(When first purchased) My overall rating for these is about 3 stars but that mainly comes down to more of the bass. With speakers like these dont expect that out of them. You'll get just a bit but not much. The treble (or the highs) you'll get out of these. If you run these speakers off from an after market headunit stereo then the speakers wont be as loud. You run these off an amp then they'll sound more louder and you can tweak them there. I decided to go with the cheaper option to see what the difference in sound quality was. Yes you will need the cable adaptors for these to work with factory harness (thats without an AMP) but there is a more technical ultimate way to use the factory connectors like I have done from the original speakers. (UPDATE - After 1 year of owning these coaxial speakers, I have done the sound deadening properly but only to one door at the moment and the mid-bass response now is much better than what it was before. Im actually quite happy that I went for the cheaper option based upon what I wanted) - Will give a proper review shortly once ive done my car... I have now done the sound deadening with one minor job to do. The mid-range difference is now much better and I think I would say that I would recommend these 5x7’s for if you’re not after anything expensive. With the sound deadening mats/dynamatt you dont need to put that everywhere - just a few here and there spaced apart as it will help with any unwanted vibration noises from the door.

Ordered these on advice that they would fit as a direct replacement for a Ford Transit (Motorhome in my case) MK4 (smiley face). they did just that. The fitted perfectly in the aperture of the factory fitted ones which are now with the wheelie bin! Had to make a couple of extra holes to make full use of the fixings but no cutting or altering of the bodywork. What a stunning difference. Van was quite loud but now I can crank up the music without it going distorted. Should have bought them years ago

I purchased these speakers as a replacement for damaged speakers in a Mk7 Transit van. I had originally purchased a set from Halfords which sadly did not fit. The Alpine speaker however fitted perfectly, matching up faultlessly with the original mounting points. Excellent sound for the price point with great useable bass. More than capable for the original head unit. I would highly recommend these speaker, great buy.

Used these in an old Ford Ka. While there was a decent improvement in treble and clarity, there was a huge loss in midbass, which is typical of replacing speakers with aftermarket ones. Efficiency seemed around the same, no real gains or losses in volume. Great for replacing broken or worn out speakers but, if you're wanting an upgrade, I'd spend a bit more on something substantially better. An amplifier and/or a sub would definitely be recommended. For the price, hard to complain though. They are the bottom end of Alpines line up.

I bought these to replace the standard speakers in an 07 fiesta. They sound great for the price. Nice and punchy if you like that kind of thing. Low range bass isn't going to set the world on fire but for what they are i wasn't expecting them too. If you want that you need a decent head unit with amp and dedicated sub i would say. After fitting the fronts and hearing them i went ahead and bought a second set for the rear. Great product and a great improvement over the standard speakers especially if you want to crank the volume up higher than the standard speakers will normally allow.

Sound quality: Definately on the cooler/clinical side. 20-30 hours break-in helped some, but still quite clinical. On the positive side: Sound is quick and agile and a decent level of details, especially for the price and in the tough car environment. As per specs, they dont go lower than 70 Hz. That can clearly be heard, however, the bass they provide are firm and pronounced. For me, a subwoofer is needed, I've opted for the Kenwood KSC-SW11 due to compactness and price. I havent mounted it yet, but have some expectations. I guess the sound quality is okay, especially for the price. But it's not my taste, I prefer a warmer sound. Depending on the results with the subwoofer, I might step up to JBL GX862.

Good speakers, sound good and they are only getting used off a really cheap headunit in my van.

Muy buenos, mejorè mucho el sonido en mi coche, para un Nissan Terrano II que es donde los coloquė tube que modificar la colocación por no ser preciso el encaje como los originales, pero tienen muy buen sonido, claro y sin ruidos.
