil.I have long relaxed hair and I shampoo my hair twice, rinsing with warm water each time and then I blot away the excess water when I'm done with a 100% cotton t-shirt then apply a thick even coating of the deep conditioner to my hair starting at the ends, then my hairline, then my roots, making sure all of my hair is covered. Then I put my hair in a plastic disposable shower cap and leave it on for an hour with no heat then I rinse it out with warm water.I typically follow up my deep conditioner with the matching conditioner to my shampoo, leave that on for 5 mins then rinse but I find with this deep conditioner it's not necessary. I apply my leave-in spray, a tiny bit of coconut oil then a leave-in cream to seal and roller set my hair because I don't like using heat. The next morning when my hair is dry I take the rollers out and my hair is super soft and bouncy and full of volume. My ends feel revived and my hair is silky.I will say it doesn't make my hair shiny, but I moisturize my scalp with a mixture of 1/2 coconut oil and 1/2 castor oil and brush it out with a paddle brush and shine is restored. I also recommend this if you have relaxed hair because it helps to soften new growth.I will most definitely be repurchasing this!

So I just got this magic today (6/17/2015). I ordered it two days ago, so shipping was great(maybe because I have Prime). The packaging was nice and secure. When I received it, I was eager to try to out as soon as possible, and really put all these positive reviews to the test. First off, my hair is natural 3b/c. But due to heavy straightening and not using protection, my hair was damaged. I was able to get my hair looking better due to going completely natural, but a few months ago, decided to bleach my ends. I've tried to keep them moisturized to the max because I know what bleaching does to hair, but nothing seemed to keep my ends from frizzing up, looking matted and breaking off! I saw the reviews on this, and decided to buy, in hopes that it would show my hair some love, by promoting growth and repairing my ends. The product smells lovely, not too strong, and kinda like vanilla. I really like the consistency as well, its almost like a creamy pudding, and not runny or too thick at all.After a half hour, I washed this out, and dried it with a T-shirt. I immediately noticed my hair was looking a little nicer. When I went to style it, my hair was very easy to part and come through. AND IT WAS SOOOO SOFT, and my ends didn't feel as bad as they usually do when I combed through it this time! All I did was put some Argan Oil on my ends and twist it up. Gonna use weekly and hope for improving results. :)

I have 3b curly hair and am a hardcore Shea Moisture fan. I have tried many brands over the years but this brand works the best by far. I got my other friends into the brand as well, and unanimously we all ditched Carol's daughter in favor for this brand. Instantly, I notice my hair becomes softer and more hydrated/less frizzy after I use this, even if it's only in my head for 5-7 minutes. It smells absolutely lovely and the price point is a real bargain for the payout of healthy, happy, hair. Plus, it lasts a long time.

This product is like a thick paste, which I like for a hair mask. I do a hair mask once a week, rotating between a hydrating mask and protien. So far this has lasted me about a month and a half, and I can probably get two or three more uses out of it, and my hair is down to my chest, so the price is good for how long it lasts.Sadly I personally don't notice a huge difference in my hair, except it smells like playdough LOL. I've heard it works really well for some people though, so maybe it's just not for me. I have thick, wavy-curly hair.I can't be too hard on Shea Moisture though. Love their products! This one just might not be for me. Don't let that stop you from trying it!

I use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner that can sometimes leave my hair feeling a bit dry. I was looking for something that could help boost my hair's heath and help my hair retain moisture.I have fine hair that has just soft waves, and I was concerned that this hair mask would be too heavy for my hair and leave my hair greasy and weighed down. However, this hair mask was just perfect for my hair!I put this mask on my hair after getting out of the shower. I combed it through, focusing more so on the ends. Then I put a shower cap on and let it sit for about 30 minutes. The product rinsed out without issue, and my hair felt significantly softer and had less frizz once drying.My mother has the same hair type as me, and she tried leaving the mask on overnight. She said it was incredibly difficult to rinse out the next morning, so she will just stick to the instructions next time!Overall a great hair mask for the price. I will definitely be checking out the rest of this line.
