Philips 750 W Kitchen Food Processor HR7761/01 with Accessories for + 28 Functions

2019: After years of use I am delighted to say the machine is still working 100%. I use it every year to grate apples and pears prior to pressing for cider at 30 odd kilos per gallon. I've already made 7 gallons this year just from windfalls, that's a lot of apples to grate. The only glitch has been the central pin in the top of the thingie that drives the blades, getting pressed down a little. Probably because of my cider making. It was easy to pull it back out with a pair of pliers. -------8<------- Neat design a little lacking in places such as the feed shoot being a bit narrow. The instruction leaflet is poorly designed but contains all you need to know, except what the icons of food are supposed to be. The processor is easy to set up and cut yourself with the razor sharp implements. I tried to grate white cabbage using the large grater but it was too fine. Swapped for the deep slicer which lived up to its name as I inserted it in the holder. The cabbage came out okay (slightly blood red in places) but for large pieces of flat leaf that missed the cutter. The grinder seems a bit useless and too much of a faff. The emulsifier disk, a wobbly plate, makes the best and quickest mayonnaise I've ever done. Superb. No slow drizzle to get things going, just glug in the oil. The machine is worth it for that alone.

I've owned this food processor for a few months now and use it often. Here are my thoughts: 1. It is lightweight - Much lighter than my old food processor so it is nice and easy to move around between surfaces 2. It is powerful as hell! I haven't had any trouble using it on anything that I've made, including breadcrumbs, coffee grounds etc 3. The attachments are easily interchangeable and I love the grating attachments. I have to admit I haven't used them all, but the ones I have used have worked awesomely 4. I like the suction cups on the bottom, which seem to add a little more stability to the machine. My old food processor was much heavier and held itself to the counter, but the suction cups help keep this one held down 5. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MINI GRINDER!!! We use it three or four times a day for coffee and it's brilliant. The only downside I've come across so far is that it can be difficult to clean the inside of the regular blade, since it is ridged on the inside. It's not a huge deal, and honestly, my old food processor was also difficult to clean, but just in a different way. Don't let this put you off buying this though, I love it so far and it works very well on pretty much everything you could throw at it (though I haven't had a go at using the blender yet!)

Having had my wonderful Kenwood Chef for more years than I care to remember, I was not looking forward to replacing it when it finally 'gave up the ghost'. However, having read previous customer reviews for the Philips Viva I decided to take a chance on that one. I was looking for a processor without too many attachments as I tend not to use them all and didn't want them lost to the back of the kitchen cupboard. This one is better shaped for storage and given it's size, is surprisingly weighty/sturdy (something I wanted as my previous Kenwood had been really sturdy). The attachments are easier to clean and are dishwasher safe, I however, prefer to wash by hand (just a personal choice). I do miss the variable speed 'slider' on my old Kenwood, giving me a choice of 1 -10 speeds but the Philips is proving to be up to the task; my Kenwood also had plastic 'sheath' protectors for the chopping blades (which are obviously very sharp) which this new machine does not have, maybe Philips could look at providing these with future machines. One very minor disappointment is the volume of the processor bowl. This product is advertised as having a 2 ltr capacity bowl when it actually has a recommended max fill capacity of 1.5 ltrs. There is room to add more ingredients but that would take it over the maximum level and you risk spillage when processor is switched on. I make a variety of items in my processor including, chutneys, chilli jam and soups etc and overall, despite the minor concerns mentioned above, I am very happy with my new kitchen gadget and would definitely recommend to anyone who is a 'first time buyer' or someone who needs to replace their much loved Kenwood Chef.

We bought this to replace a very (about 30 years) old Kenwood food processor. I was worried it might be a case of new technology being inferior, but we have been very impressed with this Philips machine. We mainly use the standard blade to blend food for soups etc and it works brilliantly - super-quick and quieter than the old machine. Perhaps the biggest advantage is that we can put everything in the dishwasher afterwards - so much easier to tidy up and means we use it more often as a result. It looks nice too and doesn't take up too much space on the worktop - although you need cupboard space for the accessories, and I highly recommend a box for the smaller accessories and blades to keep them together and reduce the risk of accidental cuts (the blades are extremely sharp). For the asking price (about £50-60 at the time of writing) it is very good value and we have no regrets.

