Mimos Pillow is Specially Designed to Distribute Pressure from the Back of Baby's Head while in the Rest Position Clinically Tested for Effectiveness - Results Published in a Health Journal. While the corrective positioning of your baby may work well up the age of 3 months; after this age, it can become very difficult to alter your baby's sleeping position.Mimos Pillow eases the pressure on your baby's head and has been shown to get great results, particularly when introduced at birth. Mimos pillow helps to relieve the pressure exerted on your baby's skull during rest and sleep. Babies usually have a preferred side which they will sleep on, meaning the pressure is usually focused on one side of the head. As a baby gets older it can be increasingly difficult to improve this sleeping position through re-positioning and Tummy Time. Re-positioning requires unwavering attention, especially during the night, and may upset your baby if they feel uncomfortable being moved out of their chosen favorite position. Mimos Pillow removes the need to worry about constantly re-positioning your baby. Simply place your baby so his or her head is located within the pillow's cavity. This will reduce the pressure by distributing the weight of the head over a much larger area of contact. Mimos Pillow is proud to boast the following accolades: 1) Effective pressure distribution on baby soft skull 2) TUV certification for Breathability. 3) European Safety certification EN71-1. 4) Textile safety certification - Oeko-Tex 100 Class 1 safe for babies. 5) Loved by parents. Made in Spain, made with care! Note: Pillow cover NOT included. The pillow can be used with OR without Mimos Cover. The special design cover is convenient for washing.

This pillow is real deal. I buy almost everything on Amazon and I never leave reviews because, well, I'm lazy. I had to leave a review about this pillow though! We went to my son's 4 month doctors appointment and our ped confirmed what we already knew...the back of our son's head was really flat. One of downsides to the sleep on your back initiative. She ended up referring us to a physical therapist and said that if PT didn't work, he would likely need a helmet. We left the appointment feeling really helpless and upset because we were doing tons of tummy time and exercises at home to try to keep him off the back of his head but it wasn't enough to combat the amount of time he was in our arms or sleeping on his back. So we went online and started researching and found this pillow. Of course we were terrified to buy it because as a parent you are beaten over the head with, "never ever put anything in the crib with your baby or they will most certainly die of SIDS." So we obsessed over whether to buy this pillow and finally (as our 3 month old's head began to look like a shelf) we decided to buy it, but agreed that if air wasn't free flowing through this pillow when it arrived, we'd just chock it up to a $100 mistake/loss. We also agreed that even if the pillow was made of extremely breathable material, we would only use it when we were awake so we'd be able to keep an eye on him while he slept. The pillow arrived very quickly and when I took it out of the box I was a little shocked by how light and small it was. My initial reaction was, "really, this thing cost $100!?" But thought, "hey, if it's safe for my baby...then it's worth it." I then tried my best to suffocate myself with the pillow and found air to be free flowing. We started using the pillow every time my son was napping during the day and playing on his back. We even used it when he was in his baby bouncer and riding around in his stroller.Within 2 weeks, we noticed a huge difference! We can honestly not say enough good things about this pillow. When we went back for our 6 month doctors appointment, our ped was amazed. She measured his head twice because she could not believe how perfectly round it was.If we ever have another kid, we will totally start using this pillow from the start. Obviously, you have to be safe about what you're putting in the crib with your baby but if you supervise use of this pillow, I think it you will be thrilled with the results!

Skip the cheap pillows and buy this one
I bought this pillow after buying the heart shape pillow, after buying CanDoKiddos guide to avoiding the helmet (i highly recommend) and after reading some reviews. I purchased it a little late in the game because the price is a bit much. I think It really helped even though my son didn't use it for very long. He started rolling a month after we got it. But I was reassured that it could help while he napped and it was a lot less work then going in his room and changing his head position multiple times during naps. Next baby i will be using this right away. I even sent it to a friend to use for her son who may need a helmet. I even took my son to a holistic osteopathic cranial manipulator, you should check one out if you are struggling with a babies flat head.

Flat head no more! This pillow is a score!
I don’t even know where to start! My daughter was born with a super minor flat spot on her little head. As much as I tried to make it better by 4 months the Dr mentioned it was still very minor and we will revisit it at her 5 month check up. As a Mom you worry about your child’s super fragile head. I have bought many head pillows to help shape and correct and not one worked! After more research I came across this one! I said for the price I was willing to pay Bc a cranial helmet is over 3,000 dollars!! Well parents! This pillow was worth every single penny! Within one week I noticed a difference and within 3 weeks a huge difference! When we went to the Dr for her 5 month check up the Dr. was amazed on how my daughters head took shape in the back! He asked me what I did, and I told him about this pillow. Now mind you, I kept her upright throughout the day, and she only slept on pillow for naps, and bedtime! But during tummy time and stretches the pillow was also used for support! If you have any thoughts and read other reviews trust me! This was a life saver! And it fixed her head! Pictures to follow up soon!

