Pefect for the job
Easy to set up and use.Minor gripe would be 1 screw missing to attach the feet, but this was resolved by a trip to the local hardware store.Other than that, the saw itself is robust, and very easy to use. This saved me a lot of time cutting laminate sections by hand.Still needed a jigsaw for some of the tricky parts, but you can just zip along laying rows of planks with this. Clean cuts through laminate planks.I was surprised at how easy it is to get used to using it.My only regret is not finding it sooner, as no-one else seems to sell this, and I spent forever looking at mitre saws and table saws. This does the most part of the job of both, though admittedly, only for shallower media like laminate planks.Angle cuts possible, though not angled within the media, as you could with an electric mitre saw. Though you don't need to do such cuts for laminate flooring!

Adequate and fair value - but very disappointing and could have been so much better with a bit more thought about the design
I bought this to help with laying a laminate floor in quite a large area. I have to say that it is aequate for the job but could have been so much better with a bit more thought from the design team. It handles both cross-cutting (where the laminate is fixed across the saw table and the saw is moved across it) and lengthwise ripping where the saw is fixed and the laminate is slid under it with a side guide. However, to switch between the two modes requires the attachments for one method to be removed and that for the other attached. And by "attached" I mean that each is held in place by a plastic-headed screw that requires at least 20 turns to tighten it! This makes the changeover awkward and time consuming that could have easily been improved with a different type of fixing. The cross-cut guide is adjustable for different angles but the marking on the saw table for the different angles seems not at all accurate. Setting it on the 90 degree line produces a cut that is clearly not square across the laminate board. Also, walls are never totally straight or square so often you need to cut lengthwise at a slight angle and this is not possible with this saw.The final job in laying laminate is putting the beading around the edge to cover the gap between the laminate and the wall. Where 2 walls meet you need 45 degree cuts to make them fit neatly together. Here, this saw is no use whatsoever. There are markings on the bed for different angles of cut but no way to fix the beading at this angle. And for the 45 degrees in the other direction there are not even markings.I made myself a triangular guide that can give a 45 degree in either direction and this works just about ok. However, I would have expected a saw that is advertised for laminate to have this facility designed into it - and it isn't. Very disappointing. All in all, it is an ok saw but nowhere near perfect for the job it purports to have been designed for. Maybe the designers should have another try. It doesn't avoid the need also for a jigsaw and it is debateable whether a chop saw isn't just as useful and certainly will have other uses.

Woman Friendly!
Being female, big machines scare me! This is pretty light and easy to use. The power is surprisingly high (I was really scared of putting the first bit of wood through because it seemed so powerful) but I didn't need to be.... Cuts like butter! (wear goggles and a dust mask). Honestly really chuffed with myself for fitting a laminate floor with it! Saved £300 (cost of getting a tradesman in to fit laminate in an "awkward shaped" room) - and I can use it again and again! You can use it inside (but will need to dust!) The dust bag collects most - but it still does get everywhere (but nowhere near as bad as other circular saws) so I recommend using outside if you can.

DIY Noob
Sturdy construction (quite big) but instructions very poor and incomplete. On flip side fairly good instructional videos by GMC can be accessed on YouTube which also show you how to put it together.Cons: Very noisy, blade replacement looks fiddly, cross cuts and rip cuts (lengthways) need different attachments with very fiddly locking screws (if you have shaky hands, poor vision or arthritis this will be difficult.) Rip cut doesn't have enough depth for an entire board's width so if you need to cut off 40% or less of a board you need to mark the other side and flip the board over. For accurate cuts you need to get your face close to the blade as it is somewhat obscured by the safety guard (get safety goggles).Pros: Makes cuts quick and easy with minimal surface chipping. Good safety features. Made the cutting part of the job much less stressful. Would definitely recommend this especially if you are doing more than one room. Really liked the clamping system! Surprisingly low dust output.

Poor design, don't buy this
After using a couple times the handle has started cracking due to cheap plastic. I have stopped using it, fear of breaking it and of course if this handle breaks, it becomes useless. I bought this especially for my laminate flooring, but i spent most of the time figuring out which position it will allow me to cut angles. It is so none-user friendly. I had to go through the time- consuming process of changing the support, to allow me to cut long ways and side ways, for every laminate of corners.Dont get this, instead get the mitre saw from makita for an extra £40. You will be able to use the makita mitre saw for other house DIY.