This was bought to replace an elderly Kenwood food processor whose motor is still working but whose plastic is crumbling! I did lots of research before buying. Plus points - lots of different graters, slicers, choppers etc. I like that it has a liquidiser goblet, a jug/bowl and a chopper all working off the same base unit. The cutters are SHARP - managed to cut myself unpacking and assembling for the first time! Lead stows away in the motor base. The bits do all more or less fit into the bowl and goblet if you want; I prefer to keep all the bits in a separate box however. Pulse and two speed motor are good. All the bits are reasonably easy to fit and remove. Dishwasher washable (except obviously the motor unit). Minus points - you need to fit goblet/bowl/cutter quite firmly to engage the motor. It is correspondingly quite hard to undo them. The plastic bowl and goblet seem to be lighter weight than my ancient Kenwood and I am not sure this machine will provide the 20 years' service that the Kenwood has. Time will tell. Verdict - better quality output than ancient Kenwood, bigger capacity, much more versatile and practical. Takes up no more space with more gadgetty bits. Definitely a hit. Would highly recommend.

I absolutely love my new food processor and have already used it several times for various jobs. I bought it to replace the one I had already had for 30 years, and although it still worked fine, used to keep it in the cupboard as it had gone a yellow colour, now I proudly display my new one. I wish I'd upgraded to this years ago, there are so many improvements, it does everything it says in the description and changing from the main mixing bowl to the blender to the mini chopper ireveiws unbelievably easy. I read reviews before I bought it and noticed comments about the instructions being a bit hard to follow, well all I can say is I thought otherwise, and to be honest didn't really need them. If you're looking for a food processor that does all the jobs you could possibly need it for then this is the one, I am thrilled I bought this one and at such an amazing price.

I had bought this couple of years ago, but didn't get to use it much back then due to space constraints in my apartment I didn't find proper place to fit it in. Now after moving to a new flat, I started using it. There is hell number of times, blade unit has unfasten itself and so all the content in the jar has fallen everywhere in my kitchen, and also it went into the grinder unit. So I have open the unit and clean it to ensure no electric things are getting in contact to liquids. I would have ignored it, if it was a one time thingy, thinking that I might not have set it properly. But this has become a routine, which ensures me that it is blade unit fault. And there will leaks every time. And cleaning the interface where blade unit comes in contact the mixer is another hell, specially when there are leaks. I have used many other mixers so far, and this is the worst. I would only recommend it to the people, who have enough time and patience to clean up the mess it always create. Philips you made me regret in buying your product. Being a person who tries to reduce the carbon foot print, not able to throw it away when the machine is still running. If anyone have any work arounds for this please let me know. Or if someone wants this, please drop a message, happy to discard this for free.

I waited for the price to dip below £50, which it did, briefly, and bought this on the grounds of it being Which? Recommended. It's great,but along with others I have some quibbles. The slicing discs are so sharp I cut myself badly twice just going near them. It's not really practical to pack everything away in the bowl every time, it's a jigsaw puzzle of a task, so I keep only my favourite attachments in there, and the rest in a plastic box elsewhere. The instructions are very basic, and you will need reading glasses for the leaflet, even if you don't normally! There is no chipping disc with this version. The next model up has one. So you can chop, or slice thickly or thinly, or grate thick or thin, but not dice or chip. That is a pity, in my opinion. The mini chopper is very small in capacity, I've really given up on it. It would struggle to cope with, say, three spring onions with their stems pre-cut. The liquidiser can't handle a lot: I tried blending two pints of soup, but it splattered the kitchen walls! Apart from that, I'm delighted. I'd give three and a half stars if I could, because the price was good. BTW: the emulsifying disk is for mixing and whisking. There is no whisk attachment or anything that looks vaguely like one. The disc helps you make superb, lump-free bechamel or cheese sauces. If you have never owned a food processor before, you will need some lessons in use. I bought the Good housekeeping book (1985) from here on Amazon for a penny, and found it a good intro, though the recipes are hilariously retro! It does show you, with illustrations, how to use the machine, though. To sum up: This machine has saved me loads of time and I am much more likely to cook meals for two, or to bake, now that I've got it. It's dishwasher proof, too. But I would have preferred a model that could chip and dice vegetables.
