Are these soft enough for front crowns as I find other products a bit too tough and I dont want to damage the crowns. Thanks

I used to use an Oral B product called Ultrafloss which had a 'spongy' texture - does anyone know if is this similar, and what length are the pieces?

Getting old isn't fun is it? Your teeth fall out, your knees hurt. And then you have to go round finding niche products to keep you patched up. I'd hunted around on the high street when my dentist told me I needed to use these after my bridge was installed (he never mentioned this before!). I had no luck. So off to Amazon, and I find them. Not a bad price either, which is good news given the bruising my wallet took at the dentists! Ordered Monday, arrived Wednesday. So far so good.On opening a box, it becomes clear that you need to take care when removing one of the flosses from the inner bag as they all want to come out at once. I'm the sort of person that would end up knotting the bloody lot together given half a chance. With one removed (and a few stuffed back in), I proceed to attempt to "poke" the string at the bottom of the bridge. This turns out to be a lot fiddlier than I expected. The end is firmer than regular floss, but takes some practise to find the right amount of pressure to apply in exactly the right spot. I defy anyone to do it without using a mirror!With the floss through, I readily slid the spongy bit to and fro, and am pleased with the final result.So I give this four stars, based on the excellent delivery, and it doing the job in an albeit fiddly way. My dentist told me to do this flossing once a week, so I've got the best part of 3 years worth of bridge-floss for less than a tenner.

Dentist recommended this for cleaning under a new dental bridge I had fitted. They are great for this purpose and work well for other areas of my mouth too - as its got a fluffy edge, i have also soaked in Corsodyl and then flossed in areas where i have had bleeding gums. They are a piece of dental floss that has a stiff, slightly curved end that leads to a fluffy bit of floss and the other end is just ordinary dental floss. Essentially the stiffened bit makes its easier to thread it between your teeth and it is clear that someone has actually thought this product through.I won't use any other dental floss although do still use interdental brushes as whilst this has a fluffy bit, its not as good as brushes for bigger gaps. I use this mainly for cleaning under the dental bridge and its perfect for this - because its not just a thin wire of floss it s much more comfortable to clean with and less coarse on my gums so for those with sensitive gums it is ideal.Pros - stiff and fluffy bits designed for ease of use and comfortCons - packet is a bit difficult to rip open and this with dexterity issues may have issues getting them out of the packaging.

The first 7cm of this is stiffened to allow you to poke it through a gap between your teeth. Next there is the spongy section measuring 14cm for doing the actual flossing. The rest of the strip is about 38 cm long. I use it to floss my implants. It was recommended by my dentist and it works fine. I cut some of the long part off so there is less to pull through the gaps."}}]}]}
