Safety 1st Secure Tech Simply Close Metal Gate - White

I recently purchased this pressure-fitted stair gate, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. Installation was incredibly easy, taking just minutes with the only tool needed being the included spanner. The pressure-fit mechanism holds the gate securely in place, making it a perfect choice for renters or anyone who wants a fuss-free setup. One of my favorite features is how smoothly it operates. The gate can be opened and closed with just one hand, which is a game-changer when juggling a toddler or carrying items up and down the stairs. The build quality is impressive - sturdy enough to withstand my active toddler’s attempts to climb or shake it. Even when he leans his full weight on it, the gate stays firmly in place, giving me peace of mind about his safety. It has green/red colour indicator near the latch to indicate that the gate has been fitted correctly and is secured in place. If you install the gate wrong, it will stay red until you rectify your mistake. The gate also has a little latch at the bottom so if you only want to open the gate in one direction, you can do so. Very handy feature. It’s high enough for my toddler who is 2 years old but, by the time he can climb over the gate… he shouldn’t really need it anymore anyway. Once that time arrives, the gate will be super easy to remove without damaging the wall and I will re-use it for my 2nd child. Price - I think it’s very fairly priced. Cheaper gates are available however, I like the build quality so I was happy to pay the tiniest bit more for this gate. Overall, this stair gate is an excellent choice for busy parents looking for convenience and reliability. Highly recommended!

I bought this for when my nephew stays over, thinking it would keep him safely contained. What I didn’t expect was that it would keep me contained, too. I understood the latch perfectly, but my weak little hands couldn’t actually make it budge. So there I was, a 34 year old adult, reduced to clambering over the gate every time I wanted to leave the room. Now, picture this: I am not tall. I am not graceful. What should have been a simple step-over looked more like a panicked walrus trying to flop over a sand dune. When my partner came home, he opened it effortlessly like some kind of majestic gatekeeper, while I stood there, sweaty, out of breath, and thoroughly humbled. This baby gate is sturdy, reliable, and apparently designed to withstand not only toddlers but also feeble-handed grown adults. Highly recommend if you want your child safe, your dignity shattered, and your calves accidentally toned.

I chose Safety 1st as it is a previously used trusted brand of ours. It fits the gap perfectly with room to spare. It was very easy to attach by myself, I was particularly pleased to find it has discs you can just turn by hand without the tool, and can adjust easily when you feel it necessary. I took one star off as the actual mechanism is not easy to open one handed, and even though I have losenened it it is still very stiff to open. My child now asks every time they want to go through he gate (the gate is for the dogs) whereas he could open the previous lyndham one easily. Not sure if that may be helpful to you to know a three year old cannot open this gate! Haha. It is a slide on top, then squeeze from below mechanism. The overall look is standard but looks nice against a white kitchen and white doorframes.

This stair gate does exactly what I needed it to do. Installation was straightforward and didn’t take long, with clear instructions and all the necessary fittings included. Once fitted, it feels secure and is easy to open and close with one hand, which is particularly useful when carrying a child or other items. The gate is made from metal, which does make it a little heavier than some alternatives, but I actually see that as a positive. It feels sturdy, durable and more robust than many plastic gates I’ve used in the past. While it may not have all the premium features of more expensive models, it performs its main job very well and provides a reliable barrier for both children and pets. Considering this is one of the more affordable stair gates available, I think it offers excellent value for money. Overall, a solid, practical stair gate that is easy to install, simple to use and well worth the price.

I don't often write reviews, but felt that this one deserved one due to the number of negative reviews it's received. It's a pressure mount baby gate, so it does look bent out of the box, as they all do, with a massive gap at the latch. You tighten it into the opening which pushes the frame square. That's how all metal framed pressure doors work. It comes with the cups and fixings to screw into the door frame for extra security that it won't come loose. Tighten evenly until frame is square and you won't have a problem. I was cautious on purchasing, but needed a narrower gate than the ones we already had, but was relieved that the bad reviews are likely user error. The latch isn't quite as slick as the other ones we have, but it's secure and works fine.

Absolutely terrible locking mechanism, practically impossible to open hence not at all user friendly and very dangerous in an emergency, also it needs force to close, again dangerous as adults could believe they’ve given sufficient force for it to close behind them and it wouldn’t have locked. It’s also very nosey when closing. I’ve had better safety gates 20 years ago when my son was a child. This was to prevent my dog going upstairs as she’s recovering from surgery.

So all my family and myself have bought these for all our children, I do believe it’s the best however I’d like to give an honest review to see if it’s happened to anyone else. Our toddler managed to break the last one we had which was amazing, 5 stars, that’s why we bought the same again however when arrived it was faulty. I’m giving 5 stars as not sure weather they broke it or in transit however we’ve used the old one for that specific part which was lucky so we’re not sending it back. Again, this is the best one and I’d recommend this to everyone, friends families and strangers, very quick install and very sturdy. Not the best seeing the new one snapped there however other than that can’t fault the quality.

I have tried several stair gates and found this SecureTech gate to be the best for build quality, security, smart looks, and simplicity of installation. There are four SecureTech gates fitted in our house and our daughter's, and we have had no issues. I ordered the 7cm extension kit as the top of our stairwell is too wide for the standard gate, which works a dream. The instructions are diagrammatic and need to be studied before you put the parts together and start the installation. The gate looks out of true when taken out of the box, but this is intentional. When the four spindle rods are tightened the gate is compressed and everything aligns, which provides the tension to help hold it in position. I like the green colour on the lock that confirms the gate is fully locked. It remains red until the gate has been correctly locked. Two actions need to be made at the same time in order to unlock the gate. With practice an adult can unlock the gate with one hand. However, the double action provides security as it means a toddler will not be able to unlock the gate. For the quality and the security, this gate offers excellent value for money.

Cancelletto sicuro e robusto, fondamentale per chi ha scale in casa. Ogni tanto il meccanismo di apertura risulta duro, ma niente di drammatico. Montaggio molto semplice e veloce. Consiglio l'acquisto anche delle protezioni antiscivolo per ridurre i possibili danni da pressione al muro.

Se instala fácil a pesar de que las instrucciones deberían ser mas claras, especialmente cuando se instala una extensión adicional. Tampoco queda claro donde va la almohadilla, si en el exterior o interior para ayudar con el montaje de la placa plástica contra la pared. En fin, a pesar de todo son muy útiles y resistentes para los niños. No la he probado con animales pero intuyo que igual de buenas.
