Duke's is excellent.
My beard need some tender loving care so I bought a good comb, an oil and two balms as I didn't know which would be best. I tried the oil first for seven days but straight away I knew I didn't like it and it was messy and did little for my beard. I tried Dukes balm next and I was really surprised as it started to work from day one. My beard was softer. It had a firm control which was excellent for me as my beard could be wild wearing a helmet and helmet liner. It had a pleasant smell and didn't need to use a lot. Plus I dye my beard and there was no bad reaction. I found it would last 24 hours really well but it also lasted a few hours longer. I was really pleased. I then tried the second balm which was better than the oil and wasn't bad after another seven day period. However it was nowhere near as good as the Dukes. The only real thing going for it was it smelled a little better. Everyone's beard is different but try this one first, it'll save you money and time, plus a very good looking beard.

Smells good but a bit hard to apply.
This is a great smelly product but trying to get it onto your fingers can be hard. This is also the first time i have used any balm, so it might just be the nature of balms.Once you do get it oiled onto your palms, it does have a good fragrance and i feel my beard is less frizzy.

Good conditioner, nice scent, poor hold
Decent conditioning & softening balm - not overly greasy or oily like a lot of beard balms - though can still give you a slight shine.Smell - At first, I wasn't overly keen, but it has certainly grown on me, and my partner seems to like it. The scent isn't overpowering, it kind of smells like a mixture of lime and petrol! It won't follow you around all day either.Hold - I was quite disappointed with the lack of hold - my beard is probably mid-to-long, and this just isn't strong enough to give it any hold or shape. Perhaps more suited for shorter beards.Usage - Fairly easy to use, although as a few other reviews have pointed out, it can be a bit clumpy at first, especially if cold, so make sure you really warm it up in the palm of your hand.Presentation - Really nice tin, looks very good.

An amazing smelling product with lasting power and leaves a healthy face beast
I've had a shorter beard for a while and decided to take the plunge and grow it out. I soon found out how wild a longer beard can grow. I used various oils to try and calm the beast to moderate effect, but decided a balm would be a better option. The problem I was having was the smell and control quality of other balms. I tried a few and often found d the scent to be overpowering or too strong, the scent would also change throughout the day, particularly the ones with coconut oil. After tried and error I stumbled upon this gem. This is one of the best smelling beard product I have had the pleasure of using and maintains its delicious scent throughout the whole day. It has great staying power and keeps my beard in check the whole day. The tin lasts me a long time aswell so it's great value. The ingredients are all natural and it isn't combined with wasteful products that aren't healthy for your hair. All in all I'm very impressed with the product and it will now be my beard balm of choice.

OK, not quite sure what it's doing.
I can't say that this balm either 'holds' my beard or makes it softer. It smells good, it feels nice and there is a chance it is making my beard softer but I cannot say for certain.

You could light a lantern with it!
I bought this to try something different. There are 3 major flaws/issues with this product that potential buyers should be aware of.1) The first issue is that this is advertised as a balm but the texture is no different from moustache wax. This means you have to fight with it to try and get a reasonable amount on your beard. Even if you manage this it forms lumps and if you don't notice it when applying you might turn up to work looking like a vagrant with bits hanging off your beard and give the impression that you ignore your self hygiene.2) Issue number 2 is that it smells like paraffin! The smell reminds me of those days when I was doing relief work in natural disaster stricken undeveloped countries where they use paraffin lanterns for lighting at night. The smell is a bit like petrol, nice at first whiff but then has an after smell which causes a headache.3) For £12 quid a pot this is a very expensive 'balm' considering it's not a very big pot and has the two issues above. I wouldn't have moaned about the price if the product did what it said on the tin.saying all this you might even like this item...I don't know but for me this was a waste of time and money! Arranged a return with Amazon.

so might get better or may develop problems
Appears to work as described and so far I (& my wife) am enjoying the results. Still a little early in its use however, so might get better or may develop problems, but Kingsman wanted feedback as soon as I got the product. I have complied - but would suggest that they allow people the time to use the product for a bit before asking for feedback or suggestions.
