Knowing what 100% wool can be like, I thought knew what I was getting, but this companies blanket exceeded all expectations!!!First off, the sheer size and heft of this blanket is impressive for the price point - period!Second, the quality is superb! The consideration of fabric, the fullness or color, and the end finish are very high quality. Granted it's not virgin, but I want a blanket that knows a thing or two. *Wink*Third, if you've ever had new real wool anything you come to expect that "new wool smell". This was very minor, and dissipated with a cold water wash.After a cold wash and cold air tumble, it's soft and comfortable and I'm sure it'll be a wonderful addition to my excursions in the world. I may just have to get another.

This is a high quality and sturdy wool blanket. The benefits of this blanket are the same as any other wool blanket. It is warm, flame resistant, and can retain heat even when wet. It is a great emergency blanket and I keep it in my truck incase something happens and I need to keep warm. Ive used it camping and it was comfortable to have on bare skin, it was not scratchy at all.

I had been eyeing wool blankets for awhile but didn't want to spring for $300...I took a chance on these Etkos blankets and have been BLOWN AWAY. They are incredible quality, the blend they use is not itchy, and there is some heft to them so you feel that weight when it's over you adding to the warmth.I loved it so much that I had to buy a second...I haven't spent a night without using these blankets yet since I bought them. In the pictures you'll see I rolled one up with my canvas tarp for bushcraft and it works so well for that too.There was a normal scent to them when they first arrived, so I just hung them out in the sun and fresh air for a bit and it isn't even noticeable anymore. So I wouldn't worry about the other reviews that complain of the strong scent.Do yourself a huge favor...try these blankets out and I promise you won't be dissapointed.

The blanket is high quality, well made full wool. However this is decidedly not the kind of wool blanket you might buy in an average bedding store. Unexpected issue is strong scent/odor even when dry. As expected the fur is heavy and rough. The plastic bag it comes in is zippered and vented...making it useless for long term storage. Would be best if it came a) deodorized and b) packaged in a re-sealable bag that protected it from water and insects. I sent it to a good dry cleaner (after finding one who knew how to handle wool) then repackaged it in a "vacuum" clothing bag. It should keep indefinitely.

Got the sunset blue. Beautiful colors. Love this 100% wool blanket. Not scratchy. Smells fine. Very satisfied with purchase.

Not as soft, but its durable, and the great insulation keeps out the cold and locks in your body heat. Just dont put it in the dryer like i did

I bought this for car / camping use mainly, wanting something heavier and nicer than my previous fleece blanket. It's OK, and I think pretty good for the price. I give it a low ranking mainly because they really drill in how it's triple-washed and ready to use. This thing sheds like crazy — i laid it out on a white sheet and it was more blue than white when I lifted it up. It also had a distinct chemical smell. I hand washed it in bath tub and nearly clogged my drain with the shed. Finally, I ran it through a tumble dryer (no heat) to work some of the loose material out. I emptied the lint trap five times for the twin-size blanket. After all that, it's probably lost 1/2 lb of material, but it is usable and not shedding.I wouldn't say don't buy it, but I would say: plan on a project when you receive it.The "storage pouch" is also a bit of a joke: it's just clear plastic retail packaging for a shelf. It would be very hard to fold the blanket back to that size, and it's not breathable, so probably not a good idea to store the blanket in that, even if you managed it.

Love this blanket!!!!!! I was slightly worried about the smell due to other reviews. But no need. There’s barely any smell. I absolutely love that this came in a zippered bag. I bought this and a few other blankets to keep in my emergency kit in my SUV. So the bag is great. It’s way bigger than I was thinking, heavy duty, and not scratchy. Hope I never need it but I’m glad I have it.
