Good heater with excellent built quality.
This is an excellent product. I first ordered the Delonghi Vento 1.5KW but it turned out to be to small for the room size I was aiming to heat. Moreover, the build quality of the Dragon 4 is much better than the Vento; it is more sturdy build, has better wheels and a more appealing design. The electronic timer works well and even stores the time for a while, which then allows the radiator to be moved around without losing the time and settings. I personally don't use the timer function often therefore I can't say much about it. I think it is reasonable easy to set up. However the analogue timer might overall provide a higher flexibility as the device can turn on and off much more often than the two timings this device is capable. On the other hand I manly chosen this product because of its electric thermostat setting which to me was more important (or at least appealing as it looks fancy). The heat output is excellent and I would say equivalent to my installed 2.5KW electric convection heater that is not oil filled. I do appreciate the ECO function that is built in. The radiator adjusts itself very quickly to the lower power consumption. In the lowest power output position the heater consumes about 1000W/h. Which is only 200W more than the much smaller 1.5KW Vento consumes on minimum setting. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to measure it on higher load as the fuse of my measurement device gave up against the power the dragon was consuming.Although, the electric temperature setting is for me the biggest plus, the device often switches off before the temperature is reached. I believe this is due to the design of the heater that fools the thermostat, as it is usually warmer around the heater than in the entire room. When the heater is on for a longer period the temperature matches the pre-set level very well.As many other people mentioned here, the power lead might be better to be a bit longer. However, it is already much better than the Vento one which was ridiculous short.

Tips on getting rid of the smell
Update: To completely get rid of the overpowering toxic smell - you need to leave the heater switched on constantly for 3 full nights and 4 full days. That is what it took. It is now smell-free. So plug it in, set the clock (you can't set anything else until the clock is set I think). Press the button under the on button to ensure all 3 bars are on. Set the temperature to 28 degrees (that is the maximum it will go and instructions tell you how to do that). Then leave it switched on constantly for four days and 3 nights! With the window open. I wasn't too happy doing this for security reasons and electrical safety but did it anyway. Some people do this bit in a garage until the smell is gone.I had it in a mostly unused room at the front of the house with the window open but the fumes went right through the house the first day if the door was left open. Really awful! What didn't work was leaving it on for 12 hours, switching it on overnight and then leaving it on for another 12 hours. It needs to be on constantly, on the highest temperature until the smell is completely gone (and that took 84 hours! ie 3 days and nights and an extra day). By the third night it was mostly gone but still a slight aroma so giving it that extra day and night makes it completely smell-free.So the 3 nights and 4 days was AFTER the two 12 hour sessions because you have to start from scratch to burn off the smell completely. So if your heater is still smelling, then start again and leave it on full constantly for 3 nights and 4 days (in a well ventilated room).Ridiculous really! They should do that before selling them. It is a good heater now though. We had an older model of this a few years ago and I do remember it taking at least a day or two of the heater being on full to get rid of the smell. This new one has been on for about 5 hours and still stinks! I will update after two days to see if the smell actually goes! It is a similar smell to that of a new oven, which you also have to leave on full for a few hours to burn off manufacturing smells. Tip I can give though is read the instructions - to make sure you have the heater on full power and at maximum room temperature (28 degrees) during the burning off process to make sure it actually works. I currently have it in a little used room with the window open and door shut and will leave it there and turned on and see how long it takes. The room is lovely and warm though!