Really is making a difference!
Wow. This is incredible. I feel so much better allowing my baby to lay on his back, whether it be when he is sleeping or playing on his mat, because I know this is taking the pressure off of his head and helping to adjust the flat parts! He really doesn’t mind it at all and I can see a difference in the shape of his head already and I only got it at the end of May! Seems expensive for a pillow BUT then you realize just how worth it it is when you start seeing the change. Super happy with it! With how much he sleeps, I didn’t know how to make his head better, tummy time is only so long! This is excellent!

Great for mild to moderate flat heads- it helped our baby!
We noticed that our baby started to have a flat head on the back and discussed matters with the pediatrician. Our baby's case was not too severe. However, if we did not do anything to prevent it from worsening, we may have to opt to have our baby use a helmet. Thankfully it never reached that point. I ordered this product after reading some reviews (photos were so helpful) and figured why not?! I used this religiously with our babe. Whenever there was nap time, playtime (lying on the back), in the swing/rocker, and during evening hours. Within the month we noticed a significant difference - what a relief! Unfortunately, I did not take any photos, but felt that sharing this review can/may help another parent out. I had to research prior to making this purchase because of the cost. I have and will continue to recommend this product. It is also easy to clean, throw it in the washer and air dry. Do keep in mind that this product may have worked for us because we started to notice it before it got worst. It did not come to the point where our baby needed the helmet. For us, the concern wasn't about our babe using the helmet, our concern was about the cost of getting one. Ouch!

Helped with mild plagio
I wish would have noticed the flat spot sooner so I would have purchased this sooner. We started using at 3 months when the flat spot (mild) on the back left side of the head was first noticed. The baby had a tendency to look to the left, and rarely to the right. We used this during the day and at night, along with exercises to encourage the baby to look in both directions (as per chiropractor), plenty of tummy time, baby carrier, Bumbo, and exersaucer. By 4 months the head shape has improved markedly - it is not perfectly symmetrical, but I do believe using the pillow has greatly contributed to rounding out the head as it looks near normal.UPDATE: At 5 months the head shape has no distinct deformity and looks normal. The pillow was used in the crib from 4 months to 5 months only during nap time and night sleep. The baby is beginning to move in the crib more so occasionally the pillow is not under the baby's head when he wakes. We will continue to use the pillow until the baby head size becomes too big for the pillow or until the baby moves around so much it is no longer useful, whichever comes first (most likely the latter). I do not have any plans to purchase the next size up since the baby's head is no longer misshapen and the baby no longer favours a particular direction. I would definitely recommend this pillow for a baby with a similar condition to mine.

Still not convinced
I am still undecided about this product. Around the 5 month mark our son developed a noticeable flat spot on the back of his head. It was actually more of an angle as he slept with his head turned the same way no matter how many times we placed him down differently. Desperate to try and correct it, I ordered this pillow as it seemed to get great reviews. About 4-6 weeks later his head had rounded out. To be perfectly honest I don't know if it was the pillow, increased amounts of tummy time, his neck starting to support the weight of his head and sitting up more, or just nature taking its course and it naturally correcting itself. Either way, I would buy this product again. I would rather pay the $100+ now and avoid having to purchase an expensive helmet later on in his life. Ah, the things we do for our kids.

Pretty ridiculously priced for what it is!
Nice little cushion for baby's head but not sure it's actually helping anything. . It's been a few weeks since we ordered this pillow and put it into nightly use. We don't use it when he's on his play mat, tho we probably should. At any rate, his head has improved slightly. I can't say that this is for sure because of the pillow tho, or just because he's been upright more lately. Not really sure it is worth the crazy price.

so we felt comfortable having it in his crib
We bought this pillow for our 16 week old with torticollis and an obvious flat spot. He used this pillow for all naps and night sleep. He is not rolling, so we felt comfortable having it in his crib. It's also made of some crazy material that you can dig your face right into and you can still breathe. The physio let us borrow a tortle cap to try but it didn't stay in place. Now at 6.5 mos the flat spot is gone, and with the physio positioning work his torticollis is also much improved. I think this pillow played a big part in the success, once the flat spot develops it was going to be tough to get him to sleep on the other side of his head. At this age they spend so much time on their head in the in crib, I would definitely recommend this pillow if your baby is not rolling yet. If they are they would probably just move off of it in the night. While it's expensive, it's cheaper than a helmet.
