HV30 Aladdin Self Bleeding Automatic Radiator Valve 1/2" BSP Single Valve

This was easy to install and replaced the in the bleed valve, and looks good, and has worked since it was installed.

I love these little valves. They do exactly what they say on the packet. Really handy for towel rails and super compact radiators that can completely stop working once some air gets trapped in them. Super easy to install: isolate radiator that has air trapped in it, turn of boiler (to stop extra pressure), unscrew end cap on radiator, screw in Aladdin valve, turn everything back on and open up the radiator and hear the air escape through the valve. Would note that sometimes you need to loosen off the valve and let some water out first time round depending on where the valve is on the radiator. Also it is worth sticking a rag over the Aladdin Valve on the first repressurising as sometimes you can get a little spirt of water out of it.

I have two of these valves fitted now, plus a third 'in reserve' - at this price it's no problem to keep one (metaphorically) on the shelf. They were easy to fit (about 10mins at the most - though see below) and have been very effective - I haven't needed to bleed a radiator since, and all rads are noticeably warmer right to the top. In one case, I did have an initial problem (a slow leak), which turned out to be a failure to 'seat' sufficiently tightly against the radiator edge, due to many years of paint etc build-up. (The plug which the valve replaced did not seal in the same way.) However a couple of minutes with a file and a small wire brush cleared the problem, and when re-installed the valve has been perfectly dry.

Perfect very pleased and no air gurgling since fitting this very happy with product. You might have to release some pressure from your system IF you have thermostat on the radiator you are fitting it to... It's easy enough, I just watched a YouTube video to find out how to relieve the pressure. BUT try your rad valves first yours might make a good seal.

I had forgotten how good these are as mine packed up working a couple of years ago after approx 5 years use. My system kept filling up with air over the summer months with the boiler on hot water only setting and made an awful racket when the radiator circuit was reactivated for winter. I had fitted new TRVs so some trapped air was down to that. There was so much noise that I thought maybe I had fitted the TRVs the wrong way around. Anyway, fitting a new vent valve to the towel rail radiator quietened the system down in the first day of use. There is still some noise but it’s getting better all the time. Very easy to install and well priced from Amazon.

I must admit, I am not new to these valves. I installed one last year in a vertically mounted radiator in my bathroom. It was easy to install, and seemed to do its job, so I wanted to put these in every radiator. The turning point was the weather dropping off in temperature and my pipes getting noisey. I went round and checked the rads and noticed some needed venting again... But before I did it I thought I'd do a full system clean. As the rads were being fully drained anyway, I thought I'd give these a go in them all. For less than £40 to do the whole house, it was a no-brainer. You make sure it's on the hot side, unscrew the old bleeder and screw this in, then just fill the system back up. Easy as that. When it's full you go round and wipe up any tiny overflows. There was barely two drops on 7 rads for me. They sound cool when you fill back up too. Do it, it's a cheap and easy method to save you hassle. The sound has all but gone from my system now!

Easy to fit. My towel rail has been cool at the top. Would improve after bleeding it but then return. No air anymore. No cool areas.. No leaking. Easy to install. Well worth the money.

This does exactly what it says it does and does it well. It fitted in the place of the original 1/2 bsp vent fitting on the top of my towel rail. Just tightened it up a tiny hit with a spanner as the rubber washer is good. It is very low profile. It bled the system when cool and only a very small drop of water came out and did not drop away. The next time it bled the system, there was no water at all. So I am very happy. I saw the video of this being tested at a lot of pressure way over the limit in a normal heating system and it did not leak. I will recommend these to everyone I know. They are worth the money. Update after nearly 3 years, even though these have a 5 year warranty it says on the packaging , mine stopped working now just under 3 years from new. these do not have a replaceable cartridge. just a waste of materials having to buy new ones each time. However during the time they were working they worked well.

Montate, appena provate su 3 termosifoni da 180 h e 2 scaldasalviette nei bagni. Termo alti dove avevo sempre problemi di aria... Dopo aver sostituito l’aria è fuoriuscita perfettamente. Semplicemente perfette!!! Resta ovviamente da valutare la durata nel tempo. Vi aggiornerò... Aggiornamento... Perfette anche nel tempo, passato l'inverno tutte e 5 le valvole hanno fatto il loro dovere mantenendo in piena efficienza tutti e 5 i radiatori, esce l'aria e neanche una goccia d'acqua. Semplicemente geniali.

Ottimo prodotto, esteticamente invisibile ed estremamente funzionale. Mi ha risolto un sacco di problemi e non ho dovuto avere a che fare con quell'asino dell'idraulico
