Potentially great, let down by very poor hardware and software.
I've got around 10 of these. In the early days a few of them forgot their wifi settings so had to be set up again, which meant losing the power consumption history. The android app is a little clunky, but works OK once things are set up. The UI could be a lot better, like having a scale on the power consumption history.Annoyingly, these devices can't be controlled be IFTTT.The timer on each unit has been very hit and miss, with the times turning on and off changing randomly by their selves...The worst thing about the units is that out of the units I have, 3 of them have blown their internal thermal fuses so have stopped working. Whether this is a poor quality component or has blown with heat is not clear. However, as an electronic engineer I can tell you that the soldering inside leaves a lot to be desired, and the units do tend to run a bit warm.I have a thermal camera and I intend to repair one and see just how hot it runs inside...Potentially a great 5 star unit, but let down by clunky software and poor quality hardware design.Giving it 2 stars as it's good when it works.Edited on 15/1/17 - another one has now failed... that's 4 out of 10... not very good really is it!?Edited on 26/02/2017 - Just come back from a weeks holiday. During the holiday there was a 10 minute power cut. I was expecting the units to turn back on after the power cut but 3 of the 6 remaining units failed to come back on. When I examined them upon my return, the 3 units which failed to turn back on were actually completely dead. Yes, the fuses were still ok, but when I plugged them in I could hear the high pitched whistle of the switched mode power supply whistling about once a second, like it was trying to boot up.... So, out of the 10 original units, only 3 remain working...... Very very poor! To put this into perspective, the first units I bought around 2 yrs ago, the most recent units were just over a year ago.... So this is a long term review..... Reducing to 1 star out of 5 (the 1 star because it's still good when it works).Next step will be to get in touch with Efergy to see what their response is, or whether they'll just brush me off with the usual "Well, we haven't had any other complaints"....Edited 19/08/17 - Another one bites the dust..... 2 remaining from the original 10.... Horrendous quality! I'm now beginning to use the TP-Link HS110 Wi-Fi Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring, seems much better quality, and the KAS android app is great. Shame I can't reduce the Ego to no stars!!

Works very elegantly
I have been using this product for a couple of months, and I like the set up. The information and control available via apps on both an iPad and an Android phone is a good balance between functionality and ease of use. If you want to see both instantaneous electricity use expressed in terms of wattage, and also record that and the cost over time, I find it difficult to think of a better way of doing it than with an Ego. There is also the added bonus of being able to activate and deactivate the socket over the Internet; although in reality, I don't see myself using this function too often. Once I have finished going around the house collecting data on electricity usage at various sockets around my house, I will probably leave it connected to the power supply for my indoor security camera, so I will be able to turn this on and off remotely when away from home.I also have the Effergy home hub monitoring whole house electricity usage, and can confirm that the 2 items don'y interfere with each other on the same WiFi router. It would be a nice refinement if the data being produced by both devices could be seen and analysed on a single dashboard, but this is my only, very minor criticism.

Not worth having
Not as useful as I expected. The numbers don't seem to be adding up right.

Failed after 3 years
Worked very well for first 2+ years and then failed completely which was disappointing and there appears to be no manufacturer support to repair.

The item looks like it has overheated
This item is pointless. Yes, it tells you the amount of energy being used however you have to write down the amount per hour or day as there is no way of finding this out. It does not log daily use, it's just a rolling 24-hour usage. So if you look at it 7 am, for example, you will have to do the same at 7 am the following day. If you happen to miss the 7 am and look at the 24-hour usage at 8 am, you then are looking at the 24 hour period of 8 till 8. Also, there is a graph, however, this again tells you nothing at all; there are no axis or defined information, utterly pointless. To add insult to injury it also has broken. The item looks like it has overheated. The fuse container has gone brittle and broken in two. The company who makes the product has washed there hands and advised me that I speak to the distributor for resolution. AVOID THIS POINTLESS ITEM. There are better energy monitors out there.

Works fine. Doesn't support dual tariff.
Product works fine. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't support dual tariff. You can only configure one. Also, it should have better history of consumption, not just estimated cost for this week, or "cost so far" for the last 24 hours. It should be one month. Graph in the app is useless.

Plugged it in and it went bang, but Efergy not interested - UPDATE
Received today, plugged it in and it went bang and blew my house fuse.I'm trying to get a replacement from the original vendor EnergyMonitorWorld as Efergy, the manufacturer, is not interested even after being contacted by Amazon. Also note that Efergy will not accept contact by phone anymore - a worrying sign I usually find.UPDATE: EnergyMonitorWorld were very helpful in arranging a replacement, so thoroughly recommended.Regarding the unit the set up was easy and it has a nice look and feel. However the interface seems a little clunky so room for improvement on a future update (hopefully). For example when setting a timer you have to touch 'save and exit' when you are simply backing up from the day to the hour setting, prior to actually saving the timer, and the countdown timer does not show countdown progress and only shows that the countdown has stopped if you back out of timers and go back in again. Also I have had one timer episode that did not switch off at the end - trying to work out why.

Dinero y mucho tiempo tirado a la basura. NO COMPRAR!
