Very good machine for the price
Excellent DA from poorboys. Even for a complete novice like me you can achieve some remarkable results; as long as you do the preparation work before you start with the DA, wash, de-tar and clay bar.For my black, 10 year old Lexus, which had the usual swirl marks and micro maring, I used Meguires ultimate compound along with a Lake county Orange pad. I used five pea sized drops on the pad, and dabbed this over the work area of around 1m x 50cm. I started on speed 1 to spread the compound over the work area, then up to 5 to do the actual correction. I did three/four passes (overlapping up/down/left/right) until the compound looked slick. Wiped using a very plush microfiber cloth. Then repeated the process on the next section albeit using only four pea size drops of compound.I finished off using chemical guys butter wet wax, applied by hand. The results in the photos tell you all you need to know! Fantastic!

A Car Cleaning Enthusiasts Dream Investment
I had only ever used a 'rotary buffer/polisher' before, being 'forced rotation' machines, these are much harder to use (they want to 'grab' at the paint surface) unless kept absolutely flat, although they're great at true 'Paint correction'. In comparison, this dual action (DA) polisher from PoorBoys (PB) was a revelation, it's so much easier to use, you can use it to apply various products, Waxes/Paint Cleanser/polish/sealants etc. I found it worked best with a thick foam pad as this allowed it to glide smoothly over the surface, with enough depth to even out any curves or panel distortions & even bridging small gaps (if used carefully).I used it without the handle, if you let the polisher do the work (virtually no downward pressure) & just gently guide the DA with two hands, it will spread the product beautifully, providing a very thin, even coat. I only ever used it on speed setting 1 or 2 (2500 - 3200 OPM) & found speed:1 was perfectly adequate most of the time, any faster & the product could be slung from the pad. I only used a small amount of polish (six pea-sized blobs) spread across the pad, then dabbed around the panel to be polished, before switching on, I was really surprised just how little was used.A full 'decontamination' of the paint is necessary (wash/clay/de-tar/dry) before using the DA, otherwise the surface deposits could create 'buffer-tracks' (small circular scratches) as the potentially abrasive particles are ground into the paint by the action of the DA. If the paint is in generally ‘good condition’ this DA is more than up to the task of ‘paint enhancement’, essentially improving micro scratches/spider webbing, if however the surface has medium/heavy scratches then a rotary would be a better choice, If you can afford it, buy both. The PB DA has a quality feel, with a good weight (not too heavy though) & because you don't 'fight' with the machine it's much less tiring to use than a rotary buffer, I was nowhere near as fatigued after 1 hours use compared to a rotary... I think it will give many years of reliable service, if you're thinking of buying one but just keep putting-it-off because you can't ‘justify the expense’, do-yourself-a-favour, get one, you won't look back, just wish I had bought mine sooner...

Great polisher, great results
I took the plunge on this at over half the price of the Meguairs equivalent and I'm not disappointed.First DA polisher I've had, and after some research, buying some decent pads and products, its yielding great results.Clean and clay bar first, then apply the polish and finish with a wax, it's a time consuming process but infinitely easier than doing so by hand.I have 2 white cars at present so they dont lend themselves to reflective shine, but they have both come up really well.I try to do a clean/wax every 3 months and this will make the job a heck of a lot easier.

Good results
Cracking little machine. Easy to use and gives good results. Only gripe is the position of the speed control. At the rear of the handle under the power cable is not ideal when changing speeds during use.

Great polisher
It even managed to remove the faded writing where the old company signage used to be.I only did the bonnet in the photo of the van - the difference is unreal.Only small issue I have is the variable speed dial being at the bottom of the device which makes it a little tricky to change whilst operating. That being said, I would still buy this knowing what I know now. This is the first time I've ever used a machine polisher and I felt comfortable using it.

Best budget DA polisher
Used it recently to restore my wife car's headlights ( clear coat failure ). You can feel a little vibration, almost unnoticeable. My hands didnt feel tired after using it for 4 hours straight. Amazing value for money.

Great DA polisher
Really nice DA polisher, I got mine on a deal. Quite loud when using, but probably as loud as all the other brands. Easy to use and has 1-6 speed settings. Normally use mine on 4 and use a 3 stage polish from same brands
