Wide colour temperature and brightness
These bulbs are fabulous for anyone who needs a customisable lighting option. The colour temperature ranges from a harsh white that can be offensive at full brightness all the way down to a deep yellow-orange. If you have a Philips Hue bridge (sold sep) you can customise all of these lighting options directly from your mobile phone with a large gradient for the colour temperature and brightness. It's a must to use this product to its full potential but is rather pricey. You could instead by a remote control switch that can be affixed to most surfaces around the house. The lightbulb requires you to leave your lightswitch on 24/7 to get the most out of its remote controls so it's not the best for say a bathroom with a fan connected to the wall switch. This product would do quite well for those who may be visually impaired as their mobile phone when combined with other software could allow them to determine if the lights are on at home. It's function really shines for people with light sensitivity, it's granular controls and ability to remember the last setting it was on so that you do not get blinded by a brighter light than you could stand. For me, the dimmer could do with going slightly lower but that can be achieved with careful lampshade choice. The ability to remotely (via an actual remote or smartphone) alter the lights is perfect and has the ability to remember your favourite settings. It's also fully compatible with other Philips Hue products and some non offical Philips Hue products out there on both the app store and stores. This specific product is best for those who already possess a bridge or switch as this is just two bulbs in a box and has no additional function to a normal lightbulb without the additional ability to adjust it. If your new, consider a starter kit and swing back to buy this later on.

Excellent hue bulbs
Bulbs work flawlessly, picked up by the app without any issues, easy to set up. I would say the light output is slightly higher than what I was expecting from a '60w' equivalent'.I used these hue bulbs to replace 2 bulbs on landing and stairs, both eco-halogens, one was a 60w equivalent and the other was a 100w equivalent 1521 lumens bulb. The hue bulb is obviously not as bright as the 100w equivalent, used on the landing, but wasn't as dim as I was expecting, thankfully. In the hall, the hue bulb seems slightly brighter than the 60w eco-halogen bulb it replaced.

Great lights again, the ability to tint the colour is great
You get what you pay for! These are great bulbs, had various Phillips Hue bulbs for the past 4 years and not one problem or glitch. Used with Google home and assistant, the various Phillips switches, IFTTT and various phone apps. The new ambient white which have blue to orange tinge are really good as a less expensive option for side lights where you don't need the full colour spectrum and produce a much nicer light than the original white-only ones.

Great light but requires the rest of the kit.
Good little bulb, not as bright as standard LED bulbs but the hue function is useful.I have this and a Hue starter set with hub, coupled with a number of bulbs, hue motion sensor, amazon dot and a google home device.Anyone looking to add automated lighting to their homes, this is easy to set up, can be controlled by mobile app from hue or via a connected device like the amazon dot. Lights can be configured into groups such as living room, bedroom and kitchen so easy to manage. One slight problem at the moment with the solution when used with the amazon dot is that you can't say "turn on the lights" and it detect the room based on the dots location, you always have to specify the group you want. This is an important step thats unfortunately been missed out however this is more of a problem with the dot (which i'm sure will be resolved in time).

great light bulbs
I know they’re expensive for a light bulb before anyone states the obvious! I like the convenience of being able to turn my lights on and off using my phone. Also being able to set up timers when I am away is a great feature. There are the cheaper versions of the Philips hue bulbs that only provide dimmable light and not the different colour ranges of white that these bulbs provide. I personally like the bright white light you can get from these bulbs as it will actually light up the room rather than provide a back light. I only use the Hue app and I’ve not tried any third party apps as yet. I’ve linked my Amazon Echo to the hue bridge and now I can control all my lights by voice! Love it!!

Turn Your Room into Starfleet Quarters.
Teamed up wi' an Amazon Echo Dot & a commbadge & the ambient starship bridge sounds skill xD you can make believe your bedroom is your very own Starfleet quarters."Computer, turn on Bedroom Light."XD its brilliant. You can set wake up times & go to sleep times.Routines, timers, and stuff.I bought it as a disability aid, to be honest. And its really helped.I'd recommend setting the wake up 10mins after the time you awake. As it takes 10mins to "fade in". That way if you visually sensitive, you wonbe awoken 6~10mins early, as that's what the Hue app seems to recommend. The Concentrate setting seems to actually work. The Relax also.It has almost everything.Even a nightlight & a daylight setting. You can even use it through the Alexa app.And if you have a portable podium battery for an Echo Dot xD and carry it out the room wi' hands chock full of stuff(and possibly hae a fear of the dark too) XD nae need to worry about lightswitchs. Just ask for the lights off as you walk out, and they'll be off as you reach the doorframe. Also wonderful for getting into bed xD just ask your "assistant" to turn the light off.Dimming it somewhere between 20~50% is also good for havibg to get up to visit the bog, in the middle of the night XP nae plug or lego horrors on the way XDYet, as to be expected xD revert back to the lightswitch, if your internet connection goes down XP then breath a sigh of relief when regular service is resumed XD
